CHAPTER EIGHTEEN.

"Alex!" Achilles called in pure horror once Alex stepped into the living room with Bella curled up in his arms, asleep. She had falled asleep on the way. Achilles rushed over to them. He was not only thunderstruck see his brother Alex out of the blue, he was even more shocked to see Bella in his arms.

He was mystified on how they met each other or where or why? Alex had never seen Bella before, so how did he know she was the one. He had so many questions jangling on his kind that if he didn't get answers the next minute, he would die of turmoil of frustration.

  "Show me to her room"

"It's fine, I can take her from here" He stretched his hands forward to take Bella, but the scowl he got from Alex made him step back in tear.

He was the Alpha, but Achilles was his elder brother and he still respected him a great deal.

"This way" He indicated in defeat as he lead the way into Bella's bedroom. Once in the bedroom, Alex carefully placed Bella on the bed and covered her up with the duvet so she could sleep peacefully. He then placed a soft kiss on her forehead and Achilles gulped dryly, out of jealousy.

He didn't like what Alex just did.

"Where did you see her?" He asks the moment Alex pivoted to face him. Alex heaved out a heavy sigh as he took a few steps closer to him. Out of nowhere, Alex grabbed him my his collar and gave him a hard punch on his face that caused his nose to bleed. Another hard punch followed before he was thrown against the wall.

"What the hell! What was that for?" Achilles asked, infuriated.

"How dare you!" Alex interrogated with a deadly snare. Achilles could see his eyes turning yellow and that only happened when he was extremely upset! In that enraged state, he knew Alex could have him beaten to pulp without breaking a sweat. He was after all, the first born.

"Alex… you have to calm down" He tried to persuade Alex.

"This girl is carrying your child and you let her roam about in the woods at night. Do you know she almost got killed by rogues?" Alex asked in a deadly tone and there was instant adrenaline rush all over Achilles' body. He gave Bella a quick glance before turning to look at Alex again.

"I swear I had no idea she was out there" He defended.

"That's because you obviously care less about her. You only ever care about yourself, you selfish prick!" Alex affirmed as he charged towards Achilles once more.

Achilles stood up tall and prepared himself for the beating that was going to dawn on him at that moment. He had struck the wrong nerve nerve in Alex!

"What is going on here?" A femine voice asked from the door and Alex immediately recognized the voice and turned to look. His temper died down once he saw his sister, Diana, and his eyes returned to their usual brown color. He gave Achilles one last arduous scowl before walking over to Diana.

"Princess" He called as he seized her into his arms.

  "Alex I'm glad you came"

"I couldn't stay another day after hearing all that you said. I had to come right away!" He explained as he released her from his hug.

Diana took a step backwards and examined her two brothers. She noticed that Achilles' nose was bleeding and Alex looked very enraged.

"What .. what's going on? Why is Achilles bleeding"

"Because I hit him!" Alex owned up.

"One minute you're back and you guys are already fighting?" Diana asks in resentment.

"That's because he's being a nonchalant fool. I found Bella in the woods a while ago, almost about to get riped apart by rogues. She would've been kiiled if I wasn't there to fight off those rogues" Alex explained admist short, heavy breaths. His heart was beating hard in his chest and anger boiling in his veins.

Achilles' indifference was something he had always despised.

"I had no idea Bella was out there in the woods" Achilles defended as he wiped off the blood oozing from his nostrils. Do you honestly think I would have let her go out there by herself?" He asks raising his voice as well. He hated the fact that his brother was accusing him of something he was innocent of.

"Well I think you can, especially since you don't like her!" Alex added.

"Alex you just got here, you have idea how this all began so you can't just go about saying things you know nothing about" Achilles cried.

"Stop it, both of you. Just stop this argument. You two are so loud you could wake the dead. There is no need arguing over something so petty" Diana reprimanded and that got Alex even more disgruntled.

"Petty?" Alex interrogated. "Did you just say petty? This is not a petty issue. This moron needs to learn to take responsibility for his actions when need be"

"Responsibility? Look who's talking about responsibility! If you knew how got to do that so we'll, you wouldn't relinquish your rights as Alpha to me and scamper off like a rodent. You are just as irresponsible as I am, even more!" Achilles fired back and the room fell in dead silence.

Alex stood still on the spot and gritted his teeth, not in anger, but in guilt. Achilles was right. He had no right to talk about responsibility after what he had done.

Diana stood between her two brothers, tired as hell. It hadn't been up to an hour since they united again and they were already disputing. How were they supposed to fight and win a war when they couldn't even stand each other?

"Seriously guys?' she asked looking from Achilles to Alex. "Are we really doing this right now? We have a battle to fight, a pregnant girl to protect and here you are, fighting like highschool boys. Don't you two ever get tired of stepping on each other's nerves?" She questioned with raspy voice.

"Princess don't cry."Alex cautioned as he walked over to Diana but she stepped away from him and began to sob.

"You guys are always on each other's throats even after knowing how much it hurts me to see that. I want you to apologize to each other right away!" She instructed and both brothers exchanged scornful looks. "Now!" Diana pursued and Alex walked over to Achilles.

He was still angry at Achilles for neglecting Bella, but for the sake of peace, he needed to apologize for judging him.

"I'm not sorry for hitting you, because you deserved it. Henceforth, you should pay close attention to the woman carrying your child. You owe it to her to protect her and make sure she is safe. Do that and I will never have to hit you again." He admonished with a firm tone and Achilles nodded his head like an obedient son.

  "Understood"

"Good! And I'm sorry for judging your sense of responsibility. I had no right to do that"

"It's fine. I provoked you to go to that extend." Achilles said as he hugged his elder brother.

Diana smiled and wiped her dramatic tears away as the two brother's hugged each other. That gesture brought so much joy in her heart.

"Now, can we leave the pregnant woman sleep in peace?" Diana questioned and that's when the guys realized they had been querreling in Bella's bedroom all along.

"I am such a bad father!" Achilles lamented as he walked out of the bedroom with his siblings following closely behind.

"Alex, you should go and have some rest in your chamber. We will talk tomorrow morning" Diana instructed.

"Sure" He agreed as he suddenly stopped on his tracks and began sniffing his body. Both Diana and Achilles looked at him confused about what was going on with him.

"What's wrong?" Achilles asked concerned and Alex turned to look at them with a bewildered expression on his face and replied…

  "I smell like like pregnancy!"
