LYDIA'S POV
As I stepped into the shrine, the air seemed to hum with a strange energy, sending shivers down my spine. Every fiber of my being was on high alert, my heart pounding in my chest as I navigated the unfamiliar surroundings.
With each step, the sense of unease grew, my senses straining to detect any hint of danger. I had no idea where I was supposed to go or what awaited me within the depths of the shrine. All I could do was trust my instincts and press on, my determination outweighing my fear.
As I wandered deeper into the shrine, my eyes scanned the dimly lit surroundings, searching for any sign of significance. That's when I noticed it—a wall adorned with clusters of glowing moss or grass, casting an ethereal light upon the chamber.
Intrigued, I approached the wall, the soft glow beckoning me closer. With cautious curiosity, I reached out to touch the luminous foliage, my fingertips tingling as they made contact with the strange, otherworldly substance.
To my astonishment, the wall suddenly shifted and parted before me, revealing a hidden passage beyond. I gasped in shock, my heart racing as I stared into the darkness beyond. It was as if the shrine itself was guiding me forward, urging me to explore its secrets.
Taking a deep breath to steady my nerves, I hesitated for only a moment before stepping through the opening, my senses ablaze with anticipation.
The hall stretched out before me, its grandeur and ancient aura palpable in the air. My eyes were drawn to the center of the room, where a tall mirror stood, its surface shimmering with an otherworldly light. Something about it called to me, drawing me closer with an irresistible pull.
As I approached the mirror, I couldn't shake the feeling of anticipation that coursed through me. It was as if the mirror held some profound secret, waiting to be unveiled. With each step, the mirror seemed to come alive, its surface rippling like water, reflecting the flickering torchlight in mesmerizing patterns.
Mesmerized, I reached out a trembling hand, hesitating for just a moment before making contact with the cool surface of the mirror. To my surprise, the waves within the mirror parted, revealing a figure standing on the other side.
My breath caught in my throat as I gazed upon the apparition before me. It was my father—or rather, his soul captured within the depths of the mirror. His youthful visage looked back at me with warmth and affection, a bittersweet smile playing at the corners of his lips.
For a moment, I was speechless, my heart overflowing with a tumult of emotions. Tears pricked at my eyes as I struggled to comprehend the sight before me. Was this truly my father, or some trick of the shrine's magic?
But as he spoke, his voice filled with love and familiarity, all doubts melted away. It was him, my beloved father, reaching out to me from beyond the veil of death. With a sob of joy, I reached out to touch the surface of the mirror, feeling the warmth of his presence envelop me in a comforting embrace.
"Daddy..." I whispered, my voice choked with emotion. "Is it really you?"
He chuckled softly, the sound echoing through the chamber like a gentle breeze. "Yes, my darling daughter," he replied, his voice filled with tenderness. "It is me, your father. I've been watching over you, always."
Tears streamed down my cheeks as I gazed at him, my heart overflowing with love and longing. In that moment, the distance between us seemed to vanish, bridged by the unbreakable bond of family.
"I really miss you," I whisper.
"I know my love, but you have to be strong. Actually that's a wrong statement, you are strong you just have to find that strength inside you." He said.
"But I can't do it without you," I replied.
"Yes, you can. This shrine was built for the true Lycans only, do you know why it was built?" I shook my head.
"Whenever the balance between all the species disturbs or whenever a true Lycan lineage is in danger this shrine will appear for them only. This shrine guides Lycan like you, to make you realise how strong you are and true value of your power and responsibility. Your strength can save many lives if used wisely, but it can also turn into a disaster if you don't make right decisions and since you are my daughter I trust you completely, you have your mother's patience and the sense of justice. You are perfect combination of what this kingdom needs. You can restore the balance between all the clans. I trust you my daughter, it is time for me to leave but before leaving I only want to say that trust yourself, don't deny what you are, embrace it." And with that he simply vanished.
I watched in awe as the structure disintegrated before my eyes, knowing that its purpose had been fulfilled. It had served its intended function, guiding me along the path to self-discovery and enlightenment.
With a sense of closure, I turned away from the ruins of the shrine, ready to embrace the challenges that lay ahead. Armed with the wisdom imparted to me by my father and the strength of my Lycan heritage, I stepped forward into the unknown, determined to fulfill my destiny and restore balance to our world.
