CHAPTER 45

  THIRD PERSON'S POV:-

Elijah was holding Marina by her neck. Her feet were not touching the ground. She was struggling to breathe while trying not to free her neck from Elijah's strong hold. All her attempts failed in front of Elijah's powers. Marco howled loudly in warning. Elijah turned to look at Marco. Elijah smirked mischievously and threw Marina on the ground like a piece of trash. "Now we can talk." Elijah said in a neutral tone as he walked towards the couch and sat down.

Marco ran towards his wife to check on her. She was breathing heavily and coughing hard. "What the fuck! How dare you hurt my wife?" Marco yelled at Elijah out of anger. Elijah rolled his eyes in annoyance as he heard Marco.

"Don't forget that you are standing in my pack lands. And you came here without asking for my permission." Elijah spoke in an annoyed tone while he was watching Marco and Marina. Daniel was standing behind the couch where Elijah was seated.

"And your wife should know her place. You should tell her that the place of Luna is beside Alpha, not in front of her. If she would have minded her business, she wouldn't have gone through this." Elijah added in a low and angry tone. He hated the women who try to cross the boundaries Elijah had set around himself.?

There was only one woman he allowed to cross his boundaries. Because he knew she would never take advantage of Elijah's trust. "If you are done licking your wife's wounds, come here and talk. I don't have all the time in the world to keep on waiting for you." Elijah growled as Marco didn't move from Marina's side. He was already annoyed because Marco and Marina disturbed him while he was with Artemis.

Marco growled angrily as he heard Elijah disrespecting marina again and again. "You better watch your tongue, Alpha Elijah. You are not the only Alpha werewolf in this entire world. I also belong to this world. And I am the alpha from your neighbor pack lands." Marco tried to warn Elijah as best he could. He was aware of the fact that Elijah's powers were greater than the powers that were possessed by Marco.

As Elijah heard Marco's lame warnings, he started laughing hysterically. Daniel was about to punch Marco to shut him. But Elijah stopped Daniel. "You and your lame threats. You should be grateful that my pack didn't tear you apart the moment you stepped into my lands without asking for my permission. Be grateful. Or my pack can still do something about you and your wife." Elijah replied to Marco in a taunting tone. Entering in another pack land without asking for permission from the Alpha was known as the threat to the pack and the alpha. Marco knew that he had officially threatened Elijah's place and his pack. Then Marina's behavior set everything on fire. Marco knew that Elijah had all the rights to deal with them like a threat.

Marco turned to glare at Marina. Marina gulped hard and bowed her head in submission. Marco stood up and walked towards the couch placed in front of Elijah. Marco sat down on the couch and looked at Elijah. "I apologize for the mistake my wife has made. We were not here to provoke anyone. We just came here to take our prisoner back. I know that prisoner is under the shade of your tail. And you are protecting her." Marco spoke in a neutral tone, avoiding to create any more problems. Marina didn't dare to raise her head as she didn't want to fight her husband. Marco was rather eager to take that prisoner he was talking about, back to his palace.

Elijah listened to Marco without interrupting him. He kept his expressions neutral so Marco couldn't figure out what Elijah was feeling or thinking about. "Watch your tongue when you talk about our pack members. If your prisoner was that important to you, you should have locked her in a better prison." Daniel responded to Marco instead of Elijah. Elijah was staring at Marco. He was breathing heavily to keep himself calmed. He was also keeping Dean in control.

"Alpha Elijah, didn't you teach your Beta some manners? He should know that he is not allowed to speak while you and I are having a conversation." Marco taunted Elijah as soon as he got a chance. Elijah had a small smile on his face. Bit from inside, he was burning in rage.

Elijah turned his head to look at Daniel. Daniel exhaled sharply then nodded his head. Elijah nodded back and turned his gaze back towards Marco. "How about you answer me first? I thought we agreed to take care of the refugees under our pack boundaries. You went back on your words. And now you have the audacity to come here, claiming my pack member as your prisoner?" Elijah roared at Marco angrily. He had been pissed since the day it all happened. At first, he had nothing to do against Marco. But then, he found solid evidence against Marco. Something that could give Elijah the advantage to take over Marco's pack if Elijah wanted to do so.

But Marco didn't know anything about it. Marco's heart started pounding against his rib cage as he heard Elijah. But he controlled his heart beat almost instantly. "I don't know what you are talking about. That girl was lying under my pack boundaries. I did nothing wrong. Now I am here to take what is rightfully mine. Give me back my prisoner so I can get going." Marco replied to Elijah in a calmed tone. His wolf helped to stay calm. Because Marco would have started sweating the way Elijah suddenly asked him that question.?

Elijah turned his head to look at Daniel. Daniel and Elijah chuckled together as they heard Marco. Although Elijah wanted to pounce on Marco and tear him into shreds, he controlled himself so he wouldn't end up making a scene.

Of course they were all supposed to answer about their actions to the King of the werewolves. Elijah couldn't make the same mistakes as his father. He stayed calm and he kept his wolf calmed too. Daniel dialled a number on the landline and waited. Within a few minutes, someone picked up the call from the other side. "Alpha Elijah is waiting for you in the meeting hall. You better get here." Daniel ordered on the phone. Without waiting for an answer from the other side of the line, Daniel slammed the receiver back on the landline. Marco tried hard to listen to whom Daniel was talking to. But he failed as no one actually said a single word from the other side of the line.

"Just let me out. Set me free. I shall take care of this bastard. He dared to take my mate away from me. Now he has the audacity to show his fucking face in front of me and claim my Artemis as his." Dean growled at Elijah angrily as he didn't stop struggling against Elijah. It was hard to keep Dean in control when someone tried to claim Artemis as theirs. While Elijah called Artemis his, Dean always acknowledged Artemis' freedom. He never wanted to keep Artemis locked inside the penthouse. In fact, it was Dean who forced Elijah to set Artemis free. Elijah then understood how important it was to set Artemis free.

Elijah was worried that Artemis would never come back to Elijah if he set Artemis free. But Dean placed his bet that Artemis would always come back to Elijah. And in the end, Dean won that bet.?

A light knock on the door of the hall turned all the heads towards the door. The doors opened and Ryan stepped into the meeting hall. He walked towards Elijah and bowed his head. "Ryan! Will you tell Marco what you actually saw that night? The night when our pack joined hands with Marco's pack to get rid of the Wild pack. Marco has a narrowed memory. He can't remember everything." Elijah ordered Ryan in a neutral tone. His eyes were on Marco as he spoke to Ryan.

Ryan turned around to face Marco. "Sure, Alpha. After you killed the wild wolf Alpha in our pack boundaries, you left the human girl behind the treeline so other wild wolves wouldn't touch her. I saw Alpha Marco stepping into our pack land and dragging the girl away." Ryan spoke in a low tone. He didn't say anything else. He just answered the question Elijah had asked him.

"Oh, he did, didn't he? What happened next? Did he leave the girl on his pack lands or did he do something that is going to get him in trouble?" Elijah asked Ryan in a taunting tone. The taunt was for Marco who had been claiming Artemis as his prisoner. Elijah couldn't bear to hear anyone call Artemis by any disrespecting names.

Marco was sweating as he heard Ryan. Marco made sure no one was looking at home when he committed that crime. But he had no idea that one of Elijah's wolves had broken free from his cage. And he saw everything that Marco did to Artemis that night. "Oh, Alpha, he did something to get in trouble. He immediately called his beta and ordered him to take the girl away immediately. He was not just hiding the girl. He was making sure we would never be able to find the girl." Ryan responded to Elijah's questions in a flat tone. Elijah nodded his head while he was glaring at Marco. The smile on Elijah's face vanished minutes ago.

"Alright, Ryan. You may go now. Your work is done here." Daniel ordered Ryan. Ryan nodded his head and walked away.?

"Do you still have words to defend yourself or you are trying to pounce at me? Let me tell you something, Marco. None of your ideas are going to help you right now. What you did was against the deal we had made. In fact, in exchange, I can take a part of your land. You must know that." Elijah asked Marco in a low tone. His tone became angrier as he threatened Marco.

As for Marco, he hardly had anything to say to Elijah in his defence. He was busted. Not just? because Ryan saw everything with his own two eyes. But because he was sweating and his heart was beating wildly insi his rib cage.

Marco already knew that Elijah had been watching Marco like a hawk. The look in Elijah's eyes was enough for Marco to know that he could no longer lie to Elijah. "Get your wife and get your fucking asses off of my lands. If I ever saw you, your wife or any of your pack members wandering around my pack lands or trying to break in, as I have received the words from my pack members, let me tell you that I will not hesitate but take over your pack and kill you both. Or better, I will throw you in the same dungeon and feed you something you are allergic to. This is my last warning. Get Out." Elijah warned Marco as he stood up. Without waiting for Marco to respond, Elijah left the meeting hall.
