LYDIA'S POV
I awoke from a deep slumber, disoriented and perplexed by my unfamiliar surroundings. Sensing something was amiss, I rose from the bed and made my way to a nearby mirror.
My reflection greeted me, but it was not the image I expected. I beheld the visage of a younger version of myself, innocence radiating from my features. Confusion washed over me as I grappled with the realization of my altered appearance.
As I tried to piece together my fragmented memories, I recalled growing up in the North Light Pack, tethered to my past by a single necklace. Yet, the events leading to my current state remained shrouded in mystery, eluding my grasp
Venturing outside the unfamiliar room, I navigated the corridors with an eerie sense of familiarity. Despite my confusion, a sense of belonging enveloped me, guiding my steps through the labyrinthine passages.
A voice broke through my thoughts, drawing my attention to an elderly woman standing before me. Her presence invoked a faint sense of recognition, though I struggled to place her.
"Excuse me, do you know me?" I queried, my voice betraying my uncertainty.
The woman regarded me with a gentle smile, her eyes brimming with warmth. "Lydia, are you sleepwalking again?" she inquired, her tone laced with concern.
Startled by her response, I denied the accusation, perplexed by her familiarity with my name. As she gathered me in her arms, a sense of comfort washed over me, tinged with a faint glimmer of recognition.
"Where are you taking me?" I questioned, a note of apprehension creeping into my voice.
"What do you mean? I am taking you to your parent's room; they'll know how to deal with a curious cat like yourself." She booped my nose, and I caressed it, slightly offended by her casual tone.
She knocked on a door, and we waited until a tall man, shrouded in the night's darkness, opened it. Though his face remained obscured, I sensed a familiarity in his presence.
"Your majesty, someone was being naughty again," the woman said, passing me into the man's arms.
He chuckled and shook his head, his voice resonating with a strange familiarity. "Of course she was. I don't expect her to stay still in her bed for long."
"Hey, I am still here," I piped up in my childlike voice, interrupting their conversation.
They both paused, sharing a laugh at my interruption. After exchanging a few more words, the man carried me into his room and gently placed me beside a sleeping woman.
"Now, I want you to stay silent; your mother is tired and needs her rest," he whispered softly, and I blinked in surprise.
"Something is not right," I murmured.
"What is going on?" A lady questioned, "Lydia, what are you doing here?" She asked again in a sleepy voice.
"I think our daughter was having nightmares, my dear please can you give that locket to our daughter, she sleeps well when she wears it."
My mother made me wear the necklace that reminded me of the cruelties of members of North Light Pack and this same necklace is what gave me comfort all these years.
"How does this necklace work father?" I questioned.
"You see it has special powers and it only work when a special person like yourself is wearing it. It will give you the strength you need when the times are tough." He answered.
"Even when I am having nightmares?" I questioned and he laughed.
"Yes…even when you are having nightmares."
Soon the scenery before me faded into nothing and soon I felt the darkness of unconsciousness enveloping me.
Suddenly I sensed a strange but calming presence around me, sparks flowed through my entire body and even though I tried to move myself, I couldn't.
I felt someone lifting me and carrying on a cloud of snow.
A new kind of contentment flowed through my body making me forget everything.
When I woke up again, I found myself in a cozy little house, and I could feel the same contentment from my dream lingering even now.
I looked around and noticed two handsome figures, the same ones I saw before fainting in the forest.
A blush crept onto my cheeks as I realized their eyes were fixed on me, but it was the pin-drop silence in the room that made me uneasy.
Squirming in my bed, uncomfortable under their unwavering gaze, I mustered the courage to speak up.
"Who...who are you?" I questioned, but the lack of response prompted me to sit up, breaking them from their thoughts.
They rushed towards me, and on instinct, I pushed them back, afraid of their intentions.
"Hey...hey, relax. We saved you last night. We're not going to hurt you," one of them assured me, and I relaxed slightly.
"Saved me?" I echoed, recalling the events from the night before.
"Yes. You fainted while hiding from a group of boys. Luckily, we found you in time," he explained.
Memories flooded back, and I remembered seeing their blurry faces before losing consciousness. "Can we ask you something, prin- I mean...ma'am?" the other man inquired, and I nodded hesitantly, unsure if I could trust them. "When we found you, you were only wearing that necklace around your neck, and even now, you were shouting in your sleep while clutching it. How did you get it? Does it originally belong to you?" he asked, and I furrowed my brows.
I found their questioned strange.
"Yes, I am the original owner of this necklace. It has been with me forever, I guess. I believe my parents gave it to me when I was little, but now I'm not sure anymore," I explained, shrugging.
The men exchanged glances, a strange emotion flickering in their eyes. "So...it's really you. We finally found you, Princess," one of them exclaimed.
"Princess?" I repeated, puzzled.
"Yes, you're our Princess Lydia, and we've been looking for you. Your father is waiting for you, Princess. It's time for you to come with us," they said cheerfully, but I frowned in confusion.
"I think you're mistaken. I-I'm not a princess. I'm just an ordinary omega wolf, or maybe a rogue now," I muttered, feeling ashamed of my identity.
Is this some kind of trap, I can't be a princess? I have been cleaning, cooking and leading a normal omega life from ever since I could remember, I thought to myself, avoiding the truth and the strange situation.
Seizing my chance while they were busy discussing something, I decided to run away. Unsure of my location or destination, I couldn't allow anyone to deceive me anymore. As I stepped outside into the sunlight, the world spun around me, causing me to stumble and collapse onto the ground. Was it the fever or the medicine they gave me? Everything turned dark, and I lost consciousness once more.
