Beta Benjamin was pouring his heart out at that moment and my heart broke into pieces the moment I heard those words escape his lips. At that time only a glaze of pain I see in his eyes and there were no more bright smiles on his face, the lamentation of guilt and force to restore the dignity of the pack melted into one in his eyes.

　　With a heavy breath, I then move closer to him and sat right next to him, by that time there is no distance between us anymore, and even though I’m only seventeen, the pain that he got in his chest affected me.

　　I understand his pain by just staring deep into his suffering eyes, my roomy chest immediately turned stuffy afterward, and with a pouty face, I then started my word.

　　“That wasn’t your fault to kill her because she said something which triggered you that day...” I said, trying to comfort Beta Benjamin. 

　　I then placed my arms around his shoulder and pulled him closer to me, I made him rest his head on my shoulder then I hugged him for settling him down.

　　“Being a Red-Blood is not easy… People hated us and cursed us! I don’t even know what is right or not anymore” I said and I kept going, at that time Beta Benjamin and I pointed our gazes right to the front and stared at the fireflies that fly around us.

　　“On the other hand, we are against what our ancestors did in the past, but we also have to continue the empire that they build before we were born” I declared.

　　Then Beta Benjamin removed his head from my shoulder and started to look at me. Our eyes were looking at each other afterward. We shared our pain and rebellion by just looking deep into each other’s eyes. 

　　“We got no choice, brother” I stated with slight grief in my voice. 

　　“We are raised to kill, steal somebody’s land, and obey the queen!” I said. 

　　After that, the word that I had never heard from any members of the Red-Blood pack escapes Beta Benjamin’s lips.

　　“You can change that!” He said. 

　　My eyes bulged after listening to his words and I was shocked because the words he said were so unbelievable in my ears.

　　“You are the future queen of the Red-Blood pack” Beta Benjamin declared, he kept continuing. 

　　“You had the power to put harmony back into our life! So please, do what you think is right! Get the throne, I will help you” He said. 

　　Finally, there is someone who agrees with me the way my mother does. The Red-Blood pack needs to change for a better future. But I can take risks by telling Beta Benjamin about my plan, so I fake my disagreement to see his reaction, I was afraid he tells those words in Queen Hermione’s instruction in order to test me. 

　　“I am not sure if I can…” I convincingly started my word. 

　　“I mean, the Red-Blood pack did this to survive! We ruled Eden Spring so no one dare to step on our faces. We also become the strongest pack and lead this place! If we submit, then the other packs in this city will rebel and take over Eden Spring” I declared. 

　　After saying those words, my brain started to realize that my word has some truth in it, and my kindness maybe could cause chaos in Eden Spring. Our ancestors might be right in choosing violence to survive because if we’re not, maybe we are all under the Moon Knight pack today. 

　　“But, I will think about it! Don’t worry” I tensely chuckled; still thinking about what I said earlier, the goodness and wickedness mixed into one in my brain that moment.

　　“Glad you still had some good in you” Beta Benjamin chuckled, the gloomy atmosphere turned bright after that. He smiled after hearing my words. 

　　When the two of us were talking in the woods, my sense of hearing spotted a scream not far from us, my ass immediately off the rock as I heard the scream.

　　“Did you hear that?” I inquired in dismay, Beta Benjamin then got off the rock. 

　　“Yes, I heard a scream…” He responded. “A child's scream” Beta Benjamin said. 

　　“Oh, no, it came from the woods” I started to get panic when I realize somebody’s child might enter the woods by itself.

　　Realizing the child might be in danger, Beta Benjamin and I quickly leave the spot, we run out as quickly as we can to find the scream source. My eyes ran around the woods as I ran, trying to spot the child. Then the two of us stopped in the middle of the woods, the first location where Beta Benjamin and I separate earlier. 

　　“Did you hear something again?” Beta Benjamin asked.

　　“Nope, the last scream was the last thing I heard since we left the last location” I replied. 

　　My breath was panting when I spoke and both of my hands rested on my knees, the adrenaline that I got from running in a rush earlier killed all the energy that I had in my body.

　　“Ah!” 

　　The scream came back and this time it was louder than it used to be, after hearing the child’s scream, Beta Benjamin and I move away from the location.

　　We ran back to the location where Beta Benjamin played pretended to be the rogue earlier and terrified me. My sense of hearing spotted the scream location in the place where I was earlier, at that time I lead the way because nothing could beat my sense of hearing ability but when the two of us reached the location, the scream stopped. 

　　“Hello?” 

　　My voice was louder than it used to be, I tried to notify the child that we were there to help the child who screamed back then. 

　　“Hello, are you there? Answer me!” 

　　I kept trying to notify the child but it is been minutes since we got here and the child shows no response. It made both Beta Benjamin and I worried, I was shaking, thinking about the child’s safety. 

　　“Did you feel something, Beta Benjamin? A movement from a living creature” I inquired worriedly. 

　　Beta Benjamin has the ability to detect movement around; he can also smell the approaching enemy which is rare among werewolves. He then told me that he did not feel any movement around this location.

　　“That’s weird...” I said. “Are you sure you didn’t spot any movement here?” I inquired, my eyes running around the place, I was confused so did he.

　　“Positive, I heard nothing!” Beta Benjamin replied.
