THIRD PERSON'S POV:-
Tracy got out of the tunnels in time. She hid behind the cars so she wouldn't be spotted by Grace. As she was still holding the lavender bouquet in her mouth along with the gown Lily had given her, Grace was not able to catch her scent at all. She only felt like it was her own scent that she was catching. Since she was the only one who had to wear lavender essences to hide the pungent scent a wild wolf had.
Once Grace was gone, Tracy got out. She shifted back into Artemis. Artemis wore the gown and made her way to her mother's home to get dressed. She quickly slipped into a hoodie and leggings. Once she was dressed, Artemis jumped out of the window of her bedroom.
While changing her clothes, Artemis was thinking about all the pack members m someone who had the authority after Elijah. And a person who could be powerful enough to fight with Artemis with those mafia guards. There was no one better Daniel to do the job. That's why she decided to look for Daniel. Artemis looked at his place then in Elijah's building. Daniel was not around.
She finally made her way towards Grey's apartment to look for Daniel. Daniel was still in charge of looking after Grey's apartment. Artemis was about to grab the door knob of Grey's apartment when the door suddenly opened and Daniel stepped out. "Oh my God! I found you! There you are. I need your help!" Artemis spoke in a low tone as she looked at Daniel.
Daniel looked around then he pulled Artemis inside the apartment. Elijah had strictly asked Daniel to make sure Artemis wouldn't go anywhere near Grey's apartment. It was a little shocking for Daniel since Elijah never forced Artemis to do anything. And he never forbade her for anything as well. "Artemis! What are you doing here? What is it? You look like a mess. Is everything alright?" Daniel asked Artemis in a concerned tone. He looked at her from head to toe.
Artemis looked like she was wearing clean clothes but her face had dark stains. As if she was somewhere messy. "Yes, I am fine! I mean, everything will be alright. But forget about me. I need your help." Artemis replied to Daniel then asked for his help again.
Daniel was the perfect person. He held power and Artemis wouldn't be scolded for disobeying Elijah because Daniel would be with her. "Tell me what is it? You need to tell me about this problem you have if you really want my help." Daniel asked Artemis in a concerned tone. Artemis looked like she was concerned about something. And Daniel knew that there were not many things that could concern Artemis.
Artemis suddenly smiled widely. She was able to smile as she heard Daniel questioning her. "I have found Uncle Grey. But I need someone's help to get him out of that place. You are the only one who can help me and Uncle Grey." Artemis told Daniel why she had been looking for him. Why did she need his help?
A confused look appeared on Daniel's face as he heard Artemis. It could have been impossible. Since he was informed differently. "Wait! What? What are you talking about, Artemis? Alpha Elijah said that he was on vacation." Daniel asked Artemis in a confused tone while staring at Artemis' face.
He was just thinking about Elijah's announcement about his uncle's disappearace. He had seen that letter. Daniel had some questions about that letter. It looked like Grey's handwriting but of course, it just didn't feel like Grey to write a letter. "No! He is not. He was abducted. He was about to go with Ryan. He couldn't have gone alone." Artemis replied to Daniel in a low tone.
It was true that Artemis had not seen Grey with her own eyes. But the determination she had seen in Grace's eyes, Artemis knew that Grey was inside that place into the tunnels. Artemis told Daniel about the relationship between Ryan and Grey. She had to Helo him. Since she was the only one who knew about their relationship. "Woah! That makes sense why Ryan has been a mess as well." Daniel replied in a surprised tone as he heard the news about the relationship between Ryan and Grey.
Artemis was actually jumping because she knew they didn't have much time. She heard the guards loud and clear. They had to hurry. "Forget about Ryan! We don't have much time. We have to go back now. It's our only chance to save Uncle Grey. That place is not as protected for now as it will be within two days." Artemis growled angrily at Daniel. She was losing patience.
"No! We need to tell Alpha Elijah. He will help.." Daniel spoke in a low tone. He suggested to inform Elijah first. As the Beta of the pack, it was his responsibility to inform the Alpha.
"No! We can't tell him. He wouldn't believe us because his mother is involved in Uncle Grey's disappearance. And even of he believed us, the meetings and discussions are going to take time. Grace would learn about our scheme and Uncle Grey will die. We can't afford to make mistake here anymore." Artemis tried to reason with Daniel. She had this feeling that they couldn't underestimate their enemy.
Hearing Artemis, Daniel sighed. He was aware of the tension Artemis and Grace had between them. "Artemis! I know you don't like her one bit. I don't like her either. But we have to respect her because she is our Luna." Daniel tried to talk to Artemis.
Hearing Daniel, Artemis growled loudly in annoyance. It was not against Grace. She was doing everything to keep the promise she had made to Ryan. "Fuck that bitch! You know Daniel, I don't lie. And I certainly don't have to lie about her." Artemis yelled at Daniel angrily as she couldn't control her anger anymore.
Artemis took a deep breath to calm herself down. Yelling at anyone was never going to solve the very problem that made her come to Daniel. Things were very easy for her when Elijah was on her side. "She has been lying to us all and only Uncle Grey can tell us all the truth. Please! I need your help. It's mafias we are talking about. I can't fight them on my own." Artemis calmly told Daniel the reason she couldn't afford to tell Elijah everything that she had found out.
She was concerned that if Elijah would try to confront Grace, she would ha e Grey killed so there would be nothing between her and her evil ambitions. "Alright, fine! Lead the way. But if Elijah asked me why I went against his words…" Daniel spoke in a low tone. But of course, he didn't want to be held responsible for that.
Artemis knew about it. It was only Artemis who could even think about going against Elijah's will. The others were terrified of him. "I am responsible. I will take full responsibility. But please, hurry! We don't have much time." Artemis replied to Daniel in a low tone. Knowing well that it was the only way to save Grey from the mafia. She had to do whatever she could to save Grey. Daniel nodded his head as it was something he wanted to hear from Artemis. They both stepped out of Grey's apartment and made their way towards that secret passage that building had, that led towards the tunnels.
---------------------------------------------------------
Daniel was following Artemis. He was staring at his surroundings. He had never seen or heard about those tunnels before in his life. "It's just a little further ahead! I marked that place. Just trust me." Artemis whispered as they proceeded towards that understand house Artemis had discovered. They both had lavender flowers tucked in their pockets as it was a way for them to get to that house without being discovered.
Artemis was grateful that Lily made sure to give her those flowers. They were helpful for them to keep their scents hidden from the mafias. Daniel nodded his head as he heard Artemis. "How do you even know about this place? No one knows if it exists." Daniel asked Artemis in a curious tone while he was looking around the place.
Artemis had never told anyone how she discovered that place. She discovered that place while she was looking for Grey. But she knew about it a month later she was accepted in the pack. "While looking for Uncle Grey, I discovered these tunnels. Only alpha Adam knew about these tunnels. Elijah doesn't know anything about them either." Artemis replied to Daniel in a low tone as she kept walking in the direction of that underground house.
"Then how do you know about them?" Daniel asked Artemis in a curious tone as she told him that even Elijah was not aware of that place.
"As I said before, I discovered it while looking for Uncle Grey. I followed a scent from Uncle Grey's apartment to these tunnels. When I lost all trails, I began searching for answers in the tunnels." Artemis calmly replied to Daniel. Since it was taking time for them to get to that place. They could rush up or they could get caught. They had no backups planned.
"I got to the other end. It led towards this mysterious forest. But that's not all. When I was coming back home, I sensed Grace in the tunnels. While Elijah said no one knew about them. Not even Uncle Grey." Looking around the place, Artemis added further.
Tracy had left a trail for Artemis to follow so they could rescue Uncle Grey. There was no one way to get to that placem of was like a maze within those tunnels. Artemis and Daniel stopped behind a wall. "That's why I followed Grace today. She led me to this place. I heard those guards talking about selling uncle Grey to a devil as a slave. That's why I told you that we have to hurry." Artemis replied as she looked at the entrance of that house.
Daniel looked at the entrance as well. They both nodded their heads and partially shifted into their wolves. Artemis and Daniel were fast. "Intru…" the guards standing in front of the gate tried to warn the others but Artemis ripped his throat out before he could finish.
Artemis opened the gates and Daniel stepped inside. He jumped on the two guards he saw standing. Artemis followed him behind. She launched at the tree other guards. She was able to rip the heart out of one of the guards. The other two attacked her together. One of them grabbed Artemis from behind. The other one was punching her stomach. Artemis kicked the balls of the guard punching her. She crawled the back of the neck if the guard who was holding her. He let go of her as he fell on the ground. Artemis ripped his head off of his body.
Artemis grabbed the neck of the other one and pulled him up. "That's it! Die!" Tracy growled angrily at the guard and broke all his bones in his neck. The last guard died and Artemis threw him on the ground.
Artemis turned around and Daniel walked towards her. "Where to now?" Daniel asked in a low tone while looking around.
"I don't know. There are not many people around here. I guess they were pretty over confident." Artemis replied as Tracy was trying to sniff the air to find Grey.
"Let's just follow this only way that leads towards another end to these tunnels." Artemis said as she started walking towards the way that led them deeper into the ground.
They found prisons under that house. Most of them were empty but the others had prisoners inside. Tracy broke the locks of all the jail cells and freed all the prisoners. She reached the last one. She broke the lock and stepped inside. "Oh my God! Uncle Grey! We finally found you." Artemis called as she walked towards Grey.
Grey opened his eyes as he heard Artemis. He was surprised to see her. "Artemis! What are you doing here? How did you even find me?" Grey asked Artemis in a surprised tone as he could understand how Artemis could find him.
"Maybe your brother was worried about his family and his pack. That's why, he left clues about this place and the tunnels in his diaries. Lucky for you, I read them all." Grinning mischievously, Artemis replied to Grey as she broke all the chains that were holding him with the ground.
"You read my brother's diaries. I am impressed." Uncle Grey spoke in a surprised tone. No one was even allowed to look at those shelves that belonged to Alpha Adam.
"Let's praise me later. We need to get you out of here. Because Grace or Don learn about this break in." Artemis added in a low tone as she was worried about Grey and the others. She couldn't afford to fail that mission.
