Matthew's Pov
"Emma! Emma! Emma! Argh!" Ava grumbles irritably and tries once more to break free from my hands. This time, I allow it, pushing her body away from mine. Her presence causes me even more hatred and disgust. "She isn't that special, you know? Just a pathetic girl! I bet she doesn't even fuck right!"
I lunge at Ava, ready to strike her with my lupine claws and rip her tongue out. But Liam stops me just in time, bringing Alpha Tim Davis and Emma's family. They are all bound and subdued.
"Here they are, Alpha Matthew!" Liam declares with pride, pushing the terrified and defenseless bodies at my feet.
They fall to their knees, but their arrogance and pride remain above the ground, intact.
"Mom, Dad!" Ava tries to run to them, but I grab her by the hair, keeping her in place. A venomous scream escapes her lips, echoing through the forest.
"Get your filthy hands off my daughter!" Alpha Tim Davis declares with hatred, trying to stand up, but Liam strikes him with the butt of his gun, causing him to fall back to the ground. The impact is brutal, and I can see the blood trickling down Tim's forehead.
"You don't give the orders here, you fucking bastard!" I scream with rage, the ground trembling around us. My voice resonates like thunder, reflecting all my fury.
I revert to my Lycan form, allowing all the anger Fenrir still feels to course through my body, along with my hatred. My body grows, my muscles expand, and my face transforms, becoming an imposing and terrifying beast.
The full moon in the sky shines even brighter as if it is watching my vengeance with morbid attention.
"You will tell me now who the fucking sorcerer or sorceress was that placed that fucking damn curse on Emma," I order, pulling Ava's hair hard. "Or I'll kill your daughter right now, and then your pathetic son!"
"It doesn't matter who placed the fucking curse!" Ava responds through gritted teeth, trying to break free from my hand in her hair. "She's going to die! There's no reversing that!"
I spin Ava's body so she faces me. Her eyes sparkle with pain and hatred, just like mine.
"What did you do to Emma?" I order with a growl, pulling her hair even harder. This forces Ava's head back, making her look at me directly.
"All this is because Emma lives. With her dead, it's all over! There is no solution to death, Matthew. Only acceptance! Emma is going to die, no matter who you kill, it won't stop anything!" Ava responds with pride and coldness. "She is probably already dead, and you're not even there to say goodbye to her!"
Ava's words hit me like a venomous wave, drowning me in despair and fear. The cold night wind lashes at my face, carrying the scent of blood. The vegetation around me, with its dark shadows and twisted branches, seems to watch in silence, eager to witness the grim unraveling happening here in Moonshadow Pack's territory. I feel in my bones that they want to see how everything is falling apart.
I grab Ava by the neck, my claws digging into her throat until a trickle of blood starts to flow from her nape. My hand tightens completely around her neck. I can feel the frantic pulse of her life struggling to keep going while I am on the brink of extinguishing it.
"What did you say, bitch?" I growl with rage, my fangs bared, knowing that my Lycan transformation frightens even the bravest souls. My whole body is tense, every muscle vibrating with the insane anger boiling in my molecules. The smell of Ava's fear mixes with the forest's aroma, a bittersweet perfume that fuels my fury toward her even more.
Ava tries to scratch my arm, covered by a thick layer of protective fur. Her attempts to free herself from my hand do nothing but tickle, a pathetic and futile effort. Her eyes are wide with terror and desperation as she tries, in vain, to escape my deadly grip. All it would take is a slight twist of her neck, and her life would end here, now.
"Emma, she won't wake up! I cursed her!" Ava struggles to say, coughing out the words like poison. Her eyes gleam with a mix of hatred and fear, her body trembling with pain and anguish.
"Why did you do it, you wretch? What's your problem? What did Emma ever do to you? She saved your life!" I shout at her, my voice cutting through the air like thunder through a stormy sky. The pain and anger inside me are so intense, that I can almost touch them, they feel so vivid within me.
In a fit of rage, I throw Ava's body away from me, and she crashes into a tree, snapping branches and sending leaves cascading around her. The sound of her bones colliding with the wood echoes, a dry, sinister crack in the night's darkness.
My animalistic fury begins to take over everything inside me. The thought of Emma dying because of a bitch like Ava drives me insane, a monster of pure fury and despair. My body trembles with the need to destroy, to make Ava and all her kin pay for what they've done to my mate.
"EMMA IS PERFECT! WHY DID YOU DO THIS? TELL ME!" I roar, my voice splitting the ground beneath us. The earth shakes under my feet, cracking as if mirroring the rage roaring inside me.
Ava tries to get up, coughing up some blood, but that doesn't stop me from lunging at her and grabbing her by the neck again. Her skin is pale, marked by fear and pain, yet there's still a spark of defiance in her eyes.
"Answer me, you two-faced traitor!" I command, and Ava only coughs and moans in pain. Her weak hands try to push me away, but I am an immovable rock, a force of nature focused on getting answers.
"Speak, or I'll kill your parents right now, in front of you. And I won't be merciful like Emma would be," I declare with conviction, dragging Ava's body in front of her parents. Her eyes widen even more, and a scream of terror escapes her cracked lips.
