CHAPTER 82

ARTEMIS' POV:-

Elijah had a serious look on his face. He was angry because I jumped into something I was not allowed to talk about. "Tell me what you want to say. I want to know everything about Emma's matter. What made you think she is innocent?" Elijah asked me in a low tone. He tried not to show me that he was angry.

I turned to look at Emma. She was staring at me with a confused look in her eyes. "Emma is innocent. It was all Alisa's doing. She has been playing with us all since she came here." I replied to Elijah while staring into Emma's eyes. Emma didn't dare to look at me. I could smell her guilt from afar. The truth was that I was not doing it for her.

Elijah was the very reason why I was helping Emma. He was the only reason why I wanted to save Emma. I didn't want him to live with the guilt of losing his sister for something Alisa did. "What made you say that, Artemis?" Elijah asked me in a low tone. Elijah was surprised because I was defending the woman who tried to get rid of me more than once.

If it was not for Elijah, Emma would have killed me the next morning Elijah accepted me in the pack. And she didn't have remorse for what she did to me. She beat me so badly, Tracy had to take extra time to heal up completely. I stood up and walked in between. "Do any of you know that Alisa is actually pregnant? Not just with one but three babies." I asked them in a low tone.

I turned to look at Daniel and Uncle Grey. I looked at Lauren and Gregory. Eben Elijah was unaware of that fact. That bitch was taking something that kept the heartbeats of the babies so inaudible that even the wolves couldn't hear them. But Alisa didn't know that I was a coyote and coyotes were five times sharper than wolves in all their senses. "What? What are you talking about? How do you even know about it?" Elijah asked me in a curious tone while staring at me.

I walked back towards the couch and sat down beside Elijah. I grabbed his hand and placed it on my lap. "Alisa is here on a mission. She is no longer engaged with that Alpha. She might have slept with someone else." I told Elijah the truth. Something that I discovered just a few hours before. I didn't get the chance to tell him before after three months, I was able to sleep peacefully at night.

The meeting hall echoed with gasps as I mentioned that I had discovered. Alisa didn't say anything. I just figured out what she had been doing here. I put the two and two together and Tracy and I figured out why she came to the pack. "What are you talking about?" Uncle Grey asked me in a low tone.

"Alisa is a wild wolf now. The wild pack came looking for her because she is carrying the babies of a wild wolf Alpha." I added in a low tone. I knew that would raise a lot of questions against Elijah and me as well. But the truth was that we all were being played by that bitch.

"If that's the case, what is she doing here? And why would she target us all? What is going on?" Uncle Grey asked me in an angry tone. I guess he couldn't believe me. Or maybe he was just confused because I was defending Emma and he probably never expected me doing that ever in my life.

"She is here because her fiance might have broken the engagement and called the wedding off. That's why Alisa came here. Isn't it obvious what she really wants from this pack?" I replied to Uncle Grey in a low tone. Then I asked him a question. It was not that difficult for anyone to figure out what she really wanted.

Ryan was the one who growled in annoyance. He looked at me, gritting his teeth in anger. "That fucking bitch! You are not saying she is here for…" Ryan asked in an angry tone and I sighed.

"Yes! Unfortunately, that's the truth. She is after Eli." I replied to Ryan in a low tone. We had been working together for weeks. That made us understand each other's fighting styles and we also learned to be aware of each other's thoughts while surrounded by a group of people.

I couldn't have understood what she had been doing. If I wouldn't have seen the terror in her eyes. Terror of being exposed. "She has been trying to sleep with Elijah for quite some time. So she could blame Elijah for the pregnancy." I added in a low tone. It was my duty to protect what belonged to me. She had no rights over Elijah. She couldn't imprison him with something he didn't do.

Elijah growled angrily as he heard me. His fist collided with the table and it shredded into millions of pieces. "That fucking whore. I thought she was in need. I thought she needed my help." Elijah growled angrily. I intertwined my fingers with his and squeezed his hand a little so he would know that I believed him.

"Yes! She practically was. She didn't want to be a wild wolf. That's why she came to you. So she could be the Luna of your pack." I whispered softly in Elijah's ear. He turned his head towards me. I saw guilt and regret in his eyes. As if he was ashamed of doing something.

He was just helping someone he thought was innocent. He never knew that Alisa was just trying to get laid so she could blame those children on Elijah. "You don't need to feel guilty. I believe you, Elijah. I know you just wanted to help a helpless woman." I added in a loving tone. Just for him to know that I was with him. That I was no longer leaving him.

Elijah smiled as he leaned closer and placed a soft kiss on my forehead. My heart skipped a beat or two when I felt his lips on my skin. "You said you have proof that Emma is innocent." Elijah asked me as soon as he pulled away from me.

"Yes! Emma's behaviour with me was like a total bitch after Alisa came to the pack. But her violence against me escalated when Alisa came into the pack. It took me a while to realise that she was being manipulated." I added in a low tone. I was honest. I didn't hide my true feelings for Emma. Because I didn't want her to feel that I had forgiven her.

I knew Alisa was the one behind that mess. But that didn't give Emma the right ti set me up to get raped. I really didn't think I could ever forgive her for that. "That's no proof. It's what you are telling us." Uncle Grey asked in a low tone.

"I know! I actually have plenty. Alisa wanted to kill me and frame Emma for everything." I added in a low tone. Elijah squeezed my hand as he heard me. I knew he just didn't want to lose me.

I didn't want to lose him either. That's why I started watching my back. I made sure no one would ever take me down again. "After the incident, I searched Emma's apartment. I found the bottle of poison in Emma's bedroom." I added further and Elijah growled angrily at Emma.

Emma flinched and stepped backwards. But Noah and Amira stopped her from leaving. "That means Emma poisoned you." Ryan spoke in a curious tone.

I turned my head towards Ryan and shook my head. A confused look appeared on his face as he saw me shaking my head. "No! It means someone tried to frame her. Because Emma wouldn't have hidden the empty poison bottle under her pillow." I answered the question Ryan was trying to ask me.

It was pretty foolish of that bitch trying to frame Emma for sins she had committed. She thought I would buy those lies. She had no idea I would be the one to check Emma's bedroom instead of Elijah. "Emma is not a wild wolf. I don't sense the disgusting scent of a wild wolf on Emma. But the poison bottle under Emma's pillow had a pungent scent on it, mixed with the scent of wolf's bane. Like it was touched by a wild wolf." I added in a low tone, explaining further why I was defending Emma.

Alisa was hoping that I would die with the poison and Elijah would find the poison bottle under Emma's pillow. I knew Elijah. He wouldn't have thought once before killing Emma for my murder. He would have been a mess if I would have died that night. Alisa's plan was pretty good. Wolf's bane just didn't work as fatal on coyotes as it worked on wolves. Alisa didn't know I was a coyote.
