CHAPTER 91

THIRD PERSON'S POV:-

Elijah placed a soft kiss on Artemis' forehead. With a sweet smile on her face, Artemis stepped out of the meeting place of the pack. Once she disappeared, Elijah turned around to look at his mother. No! He was glaring at her. With the most intense look that he could have ever made. His jaw was clenching. The veins on his temples were bulging. He was breathing heavily. "What the hell are you doing here? Why are you back in our perfect lives?" Elijah growled loudly at his mother angrily.

The hall shook with the vibration of his growl. It almost sounded like a howl. His anger was practically out of control. The person he hated the most in his life, was standing in front of him. Hearing the questions Elijah had asked, Grace, Elijah's mother smiled politely. "Oh! Can't I visit my own children? Is it a crime?" Instead of responding to Elijah's question, Grace asked him more questions. That angered Elijah some more.

Even his wolf was so angry, he had to keep picturing the smiling face of Artemis in his mind so Dean wouldn't come out and rip their mother into shreds. "Don't play that fucking game. You don't give a fuck about neither me, nor Emma." Pointing his finger at her, Elijah yelled at Grace. It was all so emotional for him. First the abduction of his beloved Uncle, the one who raised both Elijah and Emma as his own children. The man who sacrificed his youthful years just to make sure Elijah and Emma were safe and loved.

Elijah had been very grateful to his uncle for the sacrifices he had made for both Elijah and Emma. He never got married. He hardly had any relationships when he was young. Everyone wanted Grey to abandon Elijah and Emma. But Grey never wanted it. Especially after his brother's death. "What made you say that? I am your mother. A mother cares about her children. No matter how far away she is." Grace replied to Elijah in a low and polite tone. As if she wanted Elijah to believe the rubbish she was throwing in his way.

Trash! It was trash for Elijah. Every single word she was saying, it meant nothing but trash yo Elijah. "Oh! Like I give a shit after everything. You can't fool me no more. There is no way. If you have ever cared, you wouldn't have left Emma crying in her crib." Elijah yelled at his mother angrily as he remembered the day when his mother left Emma in her crib to die.

Emma was a four month old baby. Elijah's father took Elijah for his first hunting trip. They went to forests to help Elijah understand the meaning of the animal inside him. Two days later, they received a call from Grey. He was in a hospital with Emma. He informed his brother that his beloved wife ran away, leaving the baby behind to die. Emma would have starved to death if Grey wouldn't have checked on her. "I did what I had to do. I was protecting myself." Grace yelled at Elijah defensively.

Of course, he practically challenged her. For years, Elijah's father believed that his wife was abducted. That she was a good mother and she would never leave her children. Elijah was old enough back then to witness it all with his own two eyes. "From what? There was no one in this world who could have touched a fucking hair on your head. And father, don't tell me he tried to harm you in any way. He was crazy for you." Elijah yelled back at his mother angrily.

It was getting out of his control. He feared Dean would do something Elijah didn't want to happen. Because after all, he promised his father to protect his mother forever. "You don't know what it was like to live with a man like your father. It was like I was living in a cage made of gold. It was filled with luxuries. But it was still a cage." Grace sat down on a couch and started yelling again at her son.

Elijah was running out of patience. As he heard her words, he could help but laugh at her. "That still doesn't defend you leaving your unprotected and helpless four months old baby girl, all alone in the apartment, all by herself." Elijah questioned his mother again.

Elijah always wanted answers to the questions he had in his mind. Why did his mother leave them? Why would she leave Emma to die? Why did she leave their father? A million questions but not one possible explanation for the disaster that ruined their lives. "Think whatever you want to think. I did whatever I could to protect myself." Grace growled at Elijah as she looked away.

For sure, she looked exactly like a thief. A person who had something to hide. "You are a bitch! Nothing else. Why the hell did you dishonour Artemis?" Elijah cursed at her mother then he asked her about her behaviour towards Artemis.

"You should teach your playthings some manners. She is no queen." Gritting her teeth in anger, Grace replied to Elijah. She disrespected Artemis yet again. That too, right in front of Elijah.

Elijah never wanted to be like his father when it came to the woman he would love. Elijah was not like him, Elijah was crazier. "That's the last time you have called her that. Next time, I will rip your fucking tongue out of your mouth." Elijah howled in warning at his mother. He was an inch away from crossing the line his father had drawn for him before he passed away.

Elijah was a moment away from ripping her heart out and finishing it off. He was a moment away from freeing the Wilson family from the curse named Grace. She was the only curse in their lives. He learned it the hardest way possible. "You dare talk like that to your mother. Don't forget that I carried you in my fucking belly for 9 months." Grace yelled at his son angrily as she heard him threatening to kill her.

Knowing the way Elijah was in his childhood, Grace knew well about his anger issues and the way his wolf worked. His wolf had killed the first time when they were just 9. That's when he had woken up his wolf. "Yeah! To make sure dad is wrapped around your fingers. Grandpa was absolutely right about you." Elijah growled at him in a pissed tone. Then he repeated his grandfather's words that he once heard.

"You jerk! How dare…" Grace yelled at Elijah but she couldn't complete her sentence. Elijah had interrupted her.

"You know what! I am going to ask you to leave. Leave my fucking pack. I will not ask you again." Elijah growled at her angrily. He didn't want to listen to Amy of the crap she was throwing in his way.

Dean had this feeling. Something that said, Grace was there to destroy everything that was left in their lives. And both Elijah and Dean didn't want that. Elijah had rebuilt everything from scratch. "You can't push me out. I am Luna of this pack." Grace yelled at Elijah, telling him her place in the pack.

Hearing her silly claims, Elijah burst into laughter. He held his stomach and launched as if someone was tickling him nonstop. "Let me correct you, you old hag. You lost that place the moment you walked out. Artemis is Luna of my pack. Leave! Before I lose control over Dean." Elijah corrected the mistake she was making. He showed her the place she had in their lives. Which was nothing at all.

He told her to leave. He didn't want to see her face again in his life. "That little toy of yours is Luna. I don't think so, sweetheart. That place belongs to me only." Grace yelled at Elijah angrily, telling him that she was Luna of the pack.

Elijah just turned around and waved his hand in dismissal. "Keep barking like a bitch. You can't change reality. The truth is that you were replaced about eight months ago." Elijah replied to her in a low tone, reminding her that she lost her place when she ran away.

"You are out of your mind." Grace yelled at Elijah angrily. But if it could actually affect him in any case.

Elijah turned back around and glared at his mother. "No! I am more conscious than dad ever was. He would have slit your throat if he was anywhere near the consciousness I possess." Elijah yelled back at his mother. He reminded her of reality. He reminded her of what he was getting so close to do to her.

Elijah was not sure why the Moon Goddess was testing him like this. He had prayed for years not to see his mother's face ever again. And yet, here she was. Ready to ruin their lives all over again. "I am not going to repeat myself. Leave while you still can. The only reason you are still breathing is because Artemis was here. I don't like to murder in front of her." Elijah yelled at his mother again. He wanted her gone.

Without waiting for her to speak more crap, Elijah turned around and started walking to get out of that place. He knew if he stayed in that place another moment, he was going to lose control over Dean. And Dean was so ready to eat that woman alive. So she would never come back to ruin their lives. Grace was yelling some nonsense at Elijah. But he covered his ears and walked away. He knew he had to see Artemis to calm down. He knew he had to hold her in his arms to calm Dean down.
