CHAPTER 109 Their Surrender

  LYDIA'S POV

"Powerless young girl, huh? Well, they are about to see my true power." I smirked, a fierce determination settling over me. I knew what was coming, and I was ready for it.

As we stood on the battlements, the enemy forces approaching like a dark tide, I felt the presence of my allies gathering outside the palace walls. The fiercest warriors of the West River Pack, known for their unmatched strength and loyalty, had come to protect me. Their leader, Alpha Marcus, had pledged his support, and his warriors were ready for battle.

The enemy's confidence faltered as they saw the imposing figures of the West River Pack warriors standing ready, their presence a clear message: we were not alone, and we would not be easily defeated.

"Evan, Brandon," I called, turning to my trusted friends. "Let's give them a show they'll never forget."

As the first wave of the enemy's attack began, our archers released a volley of arrows, meeting the incoming projectiles in midair. The clang of metal against metal filled the air as our soldiers engaged the enemy at the gates. The West River Pack warriors, with their superior strength and combat skills, tore through the enemy ranks, their growls and roars echoing through the battlefield.

I moved with purpose, cutting down any noble foolish enough to stand in my way. My lycan bloodline gave me an edge, my movements swift and powerful. Evan and Brandon fought beside me, their blades flashing in the chaos.

"Lydia!" Evan shouted over the din of battle, pointing towards a group of radical nobles who were directing the attack from the rear. "Those are the leaders. We need to take them out."

"On it," I replied, my eyes narrowing on the target. "Let's end this."

We pushed through the throng of soldiers, making our way towards the radical nobles. They saw us coming and tried to retreat, but there was no escape. With a burst of speed, I leaped forward, landing in front of them.

"Did you think you could overthrow me so easily?" I asked, my voice cold and commanding. "You underestimated me, and now you'll pay the price."

One of the nobles, a tall man with a sneer on his face, drew his sword. "You're just a girl playing at being a leader," he spat. "You don't have what it takes to rule."

I didn't bother with a reply. Instead, I struck, my blade slicing through the air with deadly precision. The noble's eyes widened in shock as he fell, his blood staining the ground.

The other nobles tried to flee, but Evan and Brandon were on them in an instant. The confrontation was brutal and swift. Within moments, the radical nobles lay dead, their rebellion crushed.

As the dust settled, the remaining enemy forces began to retreat, their morale shattered. The battlefield fell silent, the only sound the heavy breathing of our warriors and the distant cries of the fleeing soldiers.

The following day, as the sun rose over the battered palace, a delegation of nobles arrived. These were not the radicals who had sought my death, but a more moderate faction, their faces pale and drawn with fear and uncertainty.

"Princess Lydia," one of them began, bowing low. "We have seen your strength and your resolve. We wish for peace. We surrender all our wealth and power to you."

I studied them, my gaze unwavering. "You sought to undermine my authority and harm my people. Why should I trust you now?"

The noble who had spoken swallowed hard. "We were misled by those who thought you weak. We see now that you are anything but. Please, show mercy. We wish to serve you."

I exchanged a glance with Evan and Brandon, both of whom nodded slightly. Turning back to the nobles, I said, "Very well. I accept your surrender. But know this: I will not tolerate any further treachery. If you truly seek peace, you will work to rebuild what was damaged and support the people you once sought to control."

The nobles bowed again, their relief palpable. "Thank you, Princess Lydia. We will not disappoint you."

As they departed, I felt a weight lift from my shoulders. The threat had been dealt with, and we had secured a tenuous peace. But I knew this was only the beginning. There would be more challenges ahead, more battles to fight. But with allies like Evan, Brandon, and the West River Pack by my side, I was ready for whatever came next.

Walking through the palace grounds, I saw the soldiers and citizens looking at me with a mixture of respect and awe. I had earned their trust and their loyalty, not just through my birthright, but through my actions.
