On the other hand, with the help of powerful witches of the kingdom, Leif, the elders and many other spectators were watching me from the witch's globe. They were analyzing every move of mine, from the start till the end.
"Isn't she feeling even a bit cold? She's only wearing a leather jacket." Said Leif, confused as to why I came in just a jacket. Within, I was sweating a little near my abdomen area too! Was I having any abnormalities?
Beta Roman, who was walking around and handing reports printed out from time to time, paused to look at me. Him and Prince Emeric exchanged glances. What did they know…?
Prince Emeric nodded softly and let Beta Roman continue his job.
"She must be using a potion," Elder John passed a snarky remark, it was considered a 'possibility'. If I was there, I would have scoffed at his face.
"No, Elder. She hadn't taken any potions from the lab. Nor is there evidence that she's made one. There are no herbs in her vicinity which can alter body chemistry to make her feel warm either. It must be her own biology." Said an Alpha from another prestigious pack. His response to Elder John silenced everyone in the room. Even Leif, because there was nothing to hold against me for fraud.
Back to my scenario, I sighed as I was tired of walking for a few hours as well.
I was feeling hungry, just a tad bit.
I need to find a few edibles, maybe roasted pines would be a good idea. Having that in mind, I began wandering deeper into the woods. Just then…
An unholy gasp escaped from my lips when I saw something incredible! A white yeti and his kid on his shoulder! Approximately thrice as taller and ten times heavier than me, I'm pretty sure he came looking for food. I must be careful here, since yeti are known to be omnivorous by nature. He might rip me to shreds and dine on my intestines for breakfast. It is better not to cross paths with this one.
Almost too quickly, I found a boulder and dashed towards it. With a low, curious growl, the yeti turned to look at my direction. I tried to be as steady as possible. The boulder wasn't an embedded one! It couldn't roll away with the slightest force from the wrong direction!
'Please don't fall…please don't roll away from me—'
My entire body froze when the boulder started rolling away from me! I couldn't let it crush me, so I had to jump out of its shadow! And there it was, the lowly growling beast which was setting its kid down on the snow. The yeti and I…we were having a staring competition until…
"ARGHH!" His growl pierced the air as I jolted!
"FUCKING HELL!" Exclaiming, I ran in the opposite direction, but alas, the boots were sinking into the snow and slowing me down very badly!
"Fuck!" I exclaimed, running as fast as possible to reach the other side of the snow, where the cedars and pines starred! At least that would provide me some ground to run on!
The yeti, however, must have been starving for a long time! He was chasing me as if there was no tomorrow! I don't want to end up as his meal! That was my only instinct at the moment. That fueled my body up so well that I was starting to outrun the beast of the snow lands!
However, he was catching up to me at an incredible speed. What else did I expect from a modified ape!?
Deliberately avoiding the branches, I was sprinting and jumping off against the tree trunks. The yeti was up in the air, hanging off of branches and breaking most of them with his weight!
"Oh, come on!!" I saw the space I was being driven into. It wasn't a good area! I could see a dense pitfall, I could get rid of the yeti over there if he falls into it!
Well, I had a plan!
Stopping right next to the big pitfall, I looked at the yeti. I was giving him a challenging gaze, panting like a dog meanwhile. He drum his fists over his chest, wanting to gain control over the situation and claim his position as the predator, making me his prey!
Not today, big guy.
Not today!
As soon as the big, white furred ape tried to jump over me, I held his fur and jumped over his back. Jumping into the air, I kicked his back as he tumbled into the deep pitfall, several meters into the ground!
"WRAHHH!" It screamed in defeat, while I, I was calming down from the chase.
"I'm sorry, big guy. Your child must be hungry. But whatever the humans say, 'Survival of the fittest.' See ya!" Waving at him as though he could understand me, I left the big ape in the pitfall.
That was my first, basic encounter for the day.
There are way, way more creatures which will start emerging now. The yeti and I shook up the soil quite a lot. I wonder what else would come out of the ground now.
Hopefully, not a werebear so soon.
Not a feral moose either. I'm scared of its sheer size and stamina. It could outrun me and I'd have nowhere to go either!
Standing in my position, I was feeling weary that the yeti would try to climb back up and get his revenge against me. He must've picked my scent as well, memorizing it for revenge!
"I need to move out of here…" I said to myself in a soft voice.
Before I could, I looked up at the trees. They were pine trees, just the right amount of cones visible to me!
Now, I'd just need water and some fire to cook the center of these pines. I'd feast on them till my stomach bursts, and store more of it for the rest of my survival here.
This is going great, so far.
Or so, I thought.
