~Emeric~
Same shit, different day. I walked away briskly from the healer's room only to be teased by my very own buddy and annoying wolf, Marrok regarding someone specific.
'Aww, you're such a tsundere! You seem to care for the girl more than I ever could! Perhaps, you care for her more than any mortal was ever capable of!' I took a sharp turn around the east wing. And I'm pretty sure, whoever might have caught me giving this expression, would be really concerned about the amount of disgust and annoyance I felt! Marrok can be a real pain in the ass sometimes. Sometimes even crossing borders of friendship and going ballistic with his ideas and thoughts!
'What does tsundere even mean, Goddess...
Anyways, do NOT disturb me while I'm working right now. I dismissed my workout because I don't want to go there anymore. You better not distract me with your vile thoughts about our mate.' I warned the wolf in me.
'Ha! Look who's talking! You're the one who gets these 'vile' thoughts about our mate! All I want is a peaceful and subtle relationship with that sweet girl. You're the one who always makes it uncomfortable for both of us!' Marrok could use some silence right now. My hand watch latched onto the door handle as I pressed it open.
And the Beta was already inside.
"Oh. What a pleasant surprise, Roman. What are you doing here?" I asked the young man. Well, he's technically older than myself. But never had he ever left the chance to make me feel like his younger brother that he adores so much.
"Hmm...I might have found something interesting for you to solve tonight, Alpha. Get good sleep, and don't ponder so much on it. Good night, Emeric." Greeting me, Beta Roman walks away. I sighed, how bad could this be?
Well, I guess it is time to find out.
Mind-linking with Roman to inform him all activities should be withheld until further notice from my side, I sat at the desk in my study. It's also my office room, it is big and filled with important documents for my pack.
I have also told Roman to inform the guards I would need no one coming into my office, no matter what the cause would be. After all, a busy person is a busy person, no matter what.
The papers in front of me are written verdicts, I could tell by the format of how it's written. I have spies from my Kingdom all over the continent, some even spread towards the other continents because we are a global unit.
Narrowing my eyes at the picture attached to the report, I seem to have noticed this face somewhere.
"Leif Lupus...Alpha of Frostmoon pack. Hmm...aren't you familiar, Leif Lupus." I smirked. This is the man my mate was so uncomfortable with. I'm not aware of the whole story, but Leif Lupus looked like he was forcing Aurora to be his mate at the funeral of her parents.
What did he do to get into my Kingdom's reports now?
As I read through, the smirk only grew on my face.
The reports, as I could decipher and connect the dots, suggested Leif Lupus had a great plan in his head. I shook my head, disappointed at how badly his plans were being executed.
Several pictures of him walking in and out of shady places were taken. He seems so nervous in each secret picture, a trait seen in a man who keeps secrets. Secrets which could ruin lives.
After several hours of trying to ensure what I was theorizing was true and valid, I came to a conclusion. Actually, two conclusions.
One, thar Leif Lupus of the Frostmoon pack has a great ambition to overthrow me! That's why he's done something terrible to the pack that I have such great alliance with. Well, not anymore.
Because, my second conclusion suggests that Leif Lupus's livid ambition involves the Darkforest pack! Through thorough investigation, I come to the point where all fingers point to Leif Lupus...
...Being the culprit behind Aurora’s parent's death...
I closed my eyes briefly. How devastated would she be if she hears this news? How would Aurora handle herself in this situation? I know for sure that she cannot take it normally. She will throw a tantrum and probably do something impulsive.
What a bloody bastard!
He's done everything in his power to kill two of the most important pack leaders of the world! There is no saying on what extent he could go to harm me.
Even now, I'm skeptical of a few things as the Trials go on in my Kingdom. But I would rather not jump into more conclusions already.
Leaning back in my seat, I scoffed at Leif Lupus.
How dare he think he could overthrow me and become the leader of Werewolves!? Much less try to take over us Lycans! The amount of delusion in this man is uncanny.
However, in war, no enemy should be underestimated.
It shall cost my Kingdom a lot.
Hence, I need to plan a good backfiring strategy and eliminate this pest once and for all. I don't plan on killing him by any means. As an alpha, aspiration and ambition is what keeps us going. But the fact that he's adopted such cruel means to execute his ambitions is what disgusts me as a fellow Alpha.
Taking a deep breath, I decided punishment is not the only reinforcement he shall receive from me. I will take the efforts to teach him a lesson as well.
But...half of the revenge is not mine.
The revenge part...it belongs to my mate.
I need to reprimand the man and remove all ill thoughts from his mind.
Almost too enthusiastically, I sketch out my plan to take this man down once and for all. If his aim is to take my position, might as well show him the efforts and brain power it takes to even sustain my position~
Oh, aren't I a villain myself~
I couldn't help but remember the glimpses of how he treated my mate. He held her wrist so tightly, it left a mark that lasted for a few hours. Her face was filled with betrayal and pain, yet she stayed quiet. There was no one to believe her that she was cheated on by the disgusting man. Everyone was siding with the alpha of another pack than their own Heir!?
How fallen and corrupted the Darkforest pack had become after the death of their beloved Alpha and Luna...
With that, I resumed my duties late into the night, almost towards dawn.
