LYDIA'S POV
As I stepped out of the shrine, the remnants of its ancient structure crumbling behind me, I was greeted by the sight of my companions, their eyes alight with admiration and respect. Despite the shrine's sudden collapse, I could feel the weight of their silent approval, their unspoken acknowledgment of the journey I had just undertaken.
Brandon and Evan approached me, concern etched upon their faces as they checked to ensure I was unharmed. But I felt more than just physically fine—I felt invigorated, empowered by the words of my father and the knowledge that I had faced the trials of the shrine and emerged stronger for it.
"Are you alright, Lydia, what happened in there?" Brandon asked, his voice filled with genuine concern.
"Were you hurt? Did you find something or someone?" Evan questioned.
I offered him a reassuring smile. "I'm more than alright, Brandon. I feel better than I ever have before," I replied, the conviction in my voice surprising even myself.
Evan nodded in agreement, his expression reflecting a mixture of pride and admiration. "You faced the shrine with courage and determination, Lydia. Your father would be proud," he said, his words echoing the sentiments I had felt deep within my heart.
Yes, I know he would be.
Afterall, it was him I met inside.
Even if it was not the real him but just his reflection, I was okay with that as well.
As I glanced around at the assembled wolves, I could see the respect and pride reflected in their eyes. It was a humbling realization, knowing that I had earned their admiration through my actions.
"My father's words have shown me the path forward, his faith in me and his sacrifices are the reasons that I am still alive," I said, my voice ringing with newfound conviction. "I may not have all the answers, but I am ready to embrace the challenges that lie ahead. With your support, I know we can overcome any obstacle."
Brandon and Evan exchanged a meaningful glance before turning back to me, their expressions filled with unwavering determination.
"And we know that you'll prove your worth, we believe in you," Brandon said, his voice echoing the sentiment shared by all.
With my companions by my side and the memory of my father's guidance guiding me forward, I knew that together, we could face whatever trials awaited us. And as we prepared to embark on the next chapter of our journey, I felt a sense of purpose and resolve unlike anything I had ever known before.
Surrounded by my fellow teammates and curious wolves, I found myself bombarded with questions about my experience inside the shrine. Each inquiry seemed to come from a place of genuine curiosity and eagerness to understand the significance of the place I had just emerged from.
"What happened in there, Lydia? Did you find something?" one wolf asked, his eyes wide with anticipation.
Taking a moment to gather my thoughts, I began to explain the importance of the shrine. "The shrine is a sacred place for wolves whose hearts are true and intentions pure," I started, my voice carrying a solemn weight. "It holds the wisdom of our ancestors and serves as a guide for those who seek to uphold the values of our kind, it was made for our kind mainly to guide us and to restore unity among us."
Another wolf interjected, curiosity evident in his tone. "Did you find the Moon Goddess within the shrine?"
I shook my head, a wistful smile playing at my lips. "No, I did not encounter the Moon Goddess. It was not the Moon Goddess who made the shrine, then how can I find her inside, it was the reflection of our ancestors and the knowledge they shared with me about our kind, I did found the revelations and truths that I was not prepared for and but it was eye opener and it did prepare me for the future," I admitted, my gaze drifting back to the now-collapsed structure of the shrine.
Sensing the tension in the air, one wolf spoke up, his voice filled with reassurance. "Lydia, you have the true Lycan blood running through your veins. There is nothing for you to fear."
His words sparked a soft chuckle from me, though it was tinged with a hint of irony. "Perhaps, but even those with the strongest of bloodlines can feel fear," I replied, my tone reflecting a sense of introspection. "What I encountered in that shrine was not physical danger, but rather the weight of responsibility and the uncertainty of what lies ahead, even after having Lycan blood doesn't make fearless but that place taught me how to recognise the strength that reside inside me and to use that to fight my fears. Don't consider me a Lycan blood, I want to be your friend before becoming the ruler of this kingdom, I don't want to follow the traditions, rather I want to create my own identity as a ruler and for that I want you all to treat me equally as others. I am here to prove my worth just like all of you."
As the conversations around me continued, my mind remained preoccupied with the profound encounter I had experienced inside the shrine. The memory of my father's presence, his words of encouragement, and the hope reflected in his eyes lingered in my thoughts, stirring a whirlwind of emotions within me.
It was difficult to articulate the depth of what I felt in that moment—seeing my father once again, even if it was only his soul, and feeling the weight of his expectations for me as a leader. His belief in my abilities and his unwavering support filled me with both determination and a sense of responsibility unlike any I had felt before.
Amidst the chatter and inquiries from my fellow wolves, I found myself grappling with the significance of my encounter. How could I convey the profound impact it had on me? How could I express the mix of emotions—hope, doubt, determination—that swirled within me?
As I spoke, I could see the understanding dawning in the eyes of my companions. They may not have fully grasped the depth of my experience, but they respected the journey I had undertaken nonetheless.
With the conversation winding down, I felt a sense of gratitude wash over me for the support and camaraderie of my fellow wolves.
As the atmosphere around me shifted, even the Omegas, who had harbored resentment towards nobles and royalty, began to show signs of trust and respect. It was a subtle but significant change, one that spoke volumes about the impact of recent events on our collective mindset.
With a newfound sense of unity and purpose, I addressed the assembled wolves, my voice steady and resolute. "I understand the doubts and reservations that some of you may still harbor," I began, acknowledging the lingering tensions that had divided us in the past. "But I want to assure you all that if I emerge victorious in this assessment, I will not only lead with integrity and fairness, but I will also strive to bridge the divide between us."
There was a murmur of agreement and approval from the crowd, their eyes reflecting a glimmer of hope and anticipation.
