CHAPTER 88 An Unwelcome Dinner

  Emma's Pov

As soon as Matthew leaves, I call a meeting with my pack members.

"Well, after yesterday's events, we will need to improve some things here as soon as possible, but before all that," I inform in the empty living room where we all are. "Yesterday I informed the Night Howlers Pack that Jordan is my beta. However, I want us to have a discussion about such decisions in this pack. We are new, and I want to create our own traditions and rules."

I shift my weight from one leg to the other as I begin the explanation. All the members look attentively at me, causing me some nervousness.

"Does anyone here wish to claim the position of the beta of the Stonehaven Pack? Now is the time," I announce seriously, my eyes scanning each member of my pack.

"I do," Faylen speaks quickly and formally. "Nothing against Jordan being beta, but I would also like to try for the position. I am the oldest, have more field experience, and was very close to the inner circle of my former pack. I will know well how to handle situations similar to yesterday," Faylen argues, turning her face to Jordan. "I don't mean this as an offense, Jordan was great yesterday. But if we want to be taken seriously by other packs, we need to use logic."

I observe Jordan's face not changing; he actually nods at every word Faylen says, and I feel my heart at peace with the dialogue.

"I only asked for the position because no one else had. But I agree with Faylen. If necessary, I will be the Omega of our pack. What I want is to protect and serve the Stonehaven Pack, you are becoming my family. Mine and my brother's," Jordan responds sincerely and warmly.

"Is there any objection to the title change? Does anyone else want to try to be my beta?" I question, and no one responds. "Therefore, I accept the official candidacy of Faylen Willton as my beta in the Stonehaven Pack. And I declare Jordan Greengal as my Omega."

A round of applause follows, and we all celebrate this new stage completed in our Stonehaven Pack with excitement and happiness. I look at the five members of my pack, feeling nothing but pride and joy.

With everything already resolved in our pack's rank, my focus in the following days is to further organize the main house of the Stonehaven Pack. As Matthew had promised, Thalia brings security equipment and installs it throughout the perimeter of my territory.

"Could you train with my pack today? Show some cool things you know," I ask Thalia after the installation of the last camera facing the main road.

My friend looks at me with mischievous eyes, a smile forming on her thin lips.

"You want to get beaten up in front of your subjects?" Thalia teases and I show her the middle finger.

"Your modesty is really remarkable, Thalia," I respond sarcastically, and we both laugh.

Kylian comes up to us with a black envelope in his hands, I raise an eyebrow at the item before he even informs me what it is.

"Alpha Emma, they left this at the entrance. It's for you," Kylian hands over the envelope, still sealed with wax.

Opening the envelope, there is a cream-colored card with cursive writing informing the following: Hello, Alpha Emma, I would like to schedule a dinner to discuss an alliance between our packs. I am Alpha Daemon. If you are interested, meet me at this location tonight for dinner.

"What is it?" Kylian questions curiously, and I smile.

"Another invitation for an alliance," I respond with joy. As the days go by, more and more packs are discovering the Stonehaven Pack, which has been good. Some alliances have been made with smaller packs, in addition to the Night Howlers Pack. "At this rate, we'll have new members in the Stonehaven Pack."

With more people knowing about us, more people may want to join our pack. My heart fills with enthusiasm with the invitation, and I soon get ready to go to the informed address as the time approaches.

"Thank you for coming with me, Faylen," I thank my beta as we park in front of the restaurant.

"It's another alliance proposal, of course, I wouldn't leave you alone, Alpha Emma," Faylen retorts kindly and with a friendly smile before standing by my side and walking towards the restaurant entrance.

I was informed about the reservation made under the name Daemon, and a waiter led us to the table, but the person sitting there caused me tremendous surprise and shock.

  "Michael?" I question incredulously.

My ex-boyfriend and mate open a shameless smile upon seeing me and stand up. I take a step back and stare at him with anger.

"Emma, I was eager to talk to you again," Michael announces and advances towards Faylen and me.

"Fuck off, Michael. Come on, Faylen, let's leave," I say, already turning my back to Michael and heading out of the restaurant.

Faylen quickly follows me, as does Michael, who, in a swift movement, stands in front of me. I bump into him, and Michael holds me by the waist, our faces getting too close.

"Emma, dear, wait. I want to talk a little," Michael asks, his hands stroking my waist, not allowing me to move away from him.

"We have nothing to talk about, Michael," I respond, freeing myself from his hands on my waist.

But Michael doesn't give up; he grabs me by the wrist, pulling me closer to his body. His lip brushes my cheek, and I feel disgusted by the closeness.

"Of course, we do, dear. Especially now, you don't know how much I miss you. Your delicious and tight pussy. The way you were in bed, was so hot. Do you remember, Emma? Remember how I fucked you so well? Don't you miss it? I bet you do."

His words cause a knot in my stomach, and I feel like vomiting. My anger and disgust for Michael bloom to the point where Eldra manifests within me.

"Go fuck yourself, Michael!" I order, pushing him with all my strength, making him fly across the parking lot and crash to the ground. "Let's go, Faylen!"
