CHAPTER 134 A Fateful Decision

  Matthew's Pov

"Go to the Moonshadow Pack and turn that fucking place into hell. Destroy every wall, every house, every tree there, and ensure the skies never forget this day!" I responded with anger.

"That's our motivation. But the plan is flawed, Matthew. Moonshadow almost destroyed us last time; we need to be smart!" Fenrir warned, and I growled in response.

  "SHIT!" I screamed in frustration.

"Call Thalia. She's the best warrior you have. Along with Faylen, they can come up with a better strategy," Fenrir advised, and I heeded his request.

In the training room, there was me, Liam, Thalia, and Faylen. Less than an hour remained until our attack, and we still hadn't decided on an approach to the Moonshadow Pack. I paced anxiously around the spacious training room. Every minute felt like an eternity but also a step closer to the justice I promised Emma.

The anger still burned inside me, but now it was tempered with a cold and relentless determination. Michael would pay for what he dared to do, and I wouldn't rest until Emma was safe and back in my arms.

"I also spoke with Daniel Garcia. He and his best friend Vini are willing to provide us with some warriors," Faylen commented seriously.

I raised an eyebrow at the news. It wasn't a bad idea; I knew how much Daniel cared for Emma. Maybe this could come in handy now.

"Where can he meet us, and with how many men?" I asked seriously, looking at the table where the map was spread out.

Faylen pointed to the border between my wolf pack, Night Howlers Pack, and the Moonshadow Pack. "Here. He'll bring at least four hundred warriors under his command, plus about one hundred and fifty sorcerers led by his best friend, Vini."

"With that, we have roughly..." Liam thought aloud.

"Three thousand warriors ready, Beta Liam," Thalia replied proudly.

"Plus our two thousand men from the Stonehaven Pack. I can't bring more than that because we need to protect our wolf pack," Faylen responded firmly, and I nodded.

"Don't worry, Faylen. This battle is more ours, the Night Howlers Pack, than yours, the Stonehaven Pack," I reassured her, and Faylen shook her head.

"You are the fiancé and mate of my alpha. Besides being with us in the peace treaty, this war is not just for one wolf pack, but for all!" Faylen declared firmly, and I felt immense pride in that.

"It's time for all of us to march to victory!" I declared with conviction, ready to start this confrontation.

The full moon was high in the sky, its pale light casting long and sinister shadows on the ground. The forest around us carried tension, the sound of branches snapping and leaves whispering in the wind amplified the anticipation of the imminent battle.

Inside me, Fenrir was on high alert, his keen senses merging with mine, the presence of my wolf a storm of fury and vengeance. My night vision allowed me to see every step I took.

The sound of footsteps resonated around me, the troop of warriors from my wolf pack, Night Howlers Pack, Stonehaven Pack, and Direwolf Pack marching in perfect harmony. Every warrior was prepared, their lupine eyes glowing in the night, revealing that many were ready to shift into werewolves if necessary, creating a pulse of energy in the air.

The tall, imposing trees around us seemed to silently witness the confrontation about to unfold.

"Advance!" I commanded, my voice cutting through the air and the silence. Our warriors moved forward with a deafening roar.

The lines of the Moonshadow Pack became visible, and the battlefield quickly turned into a controlled chaos of shouts, weapons clashing, and transformations, along with spells being cast.

This time, we didn't have the misfortune of a traitor giving us away to the Moonshadow Pack. We attacked with precision and the element of surprise. Even though the Moonshadow Pack had the advantage of being on their territory, they were facing a man full of rage.

It didn't take long for me to allow Fenrir to take full control, shifting me entirely into wolf form. My Lycan form would come only when I found Michael. With that, I let Fenrir feast on the lives of other Moonshadow Pack warriors while we tracked the scent of the son of a bitch that was Michael.

In the heart of the battle, I finally found Michael. He was engaged in a fierce fight with Liam, and the sight of his face, twisted with hatred and arrogance, made my heart burn even more. I quickly shifted into Lycan form, sharing control with Fenrir.

"MICHAEL!" I let out an animalistic roar, charging forward to separate him from Liam.

However, someone stepped in front of me. A useless, fragile body trying to stop me from reaching Michael.

"Fuck, Ava!" I cursed as her arms tried to hold me back.

"Matthew, please. Don't do this! I don't want you to get hurt!" she pleaded desperately, and I looked at her as if she were crazy.

Her presence by my side turned the tide in our favor. The warriors of the Moonshadow Pack, including Michael, looked at us in confusion, causing them to falter. I pushed her aside, removing her from my path.

I charged at Michael, pulling him off my beta. Michael was strong, but the rage and hatred within me, fueled by Fenrir's presence, gave me an overwhelming advantage. Each blow I landed was fueled by my accumulated fury, each movement carrying the promise of vengeance.

"You're a son of a bitch, you know that?! A bastard, a cheat, a greedy asshole!" I shouted while continuing to punch Michael's face, which he couldn't defend.

When I was ready to deliver another punch to Michael's shattered face, his sister intervened again.

"Stop, Matthew! This needs to end!" she screamed, her voice echoing across the battlefield. She stepped in front of her brother, trying to prevent any retaliation from him.

I held back for just a few seconds until Michael himself surprised me, pushing his sister away and lunging to attack me.

At that moment, everything changed completely. I quickly turned my body, dodging the blow Michael intended to land. I delivered the final blow to Michael, his body falling heavily to the ground.
