CHAPTER 121: More information

  ~Aurora~

The poor old and frail elder who was standing in front of us felt incredibly powerless in front of both Alpha rulers. Glaring down at the old man and I felt bad for the elder who looked like he would soon start crying. Glaring down at the elder seemed so bad to me that I nudged Emeric to stop with the harsh glaring.

It was already a bad situation that the elder was not talking to us.

Emeric had further pushed the door open but it was very gentle as well. The elder admitted defeat and walk back to his place. It might be surprising, but this is the first time that I have ever entered the elder chamber.

Emeric walked in first and held the door open for me. I followed emeric and stood in front of the elders who were sitting on their individual chairs. It looked like they were having a discussion before we even arrived here.

"Elder I need to seek your opinion if you ever knew about this kind of herb." I turned to Emeric and asked him to show the picture of the Herb that was sent to him. All the elders have seen the herb and narrowed their eyes.

When no one was ready to speak even after a moment of silence I took it that no one of the 5 elders knew about the herb…

I was almost ready to give up for the day. But suddenly emeric stopped me from going back to the corridor. I whipped my head towards him.

"What is the matter now?" I asked in a gentle voice and looked at each of their faces. I can see that one of them knows something about it. Directing my gaze towards who Emeric was motioning to, I noticed that it was the third elder. Surprised, I turned my body towards him.

"Third elder, you know about this but still choose not to tell me?"

"I am under no obligation to let you know about how deadly this herb has been prophesied to be." I couldn't believe my ears.

"Third elder…please tell me everything about it. Itis very crucial for us." Breathing in heavily, the third elder sat me down on the small chair in front of him and gently asked me.

"Before I revealed the true nature of that herb to you I needed to know why you wanted to know about this herb so badly." Then I revealed to the elder that Leif Lupus was the one who actually might have been influenced by this herb. Emeric and I explained and narrated how we had for the monster who had consumed this herb. There was enough evidence that Leif must have consumed this herb.

I could tell that the elders were taken aback and were now willing to share information about this herb.

"You are right. This herb is indeed native to the kingdom of Whispering Pines. The treacherous herb was only found in the outer ring where no man could ever dare to go. There was a reason why it was the most magical herb ever known to us. It grows in the depth of a special Valley where basilisk venom and nutrients of the specific land create such a component which affects our species." The story seemed as fascinating as it could be.

"If it was made from basilisk venom, then I was sure that it had a strong, very strong drawback." The third elder nodded his head and told me that I was not wrong.

"Drawback of this herb is that on a full moon day the user of this herb is vulnerable to all light." It confused me to hear that the user might be vulnerable to 'all light'. I asked the third elder as I tried to solve the puzzle. "Does this mean that the user of this drug goes blind?" The third elder smile as I asked the question.

" That is exactly what it does. You have always been good at guessing things, haven't you?" I smiled at the elder and got up from the chair.

"Thank you for sharing the valuable information with us elders. I think Emeric and I know what to do now." Emeric and I exchange a vicious smile between us.

"We will be leaving for our chamber now. Again, I cannot Express how thankful I am that you have shared this piece of information with us. It is always our duty to protect our pack isn't it?" After that, Emeric and I went out of the elder chamber and proceeded to go to the garden. The garden would be a safe place to discuss our next move. As there was no one around I dared to hold Emeric's hand in public. We entered the serene Garden and sat down on a bench.

"Emeric… I want you to plan your best plan to take over Leif." I encouraged emeric and gave him the upper hand. I was more than happy to follow his plan that he would be making. Gently caressing my hair, he kissed my cheek and told me, "There is no way I could possibly plan everything by myself. I need you by my side and I want you to plan well accordingly with me.

We are a fated pair right now Aurora. We are equal." I nodded my head at him, smiling and feeling happy in my heart.

"Allow me to pitch in with my ideas then," Noticing how big I was smiling Emeric asked what was on my mind.

"...The full moon is in 2 days." I revealed it to him.

"Oh that I noticed that as well yesterday as the garden seemed serene and calm. I wondered how it would feel to kiss you under the moonlight." My eyes widened at his sudden confession!

"...Then why did you not kiss me yesterday?!" I asked him in a panic voice as he chuckled and told me to lower my voice as they could hear us. The world doesn't know that we are a fated pair yet.

  That we were mates…
