ELIJAH'S POV:-
I woke up in the morning and looked around. It was past 10 O'Clock in the morning when I looked at the wall clock. I looked at my phone. Someone dismissed my alarm for the day. I turned to look at the other side of my bed. Artemis was not in the bed. "She might have turned off the alarm and left for the college interview without waking me up. But why would she do that? She looked so happy when I told her that she would be going with me." I thought to myself as I sat up on the bed. I yawned lazily and stretched my arms above my head. Being with her was a blessing. I could forget the whole world while I was with her.
Shaking my head, I crawled out of the bed. I set my bed because I knew she hated the messy bed. She wouldn't even get onto the bed that was messy. I learned about her habits. And tried to keep them in my mind. As she never provoked me by doing something I hated. I walked into the bathroom and did my morning business. Then I hopped into the shower. Once I was done, I stepped out of the shower cubicle and brushed my teeth. Once done, I applied deodorant, wrapped a towel around my waist and stepped out of the bathroom. I stepped into the closet to grab a tuxedo. I decided to wear something sexy and classic.
I grabbed a black tuxedo with a blood red shirt. I grabbed a black velvet bow for the day. I grabbed silver cufflinks and a silver watch to match my outfit. I combed my hair backwards and applied gel to keep them in place. I matched my outfit with black cap toe boots with red soles. Once I was ready, I stepped out of the closet. I turned to look at her bedroom door. As always, it was close. I knew she had already left. I made my way towards the kitchen. Although I had asked her not to go anywhere near the stove, she still made me breakfast before she left. Sometimes, she liked to treat me the way she could. So I didn't push her.
She knew how to cook because her stepmother made her cook daily. I had once eaten lunch she had made for me. She cooked homemade pasta for me. She might have learned from Amy that I liked the handmade pasta very much. It was delicious. I sat down on the chair by the counter and took a huge bite of the scrambled eggs. As I chewed the eggs, I frowned in confusion. There was something crunching inside my mouth. The eggs had red chilli flakes and sugar in it. I immediately spat it out of my mouth. I tossed the eggs on my plate from left to right to check the eggs. The scrambled eggs actually had egg shells cooked with the eggs.
It didn't make sense. Artemis was good enough to make pasta with her own hands, and she didn't know how to make scrambled eggs. She used to do it at her father's home every single day. She could make all kinds of breakfasts, lunches and dinners. She could cook casual meals and fancy meals as well. The taste of red chilli flakes merged with sugar stayed in my tongue. It turned the taste of my mouth into bitter. I grabbed the cup of coffee and took a sip. I spat that out too since it didn't have any sugar. My coffee was salty. As I hated the sugar cubes, I always bought caster sugar. The bottles were the same and since I was the only one who used the kitchen, I never labelled them.
I hated the labelled jars. I liked my kitchen and utensils nice and clean. I hopped off of the chair and went towards the sink. I turned on the water and gargled a few times. But it didn't make any difference. I turned off the water and walked towards the fridge. I opened the fridge to grab the bottle of milk. All the things inside the fridge came right at me. If I hadn't jumped backwards, my clothes would have gotten dirty. The dirty utensils were inside the fridge. Whoever used the kitchen, left the milk bottle uncapped. Mango and orange juice bottles spilled over all the things in the fridge. My spotless kitchen looked like the hellish kitchen of a food street.
I walked towards the sink again to wash my hands. I had some of the eggs on my hands. Once I washed my hands, I opened the dishwasher. I growled as I looked at the mess inside. Someone put the dirty utensils in the dishwasher without washing the dishes. "Do you like it? I made breakfast for you." I heard Alisa from behind and I lost it. I turned around growling in anger.
"What the fuck were you thinking? If you don't know how to be in the kitchen, then don't step into my kitchen at least. Now I have to hire home cleaners to clean up this mess that you have created. GET OUT OF MY APARTMENT, NOW!" I yelled at Alisa angrily without even thinking about her feelings.
With tears in her eyes, she ran away. But I didn't feel any remorse. It was my home and I asked her more than once not to mess things up in my apartment. I kept my kitchen clean and Artemis kept the rest of the apartment clean. We both shared the apartment and that's how we lived. She had no right to mess it up and think that I would appreciate it. I stepped out of the kitchen. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and dialled Uncle Grey's number. He was the one who always hired the cleaners for my apartment. Uncle Grey picked up the call at the end of the third bell.
"Elijah! Is everything okay? You don't call me this early in the morning unless it's something important." Uncle Grey asked me as soon as he picked up the call.
"I need a favour from you. I want you to hire three cleaning groups. Alisa was in my kitchen and she made a mess. It has been a while since I called cleaners. Just ask them not to touch anything they are not supposed to touch. And please, supervise them, will you?" I asked Uncle Grey in a low tone while I was trying to keep my anger in control. It was not his fault and I couldn't yell at him. I just didn't want Artemis to clean up Alisa's mess after she would come back home from her college interview.
That's why I wanted Uncle Grey to hire the cleaners and get my apartment cleaned up. "Yeah, sure. Don't worry about it. I will be there to keep an eye on the cleaners. You calm down and go to work." Uncle Grey replied to me in a calmed tone. I sighed as I pulled my phone down and hung up. I stepped into the elevator and punched the button for the ground floor.
My car was already waiting for me outside. I saw Daniel's text as I hung up. As I was late, he came to get me himself. The elevator door opened and I walked straight out of the apartment building. Daniel was holding the door open as he saw me walking towards the car. I hopped into the car. He closed the door, hopped in himself and drove off.
I had an amazing mood when I woke up in the morning. And it was ruined because of Alisa. "Is everything alright, Alpha Elijah?" Daniel asked me in a low tone while he was driving. I noticed the hesitation in his question.
They all practically tried not to poke me whenever I was angry. Ever since Artemis came into my life, I had been calmed around them. That's the only reason why he was able to ask me that question. "It's Alisa. She trashed my kitchen. Made me eggs with eggshells, red chilli flakes and sugar. And a hot cup of coffee with salt in it. My fridge and my dishwasher are trashed as well." I replied to his question in an angry tone.
Daniel just nodded his head and kept on driving. He decided not to poke me more. Because I was angry. We finally reached the office building. Daniel parked the car at his usual spot. I got out of the car but Daniel didn't. I turned towards the car and leaned against the window. "I will be right behind you. You shouldn't wait for me." Daniel answered the question he knew I was about to ask him.
I knew exactly what was going on in his head. "Don't try to call Artemis right now. She has a college interview. She might be in the interview. You don't want to disturb her. Or you will see that I am not dangerous at all. She is the worst when she is angry." With a mischievous grin on my face, I informed Daniel. His eyes widened in horror as he heard me. Surely, he was not expecting that from me. I was not praising her. I was just telling him the truth. Daniel smiled nervously and slowly nodded his head.
It was almost dusk. The sun was almost down. I pulled my phone out to check if Artemis texted me anything at all. She was very excited about this last college. It was her dream college. And her grades were practically promising her sixty percent college scholarship. Rest of the forty percent were supposed to be my responsibility.
My phone suddenly started ringing. I frowned in confusion as the number of the principal of the college was flashing on my phone screen. I was expecting Artemis to call but instead, the college principal was calling me. I picked up the call and placed the phone on my ear. "Elijah Wilson!" I spoke in a low tone.
"Oh, Mr Wilson. It's nice that I got in touch with you. I have tried to call Artemis Carter all day. I have waited for her all day. I couldn't get in touch with her." The principal spoke in a calmed tone from the other side of the line. I recognized her voice. It was the secretary of the principal.
I frowned in confusion as I heard her. "What are you talking about? You didn't tell her the results?" I asked the secretary in a confused tone. She cleared her throat as she heard me.
"I am sorry to inform you, Mr Wilson. But Miss Carter didn't attend her college interview. The principal waited for her until now. But she didn't show up at all. That's why we have been trying to reach out to her. But she is not responding." The secretary replied to my questions in a calmed tone. My world shook as I heard her.
Artemis was passionate about her career and her education. There was no way she would have missed her interview with her dream college. "The principal wants to rearrange her meeting since she is a brilliant student with amazing grades. I will inform you for the next date. Please, make sure, Miss Carter arrives at the right day and time that principal Owens will set for her. Thank you. Have a good night, Mr Wilson." The secretary informed me in a neutral tone then she hung up.
At that time, I was just too shocked to speak. I was staring at my phone screen. A thousand negative thoughts were swimming inside of my head. I knew about her father's obsession with Artemis. She told me everything about it. Then Marco's pack was after her since they saw Artemis' coyote. I was not even sure what I was going to tell her mother if anything happened to her. They just got each other back in their lives.
My phone started ringing again. I quickly picked it up without looking at the name on the screen. I hoped it would be Artemis. "Elijah! You need to get to your apartment right now. It's Artemis." Uncle Grey spoke from the other side of the line in a panicked tone. My eyes widened in horror as I heard him.
