Chapter 33

  ARTEMIS' POV:-

The final bell ran and I sighed in relief. It was the end of the day. That day was just too busy for me. But I was able to get through it. I grabbed my stuff and walked towards Amy. Amy stuffed her books inside her bag and stood up. We walked out of the class together. "I am so exhausted. I don't think I can actually go on the date we were planning since last month." Amy complained and I couldn't help but giggle. She told me that Daniel had asked her out but because of his duties and work, they were not able to go on a date together. And finally, he had gotten a chance to take Amy out for the night.

It was good. I was happy to see her happy. But I was a little sad too. Living with the pack, watching them have fun with each other. Having a boyfriend. Having a relationship. Being with someone who would care about you. It was all kind of a dream for me. I never knew why my father didn't want me to have a relationship. And I also didn't find anyone special in my life. Well, not until now. I had started to think that there was something more between me and Elijah. He was usually mean and rude. But he was actually the second person in my life who cared about me. After I lost my mother, I never really had anyone who would ask me if I was doing fine.

While Alpha Elijah was different. He cooked for me. He took me out. Not on date but I was happy to spend time with him. I had started to feel this attachment between us. If only he would just ask me once. "I am happy for you, Amy. Daniel is a kind man. You are very lucky." I spoke in a low tone. She turned to look at me. There was a wide smile on her face. She hugged me and I also wrapped my arms around her.

"Thank you so much. You have no idea how happy I am today. I always waited for him to make a move. But it took him so long." Amy said in an excited tone. But by the end, her tone sounded more like annoyed.

We both covered our months and started laughing hysterically. It annoyed me too. I just never understood what he actually wanted. Elijah set the rules as if he was my boyfriend or my sugar daddy. And yet, he never did anything that could tell me about his intentions. "What are you going to do now? Are you going home? Or Daniel is picking you up from the school?" I asked Amy in a low tone and she giggled shyly.

"I am not that lucky. My mom is picking me up from school. Daniel will pick me up from home." Amy replied to me in a low tone while making annoyed faces.

I couldn't help but giggle at her. She grabbed her books from her locker and walked away. "I will see you tomorrow at school. Take care of yourself, Missy." Amy said loudly as she walked away. I also waved my hand. Once she was gone, I turned back towards my locker. I grabbed my books from the locker. After locking it up again, I walked towards the gates of the school. I was looking around, waiting for Alpha Elijah to arrive. Suddenly, my eyes caught the sight of a face that felt very familiar. A frown appeared on my face as I looked around for that face again. A disappointed look appeared on my face as I couldn't find that face again. I almost thought I saw my mother.

I jumped as someone placed their hand on my shoulder. I looked back and sighed in relief. It was Alpha Elijah. "What is wrong with you? Did something happen? Are you alright? Why are you so jumpy all of the sudden?" He asked me in a low tone while staring into my eyes. My heart fluttered as I saw the concern in his eyes for myself. As I said, he was the second person in my entire life who cared about me.

"Nothing. I just thought I saw a familiar face in the crowd. But it was just nothing. I think I am just exhausted." I replied to him in a low and sad tone. I was sad because I wanted to see my mother again.

I knew it was still too early for me to start looking for my mother. I was eighteen but I was still trying to adjust to this new life. I knew it would take me a while to start looking for her. Alpha Elijah was looking at me with a confused look on his face. In a moment, he wrapped one of his arms around my shoulders and pulled me towards the car. "It's alright. I will take you home then. I will cook for you. You can take a power nap after you have eaten." Alpha Elijah replied to me in a low tone. He opened the door for me and helped me in his car. Once I was seated, he shut the door and walked towards the other side.

He hopped into the car, started the engine and drove off. I was yawning all the way home. Thankfully, it didn't take us long. Alpha Elijah drove pretty fast. He parked the car and stepped out. He walked towards my side and opened the door. Before I could have stepped out, Alpha Elijah pulled me out of the car and threw me on his shoulder. "What are you doing? Put me down. I am not a sack of potatoes." I tried to yell at him but as he walked towards the elevator, my stomach started to tickle. He had one of his arms wrapped around my waist to keep me stable on his shoulder.

As the elevator door closed, Alpha Elijah slapped my butt a few times. I was not sure why I was moaning as he spanked me. I was not sure what I actually felt. But if I was being honest, I wanted more. He put me down on my feet again and grabbed my hand. As if I was a child. I had no idea why he treated me like a child. I was not a child. I was a woman. But it was like he didn't care at all. Or maybe, he just liked it. Either way, I knew that he was spoiling me.

I didn't understand why he would be rude to me sometimes. Why couldn't he be playful like that always. I knew I still had a lot to learn about him. I hardly knew him at all. "Go and change. I will prepare something for you. What would you like to eat, baby girl?" He asked me as we stepped into the penthouse.

"I am dying to eat that cheese pasta you made the other day. Will you cook that right now?" I replied to him almost instantly, showing him the puppy look on my face. He chuckled as he heard me pleading. He pinched my cheek lightly and nodded his head.
