~Aurora~
"...and he called me a monster for the way I completed all of his tasks! He rarely compliments anyone! I felt so good today!" I was speaking with Emeric, sitting on the couch of my big room. The lights were switched off and the doors were locked.
Emeric and I talked hours into the night. He didn't mind me being a worry rat for his upcoming events. The prestigious festival for all werewolves and lycans alike. This festival is a symbolic, annual celebration which makes us seek blessings from the Moon Goddess.
"Emeric…I'm a little sleepy. I've been told I have to handle a lot of tasks tomorrow. So I'll have to go to sleep now. I'll catch up with you tomorrow for sure, alright?"
"As you wish, Princess. I wish I could cuddle you right now." I chuckled at his cute whining tone. He was speaking low, as he was stuck in his study for the night. Or so I suppose.
"I wish I could be cuddled right now, too. Good night, love."
"Good night, my Luna."
And he cut the call.
He called me his Luna.
Suddenly, his sweet request to make me his Luna flashed as a part of my memory. Ah…it would have been a privilege to be his Luna. The Luna of Emeric Wildhart~
But at the same time, I had way too many tasks as a new Alpha. Tomorrow in the afternoon, I have a schedule to meet with humans and make decisions regarding trade and commerce. As much as I'm excited to have my first official meeting with humans in this position, I'm also a nervous wreck. I hope Torin helps me, Maia as well.
Ugh! I wish I had Emeric by my side right now!
And the next morning, I woke up.
Beta Torin was busy with tasks the next morning. I was filled with excitement, hence, I was up early today. Today was a bright day. A new beginning for me. I was clearing up things in my room when there was a knock on my room's door. It was Beta Torin, Maia could sniff his scent.
"Well, good morning little alpha. You're ready for the day already." Torin was slightly appreciative of me, and slightly apprehensive about me as well. I invited him inside my room, to sit on the couch while I was arranging a few things in my room before leaving it.
"How is everything in your new room? I helped the omegas organize it." Said Torin,
"Well, it definitely had a masculine touch to it since you were the one who arranged things. I appreciate that, however. But hey! It looks good enough!"
"Thank you, little alpha." As he teased, I asked him about our little meeting that was scheduled.
"Ah. The one with the humans. Well, we have to discuss our export of jute to them. Our pack members have harvested and made the byproduct ready. I'll let you know the selling rates and everything else associated."
"Alright!"
And so, I was stuck in the study for over three hours until it was lunch time. Torin had knocked on the door, disrupting me from my little research about a few things about my own pack. I was curious!
"Lunch is ready to be served, Alpha Aurora. Come on," Torin sang in a sweet tone, as if talking to a baby! I chuckled at his tone, nodding as I closed the tabs.
"Hmm, what were you doing up there?"
"Oh. Nothing."
After lunch, the guests arrived at our pack house to discuss. Right on time! I was in my room, getting ready from pajamas to decent looking clothes to impress the humans. Fitting myself into a simple white collared shirt and black trousers, I wore a watch to my left hand and exited the room.
"Oh, you look distinguished!" Beta Torin encouraged me. "Thank you, Torin! Which room are we going to?"
"Conference hall three."
That's right. Our palace is big enough to accommodate a total of four conference halls, or in other words, meeting rooms or court halls. Depending on the guests incoming, the technical word changes.
Each hall was different from the other, with sizes and designs. Conference hall three gave the vibe of a proper office setting, hence easier for humans and our discussion.
The discussion about our trade went well. The bidding rate, or the proper selling rate was negotiated well. I hailed my task well on the first try! After that, I could see how proud Torin was of me.
"How did I do!?" I asked the order male,
"Sometimes…I forget that you are your father's daughter. And the other times…I forget that you're just eighteen years old." My eyes were twinkling at his remark. Gently, Torin raised his hand to stroke my head affectionately.
"I'm proud of the woman you've become, Aurora. Everyone of us, indeed. It takes strength and resilience to get to where you are right now, at this moment. And you're so, so young.
Your parents…they must be bursting with joy, watching you from up there."
"Aw…don't make me emotional right now, Torin! We have other work to tend for! And yes, the Trials have taught me everything I needed to learn to be a better leader. Maybe the main purpose of conducting those trials was to train us all contestants in the first place!"
"I agree. Well, I hope I've earned your trust, little Aurora. I know we have always been distant - I'm sorry, let me rephrase that - I have always been distant to you. While I must be like your uncle-figure, I couldn't make time for Little Aurora at all. Will you forgive your old man?"
I didn't know why, but his words were moving me to tears.
