We couldn't believe that a lot of the alphas have been defeated from Leif's side all the more. There were more than 200 casualties on day 1. Emeric was upset and more than defeated that he lost over 80 men on the first day of War. I tried to approach him but he got away from me…which hurt my feelings.
But I was still very supportive of him and understood where he was coming from. There was a time when leaders did not care about their subordinates at all; those were the times when leaders often believed that subordinates were born only to serve them. But as the times have changed, the situations have changed as well.
It was too late into the night as the crescent moon shone brightly in the sky it was almost a half gibbous. I did not understand the pattern of Leif, but we had to stay alert at all times, volunteering to stay at the fence and protect the ones who are more valuable and vulnerable. I told the guard captain that I would not be returning to the palace tonight.
He hesitated to agree at first but agreed to my wishes nonetheless. "We will send a capsule of necessary items for you Alpha. Please stay on standby as I arrange everything for you."
I was really grateful that the guard captain had such empathy towards me and everyone else who was injured in the field.
There was a full blown conversation that was going on right beside our conversation. As my ear was still trying to recover from the damage that was inflicted on me, I turned to the side and watched Beta Roman and Prince Emeric in a full blown argument. This was such a rare scene for me to see, but I know I had to intervene, otherwise there would be feuds between ourselves that we couldn't afford at the moment.
Quickly putting myself between beta Roman and Emeric I glared both of them down. Emeric was fuming in rates which was also such a rare site for me. On the other hand beta Roman looked more concerned and worried than anger towards his higher authority.
" May I please know what is going on?" None of them were ready to answer my question as I looked at the other people who were around beta Roman and America. None of them were ready to answer me unless and until I asked them sternly.
Well, it was just a rift between the beta and the Alpha that caused a dispute between the unbreakable and unshakable duo of the kingdom.
"Whatever is going on between you both please resolve it as soon as possible. There might be another wave of more Alphas coming anytime of the day or even just a minute apart from now. You both have to be cordially related, otherwise The Kingdom will fall apart." My tough words Worked on them as they were showing signs of being relaxed after a while. Emeric was the first one to admit defeat as he approached Roman and pat him on his back.
"I am sorry that I did not look behind, that a man was coming behind me while you were guarding me in the front." That was when I noticed the huge wound on Roman's arm. If it would have been any deeper he would have lost his arm completely!. I was mildly horrified at the scene and pulled myself back together.
We all were on high alert for at least the next few hours. I was resting by the side of a tree when I noticed Emeric was trying to get closer to me. I gently shook my head and told him that it would be risky for us to be this close while we were surrounded by people everywhere. But he, being himself, ignored my gesture and walked towards me to sit beside the tree anyway.
"Prince Emeric…you are making this hard on yourself and me as well. I do not want to talk about anything at the moment, please leave me alone."
"Arora I did not come here to talk to you nor keep you company. More than you could ever imagine I need a company as I could discuss the future force of action."
My cheeks turned red in embarrassment, and I looked around. He did not have to embarrass me like that in front of everyone! Why the hell was he talking to me like this? I understand that he is very stressed and is physically beyond exhausted. However there was a sudden shift in the air. It was not a bad shift but I could send another powerful wolf joining the scene. I exhaled deeply and closed my eyes until the man who was searching for me had come to me.
It was Odin. He was panting softly as he crouched in front of me. I lifted my head and told him that I needed more than one moment to rest. Immediately Odin analyzed my situation and gave me his lap for me to sleep on. I knew I was getting looks from Emeric that suggested that I get up immediately. But I was more than tired to even think that Emeric would be jealous of my proximity with Odin.
"I thought I would never see you Odin." The whitehead man giggled and nodded his head.
"Well it seems like my father had convinced me to reach out to the Prince and aid him with my strength." I couldn't help but laugh at his delusional words.
"Odin, no one would believe you if you said that. You are such a bad liar!"
"How am I a bad liar?!" I laughed once again at his words.
"You are willingly joining this war, aren't you? For one fact I knew that your father would rather convince you to stay in the palace than send you here for battle." Odin laughed,
"You got me there Aurora. I was not intending to leave the war like a coward. Even my pack had sworn Alliance to the kingdom. It is my duty that I should be loyal to the alliance and aid the kingdom that has given me so much in return…"
