CHAPTER 3: The Chaotic Funeral

No...this isn't how it should end like.

I seek justice. With no one by my side now, I am all by myself. That sorts to me being my own strength as well as my own weakness. There HAS to be a way I can bring him down.

  Leif Lupus...you scumbag!

  *KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!*

My fists could almost break the door open, but I'm not really in the mood to alert his delta wolves to attack me. I'm powerless...I've never felt so ashamed of it until now.

Ugh! What's taking the cheater so much time to answer his fucking door!?

He lives in an independent house, much unlike how an alpha should be, around his people in a pack house. I hear footsteps and hold my phone tightly in my hand.

"Why the hell are you here so late, baby girl?"

What a nonchalant person! Deep down he knows he's cheated on me, belittled me, but he still chose to stay so composed about it!? Has he no remorse in his heart for me!?

Let me bring his emotions out. Maybe he'll beg me for forgiveness. Beg by holding my feet and all as I threaten to reveal his infidelity to my bloody pack!

"What the fuck is this...?" Shoving the phone in his hand was a bad idea. I realized it later.

  "Oh wow. That day..."

  My jaw dropped.

Anger got the best of me as I pushed him by his chest!

"What the fuck do you mean, Leif!? You cheated on me! What the fuck is wrong with you— I—" my words were snatched out as he forced himself over me. He was kissing me, without my permission! Heck, I never expected the sweet, understanding Leif Lupus to turn out to be such a monster!

"One thing..." Holding my shoulders, dismissing all my meek efforts of freeing myself, he threatened me. His alpha pheromones were messing with my body, even if I didn't have a proper wolf to respond with.

"One thing I'd like to tell you, is that you're powerless right now, baby girl. You didn't leave your pack. They accepted your departure with open arms, did you know?"

  "...How dare you..."

"I dare a lot of things, princess. But first and foremost—" taking the opportunity to set myself free, I push him away and retrieve my phone.

"That's all I need to show my pack what a fucking cheater you are, Leif. I will do everything in my power to bring our alliance down—"

"Oh boy...you really went there." He cut me off again. Suddenly, he snatched the phone from my grip and threw it across the wall with such force that it burst open into shards! The sound of it, the force of impact shocked me. Disoriented me!

I peeled my eyes away from the dent he put in the concrete wall.

  "There goes your evidence~"

Then and there, I started wailing like a child. That's what I was left to do now. All pieces of evidence just made a hole in the wall and I had no one by my side too! Papa...would have listened to me. Taken the right step to break off Leif and my engagement. Mama would have comforted me.

But they are now sealed away from this realm, their bodies dug and buried six feet deep in the ground, overnight...

I hear Leif suck his teeth as he crouched to my face. I was on the floor, destroyed and disheveled on my birthday.

My body jerked away from the way he sniffed on my neck, I felt disgusted.

  ...and scared.

"Your scent...it drives me crazy, Aurora. Should you have let me sleep with your youthfulness, nothing would've gone downhill. However, I would still have made my arrangements to take over your wealthy pack."

My blood boiled over his last statement. Not my pack. Not the people whom I love and cherish. What if the elders and others in power dislike me? The pups and omegas still care for me in that pack!

"Oh...I know that look, sweetheart." I had stopped wailing. My glare was filled with hatred towards him.

"So here, right now, I propose a deal to you." I watch his hand rise to touch my breast, anger clouded me over existing feeling of disgust.

"Devote your body to me, and I'll keep you in the pack."

Well, my hatred flowed out of the brim and I couldn't help myself with my reaction.

I spat on his disgusting hand that was advancing to claim my chastity!

He quickly pulled it away, and slapped me harshly on my cheek as reply to my vehement refusal!

"You bloody bitch! Shit!" I wasn't sure why he yelled at me like that. But surely, he felt a little guilt to hurt a girl like me. His slap busted my lip open, blood trickled down the center of my lip.

Everything was a haze after that. The next morning, I returned back to my pack to attend my parent's funeral ceremony. They decided to let me see my parents one last time, before seeing me away. I'd become a rogue...

Leif's words from last night ring in my ear as I sat in solitude by the tree of our garden.

'If you dare breach my words, mind you, Aurora...I'll set your pack on fire and dwell on the sweet screams and moans of agony of every single member of your dying pack. Remember my words.'

Well...if I tell the 'alpha' of our pack right now, Leif cannot go against us anymore. Right?

  Oh, I was so wrong.

Standing over me, his shadow and presence made me look up to his face.

"...You've finally been elected as interim alpha now."

"I have duties as beta of this prestigious pack, sweetheart. I'm sorry for the loss, and the haste from last night. You still wish to leave the pack, Aurora—"

"I want to break off my engagement with Leif." Cutting Torin off, I spoke. I didn't care if the elders, who were following Torin to talk to me as well, heard my confession.

Just then, I hear Leif chuckling from a distance.

  Just great.

"She wouldn't do that, Torin. The poor girl is distraught. I'll take care of her. Also, please look over her childish decision to leave the pack. You and I both know it was a hasty decision, right, Aurora?" My lip shuddered in anger of his words.

  Suddenly...there was a presence.

While the elders were lamenting my decision and how immature I was, the situation quickly took an unexpected turn. Even if wasn't having a wolf, I sensed the presence.

Silence befell heavily in the garden.

The strong presence made everyone question, stand up and look around.

He walked over the grass as if he owned the damn place, and he walked elegantly. I didn't notice he made a beeline towards me. Until he stopped midway and just...stared at me.

Isn't he the guy from somewhere...?

  Who is he...?

Why does he have such a strong presence that made even Leif bow at his appearance?
