CHAPTER 63

  ARTEMIS' POV:-

I was standing in the middle. All the pack members had circled around us. Elijah yelled at me yet again. Because I hadn't answered his question. "Keep your voice down. Alpha or not, I will not bear anyone looking down on me." I yelled back at Elijah. His eyes went wide as he heard me yelling back at him.

"Artemis, that's enough. It's as far as you have spoken. I will not allow you to utter another word." Uncle Grey growled at me angrily. He still thought he could stop me because he was lazy enough not to mention it to Elijah.

"Oh, shut up, you lazy old man. I should never have trusted you in the first place. And I should never have listened to my fucking wereco.. my wolf. You both are cowards." I yelled back at Uncle Grey to show him his place. He was equally shocked to hear what I just said to him.

"Yes, I beat the crap out of your sister. Why? I better tell you that alone. Because I still have my consciousness with me." I growled at Elijah in a low tone. Since it was not Elijah's fault, I decided not to yell at him. Although, he yelled at me without knowing the reason why I beat his precious little sister.

"Why do you want to go to the corner? So you can fill Elijah's head with lies against Emma?" Nichole jumped in the middle of the conversation. I dug my claws into my palms until my palms started bleeding.

I turned my head towards Ryan and he nodded his head. "Alpha! It's better if we go somewhere private to talk about it. You don't want to hear about it in front of everyone." Ryan spoke in a low tone.

"No way! If you are talking about me, you should talk in front of everyone. We need to know what you both are cooking since you are the only one standing by Artemis' side, Ryan." Emma yelled at Ryan angrily. She really had a wish to die that early.

"Alpha, please. I suggest we go to the private room to talk about this." Ryan tried to argue again. Emma growled angrily as she walked towards Ryan. Before she could get anywhere near him, I was standing in front of him.

"Whatever Artemis wants to say, she should say it in front of everyone. I can't help this situation, Ryan. I don't know why you are getting so sensitive about it." Elijah announced loudly and Ryan narrowed his head. I growled in anger as Emma was actually asking for it.

"Be at ease, Ryan. You tried. It's not your fault anymore." I told Ryan while patting his shoulder. He slowly nodded his head but he didn't look at anyone.

I walked back towards Elijah and stood in front of him. "Because you ordered me, I am doing it. So you better not blame me for anything. Since you all have a common habit to step on others' backs." I growled at Elijah. I saw a hint of pain in his eyes when he heard me.

Elijah masked his hurtful look with his anger. "Your sister has been trying to break your territory lines. Yes, I beat the shit out of her. But no one fucking accuse me of assaulting anyone. I beat her to stop her from leaving the pack." I told Elijah everything honestly. Elijah's eyes widened in shock as he heard me.

"It can't be. She is lying, Elijah. She is trying to hide her wrong doing by lying to you. I am part of this pack by blood. I can never do this to my pack and especially to you." Emma tried to defend herself.

I pulled the flash drive out of my pocket..I grabbed Elijah's hand and slammed the flash drive in Elijah's hand. "I figured she would try to backfire at me. I fucking don't lie because I have nothing to hide. But if you still have any more questions, instead of wasting my time, look through this flash drive. The task you gave me and the incident you were just interrogating, you will find all the answers inside this flash drive." I added in a cold tone without looking into Elijah's eyes.

I knew that looking into his eyes would make me weak. So I avoided making eye contact with him. "Fuck with this pack meeting. I am out of here." I growled loudly as I turned around and walked away. Instead of going towards the elevator, I went towards the stairs.

I went all the way down to the parking lot. I hopped onto my Scooty. I started the engine and drove off. I was shaking with anger because of everything that happened. Ever since it happened, I had been asking Uncle Grey if he informed Elijah about it. Or if he even asked anything to Emma. But every single time, he told me that he didn't get the chance to talk to Emma about it. The moment it all came down, he decided to back away and watch me fall.

He thought he could make me stop. He might have planned for me to take the blame for his beloved crazy ass niece. But I was not stupid. I was not a liar and I was certainly not a traitor.

I parked the Scooty and walked towards the beach. To clear up my mind, I always went to the beach. The noise of waves helped me clear my mind. "It was not good. You actually threw Emma under the bus." Tracy tried to talk to me after everything she did.

"Shut the fuck up, you stupid old wolf. From now on, I will do whatever I am supposed to do. Where were you when they were about to sacrifice me for the sake of their family?" I growled back at Tracy angrily. She asked for it since she didn't help me out in that situation. Plus, it was her fault to begin with. She asked me to keep it a secret.

  ---------------------------------------------------------

I was lying on the bed on my stomach. There was a book in front of me. I was reading the book peacefully. My bedroom door opened and then it closed. I already recognized the person by his scent. So I didn't turn to look at him. I might have calmed down but I was still not over whatever just happened a few hours ago. Elijah crawled up on the bed and laid down on top of me. He wrapped one of his arms around my waist. He placed a soft kiss on my bare shoulder.

I tried to pull away from him but he growled for me to stop resisting him. He rolled over on the bed, holding me on top of his body. I grabbed his index finger and twisted it until he finally gave up and let me go.

I made my way towards the balcony. I hopped onto the hammock swing and started reading the book again. Elijah came towards me. He snatched my book and threw it away. "What the fuck is your problem? You don't want me here. Fine. I am going." I yelled at Elijah in an angry tone as I hopped off of the hammock swing. I walked towards the dresser to grab my Scooty keys and my jacket. Before I could walk away, Elijah grabbed my hand and snatched the keys from my hand.

He pulled me up and threw me on his shoulder. He carried me towards the bed and threw me on my bed. I turned to growl at him because of the anger. But a whimper came out of my mouth as I saw his lustful eyes. He leaned in and pecked my lips. "Don't worry. I am not an asshole to do it without asking for your permission. I am just trying to talk to you. That's all." Elijah assured me in a gentle tone as he sat down on the bed. I couldn't doubt him for a second that he would ever force himself on me. I knew him that much. He was not that kind of man who would try to dominate a woman for his manly satisfaction.

The reason why I started trusting Elijah was because I knew he was different from other men. At the beginning, he kept me locked. It took me a while to understand that he was not dominating me. He was just terrified of losing me. And that's why, he kept me in front of his eyes. And as he knew that I almost died in Marco's dungeon, he began worrying about my life. He feared that Marco would come and kill me since I ate his wife's hand. Well, it sure tasted good. But I never wanted to do that again. That bitch was corrupted by her soul. And I didn't want to be corrupted like her after eating her flesh.

I sat up on the bed as I heard him. Elijah wrapped one of his arms around me and pulled me close to his chest. "Why did you not tell me what was happening with Emma? Why did you feel the need to hide the truth from me?" Elijah asked me in a low tone. He laid down on the bed and I placed my head on his chest. It angered me that he was asking me that stupid question. But it was not his fault.

I took a deep breath to calm myself down. "Tracy told me about the punishment a wolf was supposed to go through when they tried to betray their alpha. I didn't want you to do it to your sister." I replied to Elijah in a low tone since I was unable to control my anger.

Elijah tightened his hold around me and pecked my forehead. "Sister or not, it's something that shouldn't concern you. It's between me and something an alpha should do." Elijah replied to me in a low tone. I knew it was something I shouldn't step in. But I didn't want him to do something cruel to his sister. After losing everything in his life, I know Elijah was broken from inside.

Elijah sat up on the bed with a serious look on his face. I also sat up. The anger inside me vanished as I was trying to calm him down. I wrapped my arms around his torso and placed my head on his back. "What are you going to do with her?" I asked him in a concerned tone while rubbing my cheek on his back.

"I am not sure about anything for now. We are waiting for the full moon night to make sure that it's actually happening." Elijah replied to me in a low tone. He grabbed my hands and pecked my palms. I knew something was bothering him and I wanted him to tell me what he was thinking about.

Elijah pulled me in front of him then made me sit on top of his lap. "Something happened after I left, didn't it?" I asked him in a low tone as I placed my head on his shoulder. He inhaled sharply as he heard me.

"She is using this idiotic conflict between you both as an excuse. She is accusing you for plotting against her. Since you are the only one who had been around her whan she tried to break the boundaries, no one else could vouch. So we have to wait for the next full moon night." Elijah replied to me in a low tone while gritting his teeth in anger. I could feel myself getting angrier as I heard him.

Emma was cunning, more than I had ever imagined. "But that means she will do everything in her power to make me look bad. This is not the right decision." I spoke in a low tone. I was nervous because I felt like alll eyes were set on me. I had always hated being the centre of attention.

"You will be, if I told them about my plan. I just told her that she was free to go and since Emma was not lying, it means there is something you did wrong. But she doesn't know that you and I will be watching her from afar upcoming full moon night." Elijah replied to me in a low tone. There was a mischievous grin on his face. He was planning on to test her by himself.
