CHAPTER 37: The Arrival of His Ex

Luna Mira came to the palace without an invitation and she came with two guards escorting her that night, one has a snake tattoo around his neck and the other one has a scary scratched mark on his eyelids.

My father and the queen stepped down the stairs to see them one second after the guard told them about their arrival, too bad they command me to get back to my room and let the adult solve their problem.

But my rebellious guide me to them. Instead of getting back to my room, I turned and followed them in silence, ending up hiding behind the massive curtains which surround the palace.

I could hear everything even though I was hundreds of meters away from them, thanks to the Moon Goddess there are no men kept on guard on the second floor of the palace. My face opened looking towards the people who were on the ground floor of the palace while my body hid underneath the curtains.

“I came here after hearing the news that the queen might help Scarlett-Polis’ citizens” Luna Mira started her sentence; her soft voice filling the place as if it was a melody.

My father raised an eyebrow the moment Luna Mira’s words escaped her lips, at that time all of them were still standing. The queen then pleased Luna Mira to take her seat, followed by my father and grandmother who rested their back against the plush sofas afterward.

“Why did you care about that?” My father required with a slight annoyance in his voice; he was upset to see after dozens of years, she finally stepped her feet back in Eden Spring.

Queen Hermione finally says a word after letting both Luna Mira and my father start the conversation, with a tight face my grandmother said. “I might invite you to Eden Spring after millennia, but you are not welcome here!” The queen hit Luna Mira with a sharp gaze.

“After the thing that you have done to my son, I will not let you show your face again near him” My grandmother sounded upset; she growled when she spoke.

My father then stopped the queen by hanging his hand and pointing it to my grandmother, he shushed the queen and I learned that my father did that to protect Luna Mira from getting hurt; my grandmother can do nothing after that.

Queen Hermione loves my father as if he came from her and nobody could be forgiven after hurting him the way Luna Mira does.

Every time she looked at Luna Mira’s face reminded her of the day when Luna Mira ran from her marriage ceremony with my father and it broke the queen’s heart because her desire to expand her territory failed.

After that incident, the queen could not help but let go of the area that should have been under her control, plus my father locked himself in his room before getting to know my mother, and it made me queen even more frustrated to see her brother’s son marrying someone who does not come from the royal family.

“Thank you, mother” My father thanks the queen after her silence.

Queen Hermione said nothing but rolled her eyes in disgust, the conversation then started again as the atmosphere became tenser.

“Again, why did you care, Mira?” After millennia my father finally say Luna Mira’s name again as he asked her.

Luna Mira took a deep breath before going any further, she off her back from the sofa and started to sit up straight, and all people there pointed their attention to Luna Mira.

“Rockwood is under attack!” Luna Mira declared.

“Wow, not surprised you came here asking for help” The queen scoffed from her seat, rolling her eyes in disgust.

After listening to my grandmother’s sentence, my father ran his gaze to her, and shaking his head, he sighed before telling my grandmother that she shouldn’t have interfered with their conversation, the queen could not help but sigh in annoyance.

Solicitous gripped me as soon as I learned that Alpha Drax’s city was under attack and the vampires who entered Scarlett-Polis through the portal had now attacked other cities. I can’t control myself at that time so without realizing what I was doing, I ran down the stairs and shocked everyone.

All the eyes immediately ran at me, I became a spotlight the moment I step my feet on the ground, my father looked mad at that time.

“I’ve told you to get back to your room!” My father declared; his high voice reverberated throughout the room.

The queen defended me, she said that I also have the right to participate in all activities related to the pack because I will be in a higher position than my father, but what I know, my grandmother just wanted to disturb him and Luna Mira’s conversation.

With a heavy sigh, my father welcomed me to join the conversation and without hesitation, I immediately make my way toward the living room and sit right next to my grandmother, facing Luna Mira, and my father who was sitting on the single sofas in front of me.

Luna Mira threw a smile at me and I respond to her with a small smile on my face, the conversation then started again.

She then explained that after hearing the news from one of her guards, Luna Mira ventured to return to Eden Spring. Our state became the safest state in this land after the vampires’ attack around the cities.

“So all of a sudden, everyone moved to Eden Spring?” With a bitter voice, my grandmother said. “There is no way I let you and your people step on my land!” Queen Hermione declared.

My grandmother looked upset at that time. Her old disappointment toward Luna Mira still enveloped her and it ate her conscience.

“Grandmother, they needed help…” I finally say a word and it surprised the queen.

“What! You too, Elora?” My grandmother sighed.

Even though Luna Mira’s son treated me badly, I got no reason to stop my father from doing the right thing so I was there to clear things up.

“I apologize, grandmother, but all lives matter! We can’t let the vampires kill our kind! It could drive us to extinction if we don’t cooperate” I said.

What I said had some truth to it, both my father and grandmother nodded in agreement after hearing my statement. Unexpectedly, the princess who previously only spent time practicing and staying quietly in her room has now turned into a girl who has far-reaching thoughts.

“She’s right” Like it or not, the queen has to admit that I was right. “The vampires will attack more states if we don’t work together!” My grandmother said.

“Adrian, start from tomorrow please, gather trained guards to clean every city and relocate the people whose city is under attack! Our warriors will help them expel the vampires from the cities” The queen demanded and then she got up from her seat.

“I think everything is clear!” My grandmother said, still in her tight face; the three of us immediately got up from our seats after seeing the queen leave hers.

My grandmother then leaves the place, she gets back to her office with guards escorting her, and now only Luna Mira, my father, and I stay in the living room.

“Thank you!” Luna Mira looked relieved; she thanked me for convincing the queen to help her people to relocate to Eden Spring.

I say nothing but give a smile in response and when I ran my gaze to my father, I see a spark of love fills his eyes, and I can say he still had a feeling for Luna Mira even though he had said that he loves my mother before she passed away.

Luna Mira then said that she and her people only stay here until her guards manage to clear Rockwood city from the vampires, of course, with the help of the Red Blood’s warriors. After that, she promises that she will not step on her feet again in Eden Spring or show her face in front of my father.

Sorrow started to fill my father’s face the moment he learned that he will not see Luna Mira again after the situation gets back to normal. He then told Luna Mira that our guards will make sure none of the vampires were alive after they got there.

Luna Mira looked glad after that, a huge smile came on her face. She then said goodbye to both my father and me so that she can inform her people who currently hid inside the woods that the Red-Blood pack will help them.

Her people will not happy with that, but they got no choice but to accept our help, moreover, their leader was the one who asked for our help, and none of the Red-Blood volunteered.

The situation in Rockwood is not as bad as Scarlett-Polis, the Rockwood’s guards handle the vampires quickly before they could even spread around the city, but they could not hide the fact that the vampire had already entered the city.

I stopped Luna Mira and her guards before they could even reach the door, I was too excited to welcome them here till I forgot her son and I had some unfinished stuff.

My mouth can’t hold to tell Luna Mira that my father will also relocate the training facility to Eden Spring and I would be happy if the Rockwood’s teenagers who were the same age as me join the training.

Then I remembered, her son will also be there. A thrilled feeling that surrounds me before immediately turned into dejection. I wasn’t happy to see him again.

“My people would be happy to hear that, thank you!” Luna Mira smiled; her porcelain tooth shines as if it was the star.

I fake my smile and hid the dejection feeling that I had for her son. Luna Mira and her two guards then leave. With the help of our guards, they finally went home safely because they were escorted by our guards, there are four Red-Blood cars following them home at that moment.

My father gave me a look, his brow raised as if he wanted my explanation and he also crossed his arms at that time. “What?” I shrugged as I rolled my eyes, was about to make my way back upstairs but I can’t make it because my father stopped me.

“What did I’ve told you?” My father sighed, by that time he had already got my wrist in his grip. “Do not make friends! Do not act as if you live one hundred years in this world” He said angrily but subtly. “The Night-Blood is not our fellow! They are our enemy” My father stated.

“Why did you agree to help them then?” I punched him with a deadly question; something that he never expected.

My father lied to himself, even though he said he loves my mother, the fact that he was still in love with Luna Lira cannot be hidden and he attack me with something that I did not expect.

“Now I understand…” My father took a deep breath before he continued; he wasn’t happy to see my response back then so he returned with a new attack to cover himself. “Don’t say you like-” He did not finish his words yet because I cut him off before he could say any further words against me.

I know what he was talking about; he talked about Luna Mira’s son, the guy who I recently hate when somebody says his name, my father assumed that I like him, yes, he was right but if he can lie to himself and people around him, why wouldn’t I?

“I got no time for that shit” I scoffed and this is the first time I say a bad word in front of my father.

“I never teach you to behave that way! You better watch your language” My father sounded upset the moment he heard that word.

I chuckled, knowing that he never be there for me and my mother. It made him even more upset.

“What are you expected, father?” I raised an eyebrow as I chuckled, shaking my head in disgust. “Omega Athena was the one who teach me everything, you never be there because you were too busy with the pack!” I said, raising my voice when I spoke.

“Huh, not surprised you were just like her!” My father declared, he then sighed and left.

It broke my heart to see that my father still blamed everything on my mother and he still found a way to hard-set her even though she was not here anymore. After seeing this, I learned that I should not trust any man even if it was my father if I did not want to end up like my mother, Omega Athena who spent the rest of her life loving the wrong person.
