CHAPTER 32: Wolfless Girl in a Cage

My grandmother will make my life as if I was in prison after this and it concerned me because I will be stuck in Eden Spring instead of going back to the training facility after everything is get back to normal.

I need to train so I can get my wolf shape before my relatives noticed that I don’t have that, and how I can get my shape if everyone in Eden Spring never allowed me to step out of the state?

My life is fucked up if I kept following the rule that my grandmother’s created, I need to talk to my father and convince him that this was not a good plan.

The two of them then talked about the rogues and how they could pass Eden Spring’s gate. Turned out, the insider who caused all of this to happen. My father assumed there is someone in our family trying to create a conspiracy so Adrian’s family will fall off, but my grandmother did not believe in what my father told her because she thinks our family will never do that, my father can do nothing but to keep what in his mind by himself after that.

Eden Spring’s gate had always been guarded, not even seconds the guards ever leave the place which makes it sense that someone tried to sabotage us. I believed my father the moment that skepticism escaped his lips, he always has good feelings and I never doubt him.

But making me became their prisoner is nonsense, I will not let myself to stuck here and wait for my wolf shape to come by itself, I will get caught if they kept standing in their foolishness, and my relatives will be against my family.

“Elora?” A similar voice suddenly popped up and startled me, my shoulders lifted the moment those voices get into my ears, turned out it was Mr. Connor.

“Mr. Connor, I didn’t expect you to be here” I declared, immediately getting off my back against the wall.

“I’m glad you survived the attack! I can’t imagine if you didn’t make it” He said.

I said nothing but smile in response; the muscular guard which was going somewhere to get some ice for my ankle back then finally got back and made the atmosphere even tenser, my breath increase the moment he arrived; I felt anxious.

“Lady Elora, here’s the ice!” The muscular guard ran the ice to me, his hand hanging holding the ice bag. “You will feel better after this!” He said.

Mr. Connor raised his eyebrow the moment he noticed that I trick the guard so that I can eavesdropping on the queen’s conversation with my father but he save me afterward and keep it secret.

“I can heal her! She doesn’t need the ice bag” Mr. Connor said.

The commotion that we created outside attract my father's and the queen’s attention, when the three of us standing near the queen’s office door, my father all of the sudden opened the door from the inside and stare at us.

“Elora, what are you doing here? You should have waited in your room” My father declared as he ran his gaze at me, and I gulped in tension because I had no answer, he then pointed his attention to the principal.

“We’ve been waiting for you” My father spoke to Mr. Connor; he looked relieved the moment he saw the principal.

The two of them then started pulling away from the corridor and getting into the queen’s office but before they could walk any further, the queen stopped both of them by speaking to my father.

“Adrian, you should have welcomed your daughter!” My grandmother said; it took my father by surprise.

“But it’s political business, mother… I don’t think she’s ready for it” My father responded.

The queen then told my father that I must be ready even if I did not; I have to take responsibility as the Red Blood's next heir and do my job because I will be on the throne soon.

“Let her learn, Adrian! Please join us, my dear…” The queen then welcomed me to join the meeting and hear their discussion.

I stepped into the queen’s office in tension; it was my first time being in her office in seventeen years of my life, my mother does not even ever step into this room.

The guard then shut the door for us after the three of us get into the queen’s office, he and the other guard then escorted the outside of the office.

“Take your seat, please” My grandmother pleased all of us in the room to take our seats.

I took a position next to my father and Mr. Connor sat on the chair to the left near my father, the queen was sitting facing all of us in the room and ready to start the meeting.

The office was like a meeting room located downstairs of the palace and several chairs were facing the queen’s seat, the room was quite large and could fit more than twenty people and the walls were golden brown just like the gold-plated windows of the palace.

My grandmother then opened the conversation and the first question is about the vampires who attacked Scarlett-Polis weeks ago. Mr. Connor then explained to all of us about the investigation that they had done by his people for the past week.

He said that the vampire came to our world by themselves and the speculation that said that one of the werewolf packs helped them turned out to be wrong. They came by themselves and used magic power to open the werewolves’ world portal gate in Scarlett-Polis which is still a mystery about how they got that magic power, his people still do more investigation to find out.

“Do the vampires still dominate Scarlett-Polis?” Queen Hermione inquired.

“We killed them but there is a chance they are still there” Mr. Connor responded.

“How many vampires do your men killed?” Alpha Adrian asked from his seat and I was just sitting quietly listening to their conversation next to my father.

“We killed more than twenty vampires recently! But we suspected there’s more outside and Scarlett-Polis still not safe” Mr. Connor said.

“How come, it’s been weeks since the attack? Your men are not doing their job!” My father declared in disbelief, he sounded fed up.

“These vampires are stronger than we thought! They developed and some of them survive if exposed to sunlight” Mr. Connor explained and he paused to take a tense deep breath. “We are still exploring the woods to look for them and guard the Scarlett-Polis portal… We will do our best to clear them up!” He said.

“Just make sure they will not make it passed Eden Spring’s gate! Adrian, tell the guards to set the electric protection in every gate we had after this” Queen Hermione demanded and my father nodded.

Mr. Connor then asked both my grandmother and father whether they both knew about the reason vampires came to our world, the two of them had no idea about that. The principal then ran his gaze at me, making both the queen and my father perplexed.

“You haven’t told your father about this, Elora?” Mr. Connor asked.

How could I forget to tell my family that the vampire came to our world just to get me and make a deal to get the family treasure from the Red Bloods in exchange to get me back?

“I’m sorry! I forgot to tell them, Mr. Connor...” I tensely replied, giving all of them a toothed smile after that.

The principal then explained to both my grandmother and father after that, even Mr. Connor have no idea at first because his men had trouble finding a vampire that was willing to talk about their purpose in coming here, and after days of hunting vampires in every place in Scarlett-Polis they finally managed to get one of them to talk before killing him.

Mr. Connor then said there is a chance for the vampires to break into Eden Spring’s gate to get the treasure and the queen’s temper increases the moment after she heard the principal’s explanation.

“What I’ve told you, Adrian? Sending your daughter outstate has never been a good idea! Now, I hope you open your eyes” My grandmother declared and she sounded fed up after noticing she was right.

“Where did you find the last vampire you talk with?” My father inquired.

“Not far from Eden Spring’s gate! In the West Coast woods…” Mr. Connor responded.

“How about the rogues… Mr. Connor? How they could get here?” I finally spoke and it immediately gained their attention, the three of them were staring at me. “Sorry, I shouldn’t talk” I apologized with a slight compunction in my voice.

My grandmother smiled the moment I talked and she then told everyone in the room that I had the same right as them to talk in this meeting, the queen then pleased Mr. Connor to answer my question.

He declared that the rogues taking the path of the West Coast woods and it has led to speculation that vampires and rogues have teamed up to attack us, Mr. Connor said they would investigate this further and find the answer.
