The time immediately froze the moment after I spilled the coffee on the ground, by that time Alpha Drax had already reached me and he was standing right behind me, pointing his gaze at me while holding a cup of coffee in his hand.
I couldn’t move, my feet locked by the ground at that time. I was shaking after noticing he was ready to open his mouth and talk to me, I wasn’t ready to hear his first word after we stopped talking.
Although I still turn my back on him, the tension feeling that I felt after his arrival kept enveloping me, my saliva ran down to my throat and connected to my heart, making my chest burst.
“I see you’re not drinking the second coffee yet! I can replace the coffee you spilled if you don’t mind” His first words finally escaped his lips.
With a fake grin, I turned around and acted as if we had no problem, my eyes staring at Alpha Drax at that time.
“Well, thanks! You don’t have to because I was about to go” I responded; gulping in tension.
After millennia the two of us finally started to talk again, but I don’t see guilt in his eyes when I stare deep into his eyes as if the thing he had done to me is not matter. My chest becomes stuffy afterward and I can’t hold to see him or talk with him again so I decide to leave as soon as I can.
“I think I should go! My cousin is waiting for me” I ran my gaze at Harrison and Alpha Drax followed me; he pointed his gaze at him.
But my damn cousin is not helping at all, he still sleeping on the lounge couch and exposing my lies to the world. It made Luna Mira’s son talk again.
“But he’s sleeping, you will feel lonely and if you don’t mind I can keep on guard with you here while waiting for your men to come! My checkpoint is full right now, and I feel you need some company” Alpha Drax offered to help.
“No, no, I’m fine! I felt tired right now so it would be good if I keep on guard while sitting! You can get back to your people, I wouldn’t mind” I refused his offer.
Alpha Drax looked sad the moment after he listened to my refusal, his cheeks slack and his forehead fell to the ground, I felt bad to see him that way, but it does not compare to my pain so I choose to not care and erase those feelings from me.
Without turning back, I make my way toward the house where my cousin Harrison was sleeping; I step into the terrace afterward, and did not dare to look at Alpha Drax who still stood in the street in a freeze.
He was surprised to see my behavior, this meeting is worse than our first meeting and of course, it pissed me off too because I can’t express how I felt about him.
I had no right to tell him that I feel upset because he left me that day and I had no right to instruct him to not leave me again. Moreover, we have never been friends, I don’t even know if he’s my mate or not, and finding out about it is not my thing again, I will forget about him after going back home. Hopefully, I will stop dreaming of him.
My back then rested against the lounge seat, I was sitting right next to Harrison who was still in his deep sleep; I can’t believe I will spend my night with my old enemy.
Luna Mira’s son then left the location. He went back to his spot and five minutes after that, his girl came. My eyes bulged the moment I saw her, quickly lowered my body so that they will not see me observing them.
Diane brought something from the house; my eyes can’t catch what she brought because their spot was far away from me. Then I narrowed my eyes and attempted to see it.
“Fuck this can’t be happening!” I mumbled; woke up from the stupidest thing that I had ever done and turned my face away from the two of them, I felt like I am the dumbest person in the world.
My concern woke Harrison who was in his deep sleep. He pointed his gaze at me the moment he was awake, smirking before rubbing his eyes. Turned out he was faking his sleep.
“I know you’ve been observing our fellow right there” He declared, my heartbeat start to raises after that.
“You talk bullshit!” I rolled my eyes and rested my back against the seat back, pointing my gaze at the ceiling while releasing all the air in my lungs.
“You think I’m stupid, cousin?” Harrison started to remove his back from the seat and face me, the situation was intense and he wasn’t playing.
My mouth shut and my eyes wide opened when I stared at him, it was my first seeing him wrapped in a serious gaze.
“I don’t want you to get along with those people!” He said.
“Why did you care, Harrison?” I inquired, scoffing, I was in disbelief.
“It doesn’t matter, just do what I said” Harrison turned icy cold; his anger and fear disappear the moment after I threw him that question.
Surely, my cousin knows something that I didn’t know and he choose to hide it from me instead of letting me know about it. Harrison then gets back to his lounge seat and rests his head on the seat back.
The place turned quiet after that, I kept my eyes open and guarded the place, my eyes running around the residential area at that time as I wait for the dawn hit our world and the guards to come back.
I can’t fight the urge to not see what was going on at Alpha Drax’s checkpoint, I gulped tensely when I ran my eyes at Harrison, I’m making sure he was sleeping before I run my eyes back to the place where Luna Mira’s son was.
Slowly, I ran my hand closer to my cousin’s face and after reaching it, I wave to see if he was still awake or not. Thanks to the Moon Goddess, Harrison was in his deep sleep so I’m feely to run my eyes everywhere I wanted.
I exhaled in relief the moment I figure out he was sleeping, at full speed, I get my hand away from him after that and gently placed my back on the seat to make a good position for me to snoop afterward.
After finding a nice position, my eyes started to do the job that they should have been doing a long time ago. Harrison truly wasted my time and made me miss everything. By that time, Diane had already left the location.
“Fuck” I mumbled in a low voice, feeling upset because I missed a moment when he was with Diane, then I shut my mouth back because I don’t want to wake the cocky wolf that slept next to me; I squeezed the lounge handle to dispel my rage.
Alpha Drax was standing in his spot at that time and he guarded the residential area with four men around him. Even though he was the youngest, his aura showed that he was the right man to lead his pack.
A gunshot was then heard all over the place, waking up all the people who were in their houses, both Harrison and I immediately get up from our seats after hearing the gunshot.
“What happened?” A civilian who just got out of her house asked both Harrison and me who was still on the terrace, she held her son in her arms, her voice shaking.
“I think you need to stay inside!” I demanded, trying to calm her down, by that time people had already gathered in the streets.
The Red-Blood guards who guarded me earlier finally got back, but there was only one of them at that time because the rest were still on duty near the entrance.
“What noises was that? Is that a gunshot?” Without wasting time I asked the male guard, by that time I had already stepped off the terrace and so does Harrison behind me; we were walking toward him.
But instead of answering my question, the male guard commanded the civilians to stay inside, he told them there is nothing to worry about and after hearing the guard’s explanation, Alpha Drax then demands his people get back to their houses.
“What is happening?” Harrison who at that time stood next to me asked the guard.
The male guard then explained there are rogues around the hill and they attacked us because we get into their territory.
“What? It’s our land” Harrison scoffed; he then smoothed out his jacket. “I’m going to put them down, you in?” He asked me if I want to join him or not; Harrison was ready to leave the location and went to the entrance area.
But then the guard told both of us that they had already put them down and no rogues are polluting this location again.
“Are you sure they are none of them live anymore?” I inquired in dismay but before the guard could respond; as representative of his people, Alpha Drax come.
He came after managed to convince his people to get back to their houses, at that time all people had already stayed inside and the street is empty, only the one on duty stay still at the location.
“Do we have a problem at the gate?” Alpha Drax asked the guard, I see Harrison’s face turned tight as he sees him coming.
“Nothing, sir, just rogues” The guard responded.
“How about the vampires, are they here too?” Alpha Drax inquired.
The guard then informed us that they still hadn’t found any sign of them and after listening to it, a relieved feeling start to envelop me. I exhaled until the anxiety that had been stored in my chest was gone; nobody is getting harmed here and people are safe from danger.
Alpha Drax got back to his checkpoint afterward, he told his men about the stuff that he just heard from us, and all of them then get back to do their duties to keep the place under control, spotless from the on-edge citizens.
The guard then told me that my father had been waiting for me at the entrance gate area; he was concerned so he sent the guard to get me while informing the people that everything is under control.
“Well, guess we’re done here!” Harrison declared and he kept continuing. “I don’t like this location either, let’s go!” He said with a tight face.
Harrison started pulling away from the location, leaving the guard and me behind. But before he makes his step, my cousin looked toward Luna Mira’s son which makes me even more interested in what happened between them.
