A noise that came from the door interrupted our meeting, turned out it was the guard that the queen commanded to invite all the Red-Blood pack members to the palace tonight. He came to give the queen an update on his work.
The queen then ordered the muscular man standing guard outside to let the guard into the office; he then enters the queen’s office.
“So, what do you got for me?” Queen Hermione inquired the guard who at that time had already stood in front of her with a lower head.
“I informed all of the Red-Blood pack members about your invitation my queen! They had already here and waited for you in the ballroom of the palace” The guard declared.
“All right, you can go, thank you!” My grandmother pleased the guard to leave her office and there are only four of us in the room after that.
She then got up from her seat with a smile on her face, the queen looked very blithe at that time and it made both my father and I concerned because we know this might be a disaster for both of us, his empire will end soon.
I tensely ran my gaze to my father and gave him a silent signal that I wasn’t ready for everything, my father shook his head and give me a sign to not pull back because it will make the queen skeptical; my legs shaking underneath the red gown.
“Well, I think we’re ready!” My grandmother declared and all of us then get up from our seats.
All of us stepped out of the queen’s office a couple of minutes after the guard informed my grandmother about the pack’s member's arrival; we walked downstairs and the guards surrounded us at that time.
My grandmother wore a rose gown and it wasn’t red as mine, hers was darker. She looked perfect in that gown and the bun pulled her face, making her look younger than her actual age, her sharp jaw and nose glisten when the light hits her face, the queen was marvelous.
I walked behind the queen and became her shadow, all people who were waiting for our arrival immediately ran their gaze at us as we all stepped our feet on the ground.
“Your majesty…” The La Luna family out of nowhere came and greeted us; it was Harrison's father who was on the front line, Lord Harry.
“I didn’t expect you were here, Lord Harry! I thought you had some business outstate” My grandmother declared.
“No, my queen, I can’t possibly miss your special invitation” Lord Harry responded with a smile on his face; that was a fake smile.
Queen Hermione then made her way toward the podium which was located in the middle of the ballroom and all the eyes all of the sudden were on her. My father and I were standing near the podium with Mr. Connor and the La Luna family.
I saw Harrison in the crowd but I don’t see my other cousin Christopher, my eyes ran around the place to find him but to no avail, because he was not there.
“Where is he?” I wondered as I ran my eyes around the place, my father then hit my hand gently to stop me from doing that after she noticed I wasn’t paying attention.
“Keep focus!” Alpha Adrian demanded, I then got my gaze back to the queen that stood on the podium.
The ballroom which was filled with people’s voices immediately became a quiet place the moment Queen Hermione grab the microphone and create a noise with her fingers, we all then paid attention to her and the announcement then started.
“Good night, ladies and gentlemen… I am so glad that all of you are finally here” My grandmother started her sentence and the palace lights that had been lit all over the place suddenly went out and only focused on the queen who was on the stage.
“You must be wondering why I invited you to my palace all of a sudden” Queen Hermione inquired and the crowd nodded in response.
By that time my legs started to shake even more and my breath gets heavier following the tension that I had all over my body, I was so afraid that tonight would be my last day on this land.
The tension made my body freeze, my eyes bulged looking at the queen who could be announcing my name at any time and shock everyone in the palace. This is going to be a long night for me because my father can’t rewind the time and we had no more plans, I ran my hand closer to him and hold his hand.
“Everything is going to be all right” He whispered, Alpha Adrian tried to stop me from doing stupid things that could ruin the announcement. “Say nothing, just follow the show!” He demanded and I tensely nodded, my heart beat increasing four times faster.
The La Luna family seemed to notice our strange behavior; Harrison’s mother Lady Emma raised her eyebrow when she saw the two of us; she felt suspicious.
I then released my father’s hand and stand even straighter, my head in the cloud afterward, acting as if nothing bothered me, and my father also notices that the La Luna family has been kept track of us, he act cool at that time.
“Well, I know my daughter-in-law just passed away… And this is not the right time to hold an event” My grandmother said and she kept continuing; all the eyes were on her at that moment.
“But that does not mean we have to grieve this long! We need to replace the grief with happiness” She said and all the pack members agree with her words, they are smiling and can’t wait to hear more.
The atmosphere became tenser for my father and me when the light that had been focused on the queen which standing on the podium now shifted and focused on me who at that moment was almost dead in tension, my body trembling underneath the red gown when that happened.
All the eyes that were focused on the queen now leave her and shifted to me who was illuminated by a spotlight as white as heaven’s light, people wondered deep inside.
If only I could, I would rather be with my mother ten feet under the ground so I did not have to experience this kind of shit in my life and I would rest in peace same goes for her if that happened but facts said otherwise, instead of living my life as a regular wolf, I have to fight for the throne to make my family happy and put my happiness behind.
