Emma's Pov
As the mysterious man starts the motorcycle, I cling tighter around his waist. Through my fingers, I feel him chuckle, likely due to the movement of his abdomen. He definitely made that quick getaway so I would hold on tighter to him, which isn't entirely bad.
Holy fuck, how does he have such defined abs, my Goddess! This man is out of this world, for sure, it can't be possible!
I snuggle closer to his body, partly because of the cutting wind coming our way and partly because I want to stay intact, without flying off somewhere. I rest my head against the guy's back, breathing for the first time in hours, relieved.
The argument between the Night Howlers Pack and the Moonshadow Pack still echoes in my mind. Especially the cruel words of my older brother, James.
I don't know where the mysterious man is taking me, and for a few minutes on the road, I really don't care. I focus my attention on the wind passing through my shirt, lifting my hair and forcing me to keep my eyes closed since I'm not wearing a helmet.
I feel him maneuvering through the cars with impressive skill. I've ridden a motorcycle a few times, but none of them compares to this one.
After about fifteen minutes of riding the motorcycle, the mysterious man stops. I hear voices and smell the strong scent of French fries and hamburgers. Opening my eyes, I realize he's brought me to a place I haven't been before.
"Princess, I think we both need to grab a bite to eat, what do you think?" he suggests eagerly. "Oh, if you want to keep holding on like this, no problem, okay?"
I release my arms from around his waist, and the guy lets out a laugh. I carefully observe our surroundings. We're on top of a hill, the view is amazing; I can see the entire road and the city from up here. Several food trucks are parked in a huge unpaved parking lot. Light posts, similar to Christmas lights, are hung to illuminate the various wooden tables scattered around the area.
The day is almost coming to an end, sunset is approaching, and yet there are many people ordering food at several food trucks, while others are already seated. My stomach rumbles at the delicious smell of food.
The guy helps me off the motorcycle, which is very tall. His fingers grip my hand firmly, and I notice the calluses and roughness of his skin.
"I... I didn't bring my wallet," I stammer a bit awkwardly. The guy grimaces and waves his hand in my direction, as if dismissing my words.
"Oh, come on, princess. I'm here for that, don't worry. What do you want to eat?" he asks with a curious look on his face, but the mischievous smile remains on his lips. "I'm dying for a bacon-stuffed burger, with mayo and lots of cheddar."
I salivate at his words. That sounds like a delicious meal he just described, "I think I'll have that too," I respond calmly, and the mysterious man's smile widens even more, which is contagious.
The guy moves closer to me, his hand resting on my waist, and his face leans down to whisper in my ear; his scent is much closer now, citrusy, distinct. His arm points to one of the tables further back, which is empty. "Wait for me there, princess, I'll place our orders." His voice comes out low and seductive, tickling my ear, and I bite my lower lip at his closeness. I nod my head, and when his hand slips away from my waist, I feel a shiver run through my entire body.
I walk through the tables until I reach the one he indicated. It's closer to the trees; the smell of leaves and grass mixes with the predominant scent of frying and grilling. I pay attention to the surroundings, young people laughing sit three tables in front of me, a family with three children is playing among themselves. I watch closely the movements he's making; laughter resounds even from afar, coming from him and then from the attendant he's talking to. He's a guy who gestures a lot and elicits laughter; I notice the women around are also impressed with his physique.
Yeah, girls, I get you, I saw him naked; he's definitely not someone to throw away! Not even a little bit.
Seemingly sensing my thoughts, the guy turns his head to find me looking back at him. He winks in my direction, and I just smile back at him.
Ten minutes later, I widen my eyes as the guy approaches with two trays full of food. There aren't just two burgers on the trays; there's much more food. He balances the two trays with ease as he moves between the tables towards me.
"Here's a feast fit for a princess," he declares as he places the two trays on the table. I look at the contents, wide-eyed. There are four burgers, four fries, two large sodas, two portions of onion rings, and two milkshakes, which I believe are chocolate. "What's wrong? Is there anything here you're allergic to?" he asks concerned, furrowing his brow towards the trays.
"No, no. It's just... wow, that's a lot of food," I respond impressed. He pushes the trays towards me with a relieved expression on his face; the guy grabs some fries and stuffs them into his mouth. I watch him, and I realize that my hunger is greater than I thought, so I mimic his movement.
As soon as I taste the fries, a pleasurable moan escapes my lips, "Mm... delicious," I moan and close my eyes. When I open them again, the guy's blue eyes are filled with mischief and humor.
"How many days have you gone without food?" he asks with a laugh, and I let out a chuckle. I shake my head about my lack of food; people always think I'm starving because I'm too skinny, but I eat plenty.
After devouring one of the burgers, I remember to thank him, "Um... thank you, for saving me and for all of this," I say with gratitude in my voice. "I never got to ask your name."
The guy has the straw of the soda in his mouth when I say those words and replies, "Almost asking now? If you don't ask, well... I won't tell," he jokes, and I scrunch my nose in his direction at his little joke. "My name is Daniel Garcia, princess."
Holy fuck! Daniel Garcia. No, it can't be! Daniel Garcia, son of Alpha Peter Garcia of the Direwolf pack, was the one who saved me? The one I saw naked almost twelve hours ago?
The Direwolf pack is an enemy pack to my Moonshadow pack. Goddess, you have such a devilish sense of humor!
I know Daniel Garcia is twenty-two years old and is next in line to lead the Direwolf pack, but I never imagined he would be so... hot, fuck, he's so handsome!
"Daniel Garcia, as in the son of Alpha Peter Garcia, of the Direwolf pack?" I ask curiously and am a bit apprehensive.
"Yes, but I prefer just Daniel. The title of alpha's son is too long and boring," he replies humorously. "But you, princess... you can call me whatever you want."
Damn, does he have all the world's charm? With that beauty, he wouldn't even need to be so sexy while flirting.
I let out a laugh and took another bite of my burger. I asked Daniel how he found me in the car. "You couldn't have come just because of my screams," I say curiously, and Daniel agrees.
"The jacket had a lot of your scent. I tracked you that way, and the screams, well... they were just a beacon."
"Why were you tracking me?" I inquire with curiosity.
"To thank you and to invite you to visit my pack. After what I witnessed, I think you need a welcoming pack. Direwolf is the perfect place for that."
Daniel, son of Alpha Peter of the Direwolf pack, is inviting me to visit his pack? Moon Goddess, what are you doing with my life?
"So, do you want to come? We have a place for you there!" Daniel asks excitedly, and I gulp nervously.
