THIRD PERSON'S POV:-
Grey opened his eyes slowly. His whole body was aching. Groaning in pain, he looked around. He smelled something pungent around him. As if he was locked into a sewer. He didn't have a single piece of clothing on his body. His body had marks of torture. He was not awake but he knew someone had been torturing him continuously.
Two men entered, wearing masks. Those masks were to help them keep on breathing properly. "Finally! You are awake! I actually started to think if you were ever going to wake up." Grey heard one of those men talking to Grey.
The other one got towards Grey and unchained him. As if they were not even considering Grey's escape. As if they were confident that Grey couldn't leave. "Who the fuck are you?" Grey growled loudly at that man. The one who unchained Grey, walked back towards the entrance to the basement hall where Grey was locked up.
"Oh, me! My name is Don Casper. I am just someone who has big dreams. And to make those dreams come true, I can do anything." That man introduced himself as a Don. Grey had once heard that name years ago. It was the time when his brother was alive. Because his brother was too strong, Grey never got to meet or know anything about Don. Elijah's father took care of the Don and his platoon all by himself.
After that day, no one ever talked about that Don. The don's name back then was Don Carter. Grey knew that he was looking at someone else. "What do you want from me? Why are you here?" Grey growled at Don Casper angrily, demanding to know the reason why the mafia was back to New York.
Don Carter started laughing hysterically as he heard Grey's demanding tone. Shaking his head, the Don turned his gaze towards Grey. "Is it not obvious by now? I am here to take over this pack. I am back to avenge my father." Don Casper replied to Grey in a low tone.
He sounded angry and yet, he was trying to control his anger. Hearing him, Grey started laughing hysterically. If only Don Casper knew, Elijah was more dangerous than his own father. "Did you actually think Elijah would let you do it so easily? He will kill you all. And if anything happens to me, he will torture you for years." Grey spoke in a low tone. He laid back down on the ground. He placed his right leg on his left knee. He was shaking his foot while grinning mischievously.
The reason why Elijah's pack was safe was because Elijah was smarter and sharper than his own father. He never let any emotions control his thoughts or his decisions. That's what made Grey breathe. "Hmmm… that's what I thought. I thought a lot about your nephew. He is stronger than your brother ever was." Don Casper replied to Grey in a low tone.
It was a bit shocking for Grey to believe that he actually knew the facts before he came to the pack. It surely looked like he was back to take revenge for whatever Grey's brother did to Don Casper's father. Something made Grey believe that Don Carter and Don Casper were connected. "But then again, even Lucifer had a weakness. So does your nephew. I just needed to find that weakness." Don Casper added in a low tone.
Grey stopped shaking his foot. He stopped taunting the Don that very moment when he talked about Elijah's weakness. "Your nephew has a weakness that makes him both strong and weak. Depending on the circumstances. Do you know who your nephew's weakness is?" Don Casper added further, forcing Grey to sit back up and look at the Don.
The mischievous grin on Grey's face was wiped off. He had this concerned look on his face. "By the look on your face, I can say that you know exactly who I am talking about." Don Casper said as he noticed the horrified look on Grey's face. It was obvious whom the Don was talking about. There was only one person who had any powers over Elijah.
It was obvious that Don Casper was talking about Artemis. That's when Grey remembered how Artemis was able to get rid of half of the wild wolf pack on her own. "You wouldn't be able to get any closer to her. She is smarter than you can ever imagine." Grey spoke in a low tone.
Grey couldn't see it but Don Casper gritted his teeth as he heard Grey. That was the very error in the plan Don Casper came up with to take over the pack. Artemis was the only error that could become the reason for his failure. "Smart or not! Once she is captured, Elijah will come crawling towards us. Begging to let her live in exchange for these lands." Don Casper added in a low tone. He couldn't let Grey know that Artemis was somewhat a concerning person for Don Casper.
"I will not let you touch her!" Gritting his teeth in anger, Grey yelled at Don Casper.
Don Casper started laughing. One thing he wanted to confirm, if Artemis was Elijah's weakness. Grey didn't know much but he just confirmed it to Don. "Well, you should worry about yourself. You will remain locked in here for a while. I will keep you alive." Don Casper added in a low tone.
Don Casper had gotten what he wanted from Grey. Now he was supposed to keep Grey believing that Grey was going to die along with the rest of the pack. "Until your pack is here, I will not kill you. I will let you meet your pack one last time. Then I will kill you." Don Casper added further.
Grey gritted his teeth as he knew Don Casper was going to try something to get his hands on Artemis. "Until they are here, enjoy those rats you can find in these sewers. Because I will not be giving you anything to eat or drink. Enjoy your stay." Don Casper spoke in a low tone as he stepped out of the hall. Grey was left behind. He was growling loudly while he was trying to figure out if there was a way for him to get out.
Don Casper walked out of the place where Grey was locked. He pulled his mask off of his face and handed it to one of the men working for him. "Phew! That was something. Boys! Keep your eyes open. We can afford to let him run away. He is our key to take over this pack." He spoke in a low tone then he ordered his men to keep an eye on Grey.
He couldn't let Grey escape. To Don Casper, Grey was worth more than Elijah. Grey had one of the retest kinds of wolves. "Yes, boss!" His men replied and walked away.
Humming his favourite song, Don Casper walked into the kitchen. Before he was told that Grey had woken up, he was busy cooking dinner for himself. Don Casper entered the kitchen. He wrapped the apron around his waist and began chopping the vegetables for his salad. "Did you get anything? Did he tell you anything?" Grace came from behind and asked Don Casper.
Don Casper rolled his eyes in annoyance as he heard Grace's question. "No! I didn't ask him anything about her." Don Casper replied to Grace in an annoyed tone.
He wanted to be left alone whenever he was cooking dinner for himself. "Why did you not ask him anything about her? Elijah tells him everything. He must know something." Grace almost yelled at Don Casper. Don Casper turned his head towards Grace and glared at her for raising her voice at him.
She narrowed her head and submitted to him quickly. She couldn't mess up with him. "I didn't ask because it's your job to find out what her abilities are. In fact, I told him what I was plotting to do with his pack and the members of his pack." Don Casper replied to the question Grace asked him after she submitted to him.
Grace's eyes went wide as she heard Don Casper. She was terrified of the fact that her son felt ten times stronger than his father. And Grey was his guide since the beginning. That's why she wanted Grey out of the picture in the first place. "What did you do? Don't you know the Wilsons? You will be dead before you will be able to see your plan pulling apart." Grace questioned Don Casper. She couldn't help herself at that moment.
"Relax, Grace! You worry too much. I have everything measured up perfectly. You just keep on doing your job. Leave the rest to me." Don Casper replied to Grace as he was mixing his salad.
His words were not enough to make Grace relax. She wanted that pack. That's why she married Elijah's father. That's the only reason why she conceived Elijah. "So, there is nothing more I need to do. I just have to spy on the pack and especially on Elijah?" Grace asked Don Casper in a calmed tone. There was nothing she could do if Don Casper had decided something.
"Yes! That's all, Honey. I will take care of the rest." Don Casper replied in a low tone while rolling his eyes again.
"I still think you shouldn't give anymore information to Grey. He is one sick bastard who I couldn't control all those years." Grace spoke in a low tone. Grey was one person she was unable to read or control. In fact, he was the reason she couldn't take over the pack back then.
"I know! You are not smart enough to get to him that easily. Now get out of my face before I drag you to the pantry to slice you up as well. I like roasted human legs more than chicken or turkey." Don Casper replied to Grace in a calmed tone. Then he calmly threatened to kill her. Grace's eyes went wide as she heard Don Casper's threat. She bowed her head in front of Don Casper and ran away. She knew well that Don Casper loved the sweet human meat more. Don Casper sighed in relief as he was left alone. He started humming that song again as he got busy marinating the chicken for dinner.
