I then whispered to her my plan, telling her that she needs to take me to her brother’s room tonight. After listening to my plan, Demi agreed.
“He’s coming!” Demi quickly got off the ground after realizing that her brother was making his way toward us, she then acted as if I was her slave.
“Go clean my room after this!” She snapped at me and her brother seemed to hear that, after yelling at me, Demi then leaves.
Alpha Drax standing right in front of me after reaching the location, took a deep inhale before starting his words.
“You missed your food again… It’s been days you have eaten nothing” He said.
I scoffed in disbelief, shaking my head in disgust after hearing his voice, after that, I get up from the ground and stared at him with rage in my eyes.
“I don’t need to be fed! Why do you care anyway?” I growled.
After my response, he turned to silence but his eyes stared at me as if he cared about me, Alpha Drax had love in his eyes but I’m not sure for whom that love was.
“Sorry, my time is up, I need to get back and do my job! Thank you, my king, for your concern…” I smiled and bowed, paying my respect to the future leader of the Night-Blood pack.
“I will grab my plate but in your dreams!” I spat on the ground and disrespect him.
Without turning back, I left the location and went to the Night-Blood mansion, doing my job as I waited for the night to hit the ground. Hopefully, I can make things right tonight and find the truth.
The night I’d been waiting for finally arrives, I sneaked out of my room in the middle of the night when everyone was asleep, even my bunkmate has no idea if I wasn’t in my place on that nice midnight; I made a fake body with a pillow underneath the blanket and trick her.
As I walked slowly with my eyes darting around, I noticed Demi waiting for me in front of her room. She was concerned because I didn’t arrive on time that night.
“Where have you been?” She asked in dismay.
“My roommate slept late tonight so I need to wait for them to sleep before going here” I whispered.
Demi and I began to leave the location; her brother’s room is on the third floor; at that time, Demi and I had to walk through the emergency stairs so that none of the guards would notice us; after a few minutes of walking, the two of us arrived at the third floor.
Our gaze peered through the half-opened emergency door that separated us from the third-floor area, which was still surrounded by a few guards at the time.
“What should we do?” I inquired in a whisper.
Demi's eyes couldn't stop observing the situation at that point, so the two of us decided to wait for the guards to leave before exiting the emergency stairs area. After Alpha Drax summoned them, they all retreated.
Demi informed me that her brother and the guards will be in downtown tonight, so this mansion will be completely empty, with only a few guards remaining to guard the outside, leaving Demi and me safe.
We exited the emergency room after ensuring that the area was clear and then ran to Alpha Drax’s room, but to no avail, he locked his room.
“Shit, he must be kidding me!” Demi mumbled as she tried to open the door, the place was dark at that time and it struggle us.
“Do you have any hairpins?” I inquired and without wasting any more time, Demi gave me what she got in her hair. “Thank, Moon Goddess!” I said in relief.
I then tried something I learned when I was seven, opening the locked door, but on that day it was my mother’s wardrobe, not a real room like today, I put the hairpin into the door lock and tried to open the shield, clicking on the door knob to open it, my efforts paid off, we managed to open the door without damaging it after trying our hardest.
Demi and I rush into her brother’s room, locking the door and turning off the lights so no one will suspect our presence; thankfully, I have a flashlight with me.
“So, from where do we start?” She tensely asked.
“Let’s start from his work desk!” I responded, pointing to the work desk with the flashlight.
Demi and I had been rummaging in her brother's room for an hour, but we found nothing and as we were about to leave his room and go to another, my foot hit something and stopped me.
It turned out to be the proof of Diane’s death that we had been looking for and Demi’s brother had been keeping the proof under his bed and telling no one about it all this time.
“Let’s go! The guards are coming” Demi whispered; at that time she still had no idea that I found something.
I took the proof with me and ran out of the room, Demi and I then ran back to the emergency stairs and locked the area.
“Did you find something?” She asked under her breath.
I lied to Demi and told her that I found nothing, after that I told her to continue the scanning tomorrow, I did that because I was afraid that maybe she had something to do with the death, I choose to trust no one.
We both then got back to our room. I locked my room and walked in silence, holding the thing that I found earlier, and walked toward the single couch next to the window, I sat afterward and started to scan through the truth I found.
After finding out the truth, I ran out of the room and went to Demi’s room, knocking on the door in dismay and she finally opened it.
“What’s wrong?” She asked as she locked the door.
I placed the book I found on the table and showed it to her; it turned out that Alpha Drax and Diane had been working together to steal the Red-Blood family treasure all along, which is why he approached me at first after we met.
“Did my mother know about this?” Demi asked.
“I don’t think so” I replied; we then went through the next page of the book.
“Look, in the old Night-Blood holy book said that the treasure was theirs… That means the treasure belongs to us” Demi declared.
At that moment, nothing could describe how surprised I was. After finding out the truth about my family stealing the Night-Blood treasure, I felt ashamed of myself.
“But the treasure had been with us in decade… How could it belong to your people?” I wondered. “Maybe they removed it from your history and your brother finds out about this...” I said.
“But where did he find this?” Demi asked.
“I don’t know, I think you need to talk to your mother about this” I replied.
Demi asked me to accompany her, and I couldn't help but agree. The two of us then walked to the Night-Blood library, where Luna Mira had always spent her nights; it was on the same floor as Demi's room.
Luna Mira detects our presence; Demi and I rush into the library and lock the door; she waits for us in her seat and invites us to take a seat after.
“I expect you two to come earlier…” Luna Mira said.
