CHAPTER 57: The Vulnerable Soul

Luna Mira’s son ordered his guards to take the desperate woman to the place she belongs and without wasting any more time, the guards immediately took her with them.

They made her eyes face the ground and tied both of her hands; her arms were placed on her back and the guards shut her mouth with a cloth that moment.

She can do nothing to defend herself anymore, only submission filled every inch of her face but relief also covered her face after she noticed that the guards will take her back home.

They will send her back to Rockwood and leave the rest to the local government, only the Moon Goddess knows what those people will do to her after she went back, but sure, that must be not a good thing.

Not only ashamed of all the Night-Blood’s pack members because of her drama, but she also shot Luna Mira’s son. Even though he is not dead in that accident but still, that woman had to take responsibility for her action.

My father then came with guards surrounding him, they hugged weapon in their arms and was ready to take action after hearing the last gunshot from the location; at that moment my father thought the circumstance was getting serious so he came to help.

He was surprised when he saw me standing right next to the woman who caused the commotion. At that time the Night-Blood guards still had not lifted the woman off the ground yet.

At a full speed, my father walked toward me, he looked upset when he saw me get involved in the Night-Blood drama instead of getting back to the gate checkpoint. But his temper lowered after realizing what I did had some benefits for us.

The Night-Blood will easily vote for me after seeing my concern for their troubles. I gained their sympathy and showed them that I care about their people.

And when the Night-Blood guards noticed my father’s presence, they immediately lifted the woman from the ground and hold her in her arms with their muscular arms, making that woman can’t move even if it was just one centimeter.

Luna Mira then approached my father, she told him that they will send that woman back to Rockwood but to make it happen, Luna Mira needed our help. She demanded my father grant them some of our guards to help them.

With a heavy heart, my father accepted her request. He did that not because he cared about them, but because that thing benefits us as vote seekers.

He told Luna Mira that he will let ten of the Red-Blood guards go with them, but with the condition that they must return before the night because this place will need guards after nightfall. The agreement deal, our guards then go with them.

“I think everything is clear, thank you for the help…” Luna Mira said to my father.

Alpha Adrian said nothing at that moment. He just stared at Luna Mira until he forget that his daughter was standing next to him and after staring at each other for minutes, both of them turn their gazes away from each other and get back to reality.

My father became vulnerable when he was around Luna Mira, he was also against the queen just to help the Night-Blood and my question is, is this really being done for political purposes, or does he still have feelings for Luna Mira?

The time will answer those questions, same as the questions that renting free in my head about Alpha Drax that is he belongs to me or not?

The Night-Blood then gets back to the residential area. At that time Luna Mira has to command her people that the situation that just happening in this place should not be happening again, she and her son then immediately left the location to discuss with the Rockwood people about this.

Now only my father and some of our guards stay in the location, we watched both Luna Mira and her son leave the spot and went to the field not far from our location with all of the people they bring here.

“Do not risk yourself again!” My father stated after making sure the location is secure from the Night Blood. “The bullet might have landed on your chest instead of that guy, be careful in what you did!” My father sounded fed up.

“Yes, father, I won’t be careless anymore” I responded; my head facing the ground at that time and I regretted my action.

“Good! Now we have something to discuss” My father said.

All of us then went to the mansion because that location is the only location that far from the Night-Blood crowd and nobody dares to step into the mansion except the land owner, the Red-Blood.

As we reached the location, Harrison La Luna and his father were there, including the La Luna guards around them, they were also in a meeting.

My father and I then get into the mansion and went straight to the meeting room which was located on the second floor.

We finally reached the meeting room after a couple of minutes of walking through the corridor, the guards watched the meeting room from the outside while my father and I went inside together.

He then pleased me to take a seat and I can’t believe even the meeting room is as clean as the Red-Blood palace, I then take a seat and rest my back against the couch.

“Is it just me or do I feel somebody lived here before?” I said as I felt the cozy couch touch my back.

“The rogues might…” My father responded but he sounded serious, by that time he was still standing, and was about to take a seat.

My father sitting on the black cozy single couch located in front of the couch I was sitting on, his arms rested against the couch handle and after finding a good position, he then started the conversation.

The room temperature was icy cold, plus my father’s tight face made everything cooler, not only my skin froze at that time, but also my organs.

“Do you have any idea why we were here?” He started the conversation with a question.

“No, father, I have no clue” I tensely replied.

My father then told me that they had problems with the installation of the electrical defense gate. Our guards just got back from the first location and bring the tools we needed but unfortunately, they still can’t turn the power on.

So to make this place works again, the guards had to get back to the city center and bring the new tools, they will start walking off from this place this noon so that they will arrive at Ascot River tomorrow morning.

My father then told me that I should go back with the guard this noon and stay in the palace with the queen until my father comes back. Alpha Adrian was concerned for my safety, even though we got weapons and powerful men; he still can’t risk my safety.

“No, I wouldn’t leave without you” I resisted my father’s demand; at that time my voice was raised when I spoke.

“Please understand, this place is not secure, the rogues could attack at any time, and even the vampires might come through the Ascot woods! I can't risk your safety” He calmly replied.

“I believe our guards can handle it” I responded.

“I just handed ten guards to the Night-Blood! There’s not even thirty of us now, not to mention I’ll be sending guards back into town to get the tools this place need” My father explained; he tried to make me understand.

I kept standing in my stance and telling my father that I will not be going back to the town without him, I did that on purpose, not because I wanted him to go back with me, but because I still had unfinished business here.

Harrison La Luna will win the test if I let him stay in Ascot River, he will show me that he kiss the girl when he gets back to Eden Spring, then I will be the loser and ruin my family’s plan.

“Father, I can protect myself!” I said convincingly.

“You’re not ready for this circumstance! You have to go back to Eden Spring this noon” He declared, still demanding I agree with him.

“How about our plan, you will ask for votes in the absence of the candidate. For sure, they will vote Harrison La Luna!” I scoffed, shaking my head in annoyance to convince my father that I insist on staying because of the plan, not because of other matters.

I then convince him again that my presence is really important to get the vote because they would judge my kindness and the thing that I had done for their people firsthand, without action, they will randomly choose and we will lose voice.

  “You’re right…”
