CHAPTER 128: Acceptance

  ~Aurora~

The conflict had still not been resolved apparently…

There is more theft, more cheating and gambling going on between people who have lost their belongings and near and dear in the kingdom with a population of more than 20,000, the kingdom had to have a much more optimistic approach towards handling bereavement. Therefore, it was always good to bring in some festive activities to distract people from loss!

A few announcements from our side shall do it I think.

"Uh…hey." As Emeric and I were discussing plans, sitting at the destroyed balcony of the common hallway of the palace, Odin approached us. The day was bright, the sky clear and sunny. It has been a day and a half since everything receded. We were trying to put everything back into place.

"Hi, Odin! Come, join us!" I invited him over.

"Yes. Thank you." I didn't know why he was being so formal with me. But then, I've realized that I'm not the only person apart from him who is here. The prince was glaring down at Odin. I'm sure the white haired man could sense it too.

"Odin…I…" I wanted them to know about what happened between each other. Me and Emeric to Odin, me and Odin to Emeric. They ought to know what was going on between us all. But it turns out that I was the one to be told things that will shock me…

"Aurora, there is something we both need to tell you." I widened my eyes at Odin.

"What…do you have to tell me?" I asked, weary.

"Prince Emeric and I were fighting for your attention. It all started when he came to rescue you in the third trial. Do you remember the fatal situation you were in? When we were traveling back to the exit point after that?"

"Hmm…that. I remember that. What happened there…? And between you both? Why were you two fighting for my attention?"

"Call it male instinct or anything of that sorts, but we both somehow knew or guessed our wildest guess that we might be interested in you. Ah, that day was terrible for me. I came running, I couldn't stop myself from saving you from the pain you were in. I just knew if be useless if I didn't tend to you, Aurora." Emeric suddenly spoke up as my jaw dropped to the floor.

"Other than the fact that you were so willing to care for me that day, Emeric…why did you guys even think of raising your hands on each other? And why didn't I know about it?"

"We fought a little, just a little while excusing ourselves to take a leak." I made a face at Odin, but my disgust somehow made the two men collaborate with each other as they high fived.

"All men need to have some decency."

"What? Peeing is natural, sweetheart!" Emeric retorted quickly! Odin laughed even louder at that point!

However, it felt nice to see that the two who have claimed to fight over me have been getting along. It is not everyday that I get to spend leisure time like this, laughing and being made fun of - which I'm not at all too stuck up with. Fun is fun, until a point. They don't cross that point.

Two of my life's most important men sitting there, collaborating in more ways than just business and leadership, it warms up my heart.

As I could see from Odin's perspective, he had openly admitted defeat. It was only about time until…

  "You're a lucky man, Emeric.

Aurora is the most humble, sweet and nurturing woman you could have ever found for yourself. No wonder that you two are a fated pair. You guys are made for each other…" I could sense the tremble in his voice. In my heart, I just knew that he was bleeding in his heart because of the words he was speaking. It's not easy to see the woman you've fallen in love with…paired by a divine grace to someone else.

Odin is a strong, strong man…

"I wish I had met you before, Odin. You're a wonderful leader. You'll make a wonderful leader one day. An alpha to another alpha, you can do it." Emeric spoke up to Odin as the white haired male gave the prince a tight lipped smile. I was melting at their sweet interaction….

"Odin…do you want to talk to me in private?"

"I don't think so, Aurora. It's alright. I'm alright. I have learned my lesson. But hey, you'd be the first one to know when I'd find myself my own mate. I know she's somewhere out there, waiting for me. After all war had conceded, i just know that my mate would come to me. It is all a divine intervention, isn't it?"

"Right…" I smiled at Odin. Emeric simply eyed at us both while pretending to be reading his little book, a journal of his ancestors. We three sat there in silence, the sunset was setting the mood. Birds were chirping from the trees around. I felt safe and serene amongst the company of the two men, whom I hold so dear to my heart.

Out of the blue, we heard Odin's father calling for his name.

"Yes, father!" Answering to the older man, Odin was getting up from his seat,

"Where…are you going?" I asked, suddenly, my heart feeling warmer.

  "Home, Aurora.

  I'm going back…home."

The way he said it…I could tell that a lot has been going on in his heart. I sprung up from my seat, making both men laugh at me.

"Oh, Aurora~" Odin almost stumbled backwards at the impact of our hug!

"You will never get away from me, alright!?

Our friendship is one of a kind! Even if you believed you could get away from me, it's not happening! I'd never let our friendship fade away!" I cried to the man!
