CHAPTER 131 Surrender and Face Justice

  LYDIA'S POV

The tension reached a boiling point, and then the first clash of steel shattered the silence. Chaos erupted in the courtyard as both sides engaged in battle. The sounds of swords clashing, shouts, and the cries of the wounded filled the air.

I fought with every ounce of strength I had, my body moving on instinct and determination. Despite my drained powers, I felt the resilience of my lineage coursing through my veins, giving me the energy I needed to stand my ground.

Oleg, confident in his supposed advantage, charged at me, his sword aimed for my heart. I parried his blow, the force of it sending vibrations through my arms. His eyes burned with rage and madness, his attacks relentless.

"You're a fool, Lydia," he spat, swinging his sword again. "You can't win this. I'll crush you and take what's rightfully mine."

I blocked his strike, countering with a swift kick that knocked him back. "This kingdom will never belong to you, Oleg. The people deserve a ruler who cares about them, not a power-hungry tyrant."

Around us, the battle raged on. Brandon and Evan fought bravely, their strength and skill evident as they defended our position. The clash of steel and the cries of warriors filled the air, a chaotic symphony of struggle and determination.

But as the battle intensified, I began to feel the weight of our predicament. Oleg's forces were closing in on us, their numbers overwhelming. For a moment, doubt crept into my mind. Could we really win this fight? Oleg, with his involvement with the witches, seemed stronger than before, his attacks more forceful and precise.

Just when it seemed like all hope was slipping away, a loud trumpet blast echoed through the palace grounds, cutting through the din of battle. Everyone, friend and foe alike, turned to look outside.

Through the windows and open doors, we saw a new force storming the palace. Warriors clad in armor and bearing the colors of the East Night Pack surged forward, their formation tight and their resolve unwavering. At their head was Odin's beta, his presence commanding and fierce along with the armies from the other packs also arrived with their betas leading them towards palace.

"Woah!" I exclaimed, a mixture of relief and disbelief in my voice.

He raised his sword high, his voice booming over the battlefield. "Reinforcements have arrived! For Lydia and the kingdom!"

The sight of the warriors from all the three packs and their betas reinvigorated our own forces. Brandon and Evan, bolstered by the unexpected support, redoubled their efforts. The tide of battle began to turn in our favor, the momentum shifting as our allies pushed back Oleg's troops.

Oleg's face twisted in rage and desperation. "No! This can't be happening!"

I seized the opportunity, lunging at Oleg with renewed strength. Our swords clashed, the force of the impact reverberating through my arms. "This is the end, Oleg. You will not win."

He snarled, his eyes wild with madness. "You think these reinforcements will save you? I have power beyond your comprehension!"

But even as he spoke, I could see the uncertainty in his eyes. The arrival of Odin's forces had rattled him, breaking through his facade of invincibility. Our blades met again and again, each strike a testament to my resolve and his growing desperation.

Outside, Odin's warriors continued to press forward, their discipline and skill evident as they methodically dismantled Oleg's defenses. The sounds of battle began to recede, replaced by the triumphant shouts of our allies.

With a final, powerful strike, I disarmed Oleg, his sword clattering to the ground. He stumbled back, a look of disbelief on his face. "No... this can't be..."

I stood over him, my sword pointed at his chest. "It's over, Oleg. Surrender and face justice."

For a moment, he seemed to consider his options, his gaze darting around the room as if seeking an escape. But there was none. The palace was surrounded, his forces defeated. With a defeated growl, he dropped to his knees.

"I'll never forgive you for this," he spat, his eyes burning with hatred.

"You don't have to," I replied, my voice steady. "But you will answer for your crimes."

As Oleg was now on the ground along with the people who were supporting him in a form of submission, they knew that this is a fight that they couldn't win anymore, the room fell silent. The battle was over, the threat of Oleg's tyranny finally vanquished. I turned to Odin, who approached with a proud smile.

"You arrived just in time," I said, my voice filled with gratitude.

He nodded, his expression serious. "We fight for the same cause, Lydia. For justice and a better future."

I looked around at the faces of my allies, their expressions a mix of relief and triumph. The people, those who had watched in fear and uncertainty, now saw the truth. A new era was dawning for our kingdom, one built on unity, justice, and hope.

"We have much to rebuild," I said, addressing everyone in the room. "But together, we will create a kingdom that stands for what is right."

As the crowd erupted in cheers, I felt a renewed sense of purpose. The battle was won, but the real work was just beginning. And with the support of my friends, my allies, and the people, I knew we could achieve anything, but little did I know more drama was about to unfold.
