ARTEMIS' POV:-
I was reading books when I started hearing someone yelling. I could smell the anger all around the place. I could tell that it was Alpha Elijah yelling at everyone. I tried to stay away from his business and his pack. But I couldn't just let his people be roasted because of me. They didn't know who I was. Hesitantly, I stepped out of the study room and went downstairs. I followed the voices. Alpha Elijah's voice took me straight towards the living room. The doors were open. I saw about ten people kneeling in front of Elijah. While the three who beat me, were kneeling on the ground separately. The woman who joined the others later, stood up in front of Elijah.
The look on Elijah's face made me shiver. I was grateful that none of them sensed me around. I was actually hiding behind the doors. "Oh just stop it already. Who the hell is this little worm? She stepped into your apartment and you started questioning us? Who the hell is she? I didn't even sense a wolf on her. If she is your plaything, why are you being so sensitive about her? It's not a big deal." The third woman who joined my captives, yelled at Alpha Elijah angrily. Tears welled up in my eyes as she called me names. I didn't know why it always happened to me. I didn't do anything to harm anyone. I also didn't ask anyone to pull me into this world.
In fact, the moment it happened, my whole life turned upside down. "Watch your fucking mouth, Emma. She is part of the pack. She was bitten in front of me. She is a wolf. And now she is under my protection." Alpha Elijah took a step closer to Emma and yelled at her.
"He is going to kill them. It is what it looks like." Tracy exclaimed from inside of me. My eyes widened in horror as I heard her.
"I thought you were supposed to be sleeping. How come you are wide awake?" I asked Tracy as I noticed how she was enjoying everything so much.
"Oh, girl! You are so boring. There was a drama around me and I am here to enjoy it." As expected, Tracy was enjoying that fight within the family. And I hated that.
"Wait! Is she the one you told me about, Elijah? The girl who was bitten by the wild wolf. Is she the one?" The oldest one of the members among the others asked Alpha Elijah in a low tone. Alpha Elijah took a deep breath and nodded his head. Of course I knew that they were talking about me.
"Wait! What? She was bitten by a wild wolf. Are we supposed to kill her before she comes to get revenge upon you for killing the Alpha who bit her in the first place?" Emma asked Alpha Elijah in a curious tone. My eyes widened in horror as I heard her. The last thing I wanted was to be killed by them
"You don't have to be worried about it. Elijah will never let anyone hurt us. I can guarantee that." Tracy spoke in an exciting tone as she might have felt the panic rising in my chest.
"How can you know that?" I asked her out of concern. I was worried about my future. Being imprisoned was okay but I didn't want to die without meeting my mom again.
"It's because he is our mate. He will never let anyone hurt us. Trust me." Tracy replied to me in a low tone. I didn't understand what it was supposed to mean. But I was relieved that he would protect me at any cost.
Hearing Emma, Alpha Elijah shivered. The anger he was feeling inside his chest, I could feel that too. Even I shivered feeling his anger inside me as well. "Dare to lay a finger on her. I will rip you apart, Emma. She is not a wild Wolf. She is part of this pack. I have accepted her in my pack." Alpha Elijah replied to Emma in a low tone.
"Oh yeah! And you didn't even try to ask us if we accept her as well or not? You just made up your mind without asking us." Emma yelled again at Alpha Elijah. I feared if Alpha Elijah would do something he would regret later. I just didn't want Alpha Elijah to harm anyone for my sake.
"Just because you are my sister, doesn't mean you are allowed to run your mouth like this in front of me. I can rip your tongue out. I am not supposed to seek your permission before making a decision. You are supposed to ask me if you are about to murder an innocent soul." Aloha Elijah roared at her angrily. I didn't know how to stop that fight. Everyone looked hotheaded. Everyone screaming at each other could never end an argument.
"Fine! I will help you. Don't give me that puppy look. Just step inside and call his name. He will come running after you like a puppy." Tracy spoke in an annoyed tone. My heart almost stopped hearing her idea.
"He looks like he will murder someone. I can't just jump in and say nonsense." I flipped at her out of anger. She was annoying me.
"Oh trust me! I know what I am asking you. And don't forget. You and I are together in this. If anyone hurts you, they hurt me as well." Tracy replied to me in a low tone. As if telling me that I would be fine.
"Oh yeah! An innocent soul. What did she do to you brother? You screwed her once and now you are growling at us like a maniac. What is wrong with you?" Emma yelled at Alpha Elijah again. I could feel the darkness inside Alpha Elijah. As if he was about to murder someone.
"Go now! Or it's going to be too late." Tracy woke me up so I would act on the right time. Aloha Elijah took a step closer to Emma to get to her throat. I stepped out of the shadows before it would be too late.
"Alpha Elijah!" I called his name, as Tracy had asked me. Although she said it would be fine, I was still scared of his anger. To my surprise, there was a wide smile on his face as he turned to look at me.
"What is it, love?" My heart skipped a beat as he called me love. I was not sure if I was still afraid of him or if I was melting under his gaze.
"I ah… umm.. if you are not busy… I wanted your help. I ah… umm… I… I can't get the book I want to read next." I stammered as I had no idea what I was supposed to say to him. I just jumped in without thinking. Alpha Elijah turned to look at the others.
"It better not happen next time. All of you are forgiven. You may leave." I thought Alpha Elijah was going to scream at them again. But girl, I was so wrong. He calmly dismissed them all and walked towards me. He rested his hand on my back and pulled me back towards the study room.
