CHAPTER 84

  ARTEMIS' POV:-

Elijah pulled away from me but I wanted more. I tried to reach out for more. He just chuckled. As if it was funny. I tried to get off of his arms because I was suddenly angry at him. He didn't give me what I wanted from him. Elijah grabbed my hair and pulled my head backwards. I gasped as his teeth lightly grazed my skin. It didn't hurt me but set my body on fire again.

The elevator door opened again and Elijah stepped out with me in his arms. I giggled softly as he carried me towards his bedroom. "You know, I am not a baby. I can take care of myself." I whispered softly in his ear.

Elijah turned his head towards me and smirked. He leaned his head forward and rubbed the tip of his nose with my nose. "I know, baby girl. I know you are smart and tough and very fast." Elijah whispered softly but I heard the pride in his voice while he was talking about me. As if I made him proud.

He kicked open the door of his bedroom and walked towards the bed. He laid me down in his bed gently. Then he sat down on the edge of the bed. I was holding his hand on my chest. With his other hand, he was brushing his hand on my head. "How do you know all that?" I asked him curiously.

Elijah chuckled softly as he heard me. He leaned over and pecked my cheek. "Because I talked to Ryan and the others. They told me how you were able to kill half of the wild wolf pack on your own." Elijah replied to the question I asked him. I saw pride shining in his eyes so brightly when he was talking about that night. As if I didn't something impossible and he was so proud of that.

I had never been so happy in my life. I never thought he would be so proud of me. And seeing the proud smile on his face made my heart warm. "I think it's just part of the perks for someone who has a coyote." I shyly spoke, avoiding his gaze.

No one ever praised me like this before. I never saw pride in anyone's eyes for me. Maybe that's why it was suddenly a big deal for me. Maybe, I couldn't remember what happened to me that night. I could only see his pride. I could only hear him praising me. "Yes! It is. And your intelligence is combined with Tracy's speed. You said Tracy is an ancient creature. That makes her experienced." Elijah praised me again. This time, he mentioned Tracy too.

Tracy started wiggling her trimmed tail happily and howled happily inside me. "Yeah! Her experience gives us the window of opportunity to come up with a strategy faster than our enemy." I also praised Tracy. If it was not for her, I wouldn't have survived that night. Tracy made sure I would be safe. She made sure to protect Ryan.

I knew I would always be grateful to her for everything she did that night. She didn't let those bastards touch me. Yes, I felt their touch but Tracy was the one who bore it. "You did good in battle. You should be very proud." Elijah whispered softly in my ear while brushing his hand on my head.

"Are you proud?" I asked Elijah curiously.

Elijah chuckled softly as he heard my question. He pecked my lips, leaving bits of the taste of his mouth on my lips. I quickly licled my lips to taste his mouth on my lips. "Of course I am. I am proud of you. I am proud of Tracy. You both made it out alive. You made me so proud." Elijah replied to my question.

Tracy howled again in happiness as she heard Elijah. A bright smile appeared on my face because he praised me again. "Now! Be a good girl. Close your eyes and sleep. You need to rest. You said you haven't slept in days." Elijah whispered softly while he kept brushing his hand on my head.

I nodded my head with a smile on my face. As I closed my eyes, I suddenly felt Elijah pulling his hand away from my hold. I opened my eyes again with a confused pout on my face. "Where are you going?" I asked him in a confused tone.

Elijah smiled at me. He leaned over. I gasped because our faces were inches apart. "Do you want me to stay, baby girl?" Elijah asked me huskily. I could taste his breath inside my mouth.

For a while, I could hardly breathe. It took me a minute to control myself. "Yes! I want you to cuddle with me." A hushed whisper escaped my lips. His lips curled up in a grin as he heard me.

As if he was waiting for me to say that. "Okay, move over." Elijah whispered softly as he gently pushed me. I quickly moved over. Elijah laid down on the bed with me and covered our bodies with the comforter. I wrapped my arms around him and laid my head in his chest.

Elijah whispered one of his arms around my body. He pushed the other one inside my shorts. He didn't do much. He was gently brushing the tips of his fingers on my shaved pussy lips, tickling me down there. I started moaning because it was turning me on. "Shhh … everything is alright now. You are in my arms. I am never gonna leave you alone again." Elijah whispered softly in my arms as I moved in his arms.

I was not uncomfortable. His touches were as gentle as he had always been with me. I looked up at his face and found him staring at me. "You promise?" I asked.

Elijah chuckled softly and pulled his hand out of my shorts. He wrapped his arms around me tightly. Tight enough so our scents mingled. His hold didn't hurt me in any way. "Yes! I promise, baby girl. I am never repeating that mistake ever again." Elijah promised me.

A smile appeared on my face. I was waiting to hear that again. I wanted him to promise me that he would never let me go. "Come on now! Close your eyes. I am not going anywhere." Elijah whispered softly and kissed the top of my head.

He closed his eyes. I was staring at him. He looked so beautiful when he was pretending to do something. "Elijah!" I whispered softly.

"Hmmm…" he hummed but didn't open his eyes.

"I was so scared when I was not around you. I tried to be strong. But without you, everything was awful. " I told him how I felt that night and for the three months I was away from him.

Elijah opened his eyes again and looked at me. "Shhh… I am here now. I am with you. You don't have to be scared anymore." He whispered softly in my ear, rubbing my back gently so I would calm down.

"What if I was impregnated by that wild wolf? Would you have kicked me out as well?" I asked Elijah in a low tone. I wanted to know how he would have reacted if I had gotten a wild wolf baby.

"Artemis! Don't say that. I would never do that. There is a difference between you and Alisa." His tone was hushed but he was scolding me for comparing myself with Alisa.

"What is that difference for you?" I asked in a curious tone.

"You are pure. While Alisa is a slut. She has always been. I just shut my eyes every single time I learned something terrible about her." Elijah replied in a calmed tone. I felt his words coming straight from the depths of his heart.

"Did she break your heart?" I asked in a concerned tone because I saw pain in his eyes.

"More than once. She broke it over and over and over and over again. And I just kept on giving her chances." Elijah replied in a low growl.

"Until she left and a year later, I was invited to her engagement. It shattered my heart completely. I thought I was happy. But I was not. She promised to be with me forever. And yet, she got engaged to a man she said she didn't know." He continued in a low tone. Just the reminder of Alisa made his face contorted with pain.

"Do I make you happy?" I asked him in a low tone, reminding him of my presence.

"Baby girl, you are my universe. You are the reason why I want to live. I will never break your heart ever again. I promise." Elijah replied to me with a wide smile on his face. Then he promised to never break my heart again.

"You didn't break my heart. It was a misunderstanding." I whispered softly as I buried my face in the crock of his neck.

"No! I am talking about the night I brought Alisa here. I broke your heart back then. I never apologised. And I never even ask you anything about it." Elijah added in a low tone. I pulled my head out to look at him.

"It's okay! I am just happy that everything will be normal now." With a wide smile on my face, I replied to him.

"It will be. I promise you." Elijah promised again in a low tone.

"Good night, Eli." I whispered softly as I buried my face in the crock of his neck again.

"Good night, baby girl." He greeted me back as he pushed his hand in my shorts again. I didn't know why it felt that good. But I couldn't control myself. Giggling softly, I closed my eyes.
