LYDIA'S POV
I took a deep breath, gathering my thoughts. "Odin, we're here because we need your help. Oleg has taken over the kingdom, and he's poisoned it with his corruption and greed. He's framed my father, Rufus, for crimes he didn't commit and has been slowly destroying the kingdom from the inside. We've gathered evidence of his crimes, but we need the support of all the packs to stand a chance against him."
Odin's eyes narrowed slightly, and he nodded. "I've heard whispers of unrest, but I didn't realize it was this severe. I heard about you though, I wasn't shocked when I discovered that you were the royal heir during the assessment, even without using your powers your leadership quality was commendable. Your heart is in the right place, I could tell, that's why I befriended you. I intended to meet you when I heard that you were falsely accused of framing the fake princess."
"How are you so sure that Fiona is the fake princess? How can you trust me so easily?" I questioned.
"Because action speaks louder than words. I don't know Fiona but I do know you and I have seen you. The kingdom needs someone like you and by seeing your determination, I can see that you still want only the best for the kingdom. Only a true leader has these qualities. I still need to see the evidence to get the idea of what we are dealing with."
I handed him a stack of documents we had copied from the chest. He took them and began to read, his expression growing darker with each page. After a few minutes, he looked up, his eyes filled with a mix of anger and determination.
"This is damning evidence," he said. "But why come to me? The East Night Pack doesn't typically involve itself in the affairs of other packs."
"We need your strength, Odin," I replied. "Your pack is the most stable and powerful. If we're to defeat Oleg, we need all the help we can get. The North and South Packs are already with us, but without the East Night Pack, our chances are slim."
Odin was silent for a moment, then he nodded. "Very well. I'll offer my pack's support, but I want to know everything. Why did Oleg target your father? What are his ultimate goals?"
I explained everything we had discovered—Oleg's embezzlement of funds, the manufacturing of harmful drugs, the mysterious disappearances, and his plan to control the kingdom. Odin listened intently, his expression growing more serious with each revelation.
"When we fought together during the Heir Assessment," Odin said, his voice thoughtful, "I saw a strength in you, Lydia. A determination to do what's right, no matter the cost. That's why I hid my true identity. I needed to see who I could trust, who was truly worthy of being an ally."
I nodded, understanding now why he had kept his secret. "And you proved to be a great friend and ally, even as an Omega."
Odin smiled slightly. "It's easier to see the truth when people think you're not a threat. But now, it's time to use that truth to our advantage. Oleg must be stopped, and with the combined strength of our packs, we have a chance."
Brandon and Evan, who had been listening quietly, stepped forward. "Thank you, Odin," Brandon said. "Your support means everything to us."
Evan nodded. "We need to plan our next move carefully. Oleg is dangerous, and we can't afford any mistakes."
Odin looked at each of us, his eyes filled with resolve. "Then let's not waste any time. We'll return to my pack's territory and gather our forces. Oleg won't know what hit him."
As we prepared to leave, I felt a surge of hope. The journey ahead would be difficult, and the battles would be fierce, but with Odin and the East Night Pack on our side, we had a fighting chance. Together, we would bring Oleg to justice and reclaim the kingdom my father had fought so hard to protect.
However, as we began to discuss our plans further, a thought struck me. "Odin, I appreciate your offer of support, but I think I need to do something alone first."
Odin's eyes narrowed. "What are you thinking, Lydia?"
"I need to confront Oleg on my terms. If I can find out more about his plans or catch him off guard, it could give us the upper hand. I'll need your support, but right now, I need to act quickly and quietly."
Brandon immediately protested. "Lydia, no. It's too dangerous."
Evan nodded in agreement. "You can't face him without your powers."
"I know it's risky," I said, meeting their concerned gazes. "But it's a risk I have to take. This is our best chance to gather crucial information and weaken his position."
Odin looked at me for a long moment before nodding. "I understand. We'll be ready to move at your signal. But be careful, Lydia. Oleg is more dangerous than you can imagine."
"I will," I promised. "Thank you, Odin. And thank you, Brandon and Evan, for your unwavering support. I won't let you down."
With a final nod, I set off into the night, determined to face the darkness head-on. The path ahead was uncertain, but I knew one thing for sure: I would fight with everything I had to restore justice and honor to my father's name and to protect the kingdom from Oleg's tyranny.
