Meanwhile, at the Crescent moon pack, things didn't seem to be going too well. The Alpha, Alpha D'argan had taken I'll and the entire was in total commotion, especially as he wasn't getting any better.
The subjects were scared because it was known all round that he was immortal and that nothing could make him sick. They were afraid that if he died, their enemy pack, the Wall Street Pack, would attack them to get their revenge and that would not be too good.
"My Lord, if you do not take your medicine, you won't get better" The Luna of the pack, Luna Elvira cautioned, but the deranged Alpha angrily smacked her hand away, causing the drugs to fall to the ground.
He knew his problem wasn't something medicine could solve. It was beyond ordinary and he needed someone beyond ordinary to interpret what's going on with him.
"My Lord!" Luna Elvira screamed.
"I do not want to take these medicine because they will not remedy this situation!" He screamed, causing his Luna to tremble and take a step away from him. She knew her Alpha to be a brutal man and if she stood anywhere close to him at the moment, she would be getting a very merciless smack from him.
The last thing he did was treat her well.
"I'm sorry my Lord" She apologized as she calmly took the tray of medicine away. Alpha D'argan huffed in anger the moment the door closed behind her.
He was restless and impatient. Since that year began, he had been having nightmares about his downfall, about his death. At first, he didn't take them seriously, but as the days went by, the nightmares became worse and at the moment he had fallen ill. He had no idea why all that was happening to him, but he could feel that it had something to do with the Wall street pack.
Fifteen years ago, he ambushed the pack with his soldiers and killed almost every adult in the pack, including their Alpha. He even made their witch place a curse of infertility upon all their She-wolves and also a curse to make them lose the ability to detect their mates.
After that massacre, the subjects of the wall street pack suffered as they tried to rebuild their pack. Even at that moment, they were doing fine, but they were not even half as wealthy and influential as they used to be. That was what he wanted and he got it, but then, he didn't understand why he had suddenly fallen sick.
The only person who could explain to him what was going on, was a sorcerer, who lived far away. It was the same sorcerer who had assisted him in getting the power he had at the moment. So he had sent for him to come explain what was happening and of course, give a solution to the crises.
He was not ready to die just yet. He still had centuries to rule over the world of werewolves.
"Alpha D'argan" His Beta, Levi, called as he walked into the Alpha's bedroom. Alpha D'argan sat up from his bed and looked at his Beta, praying in his heart that he had come with good news.
"Yes, Levi, what brings you here?"
"The sorcerer , Alpha. The sorcerer you sent for has arrived and is waiting for you in the living room"
"Bless the moon goddess!" Alpha D'argan blessed and a hysterical chuckle followed his words. He immediately stepped down from his bed and put on his shoes, ready to go and meet the sorcerer.
"Take me to him"
"Of course, Alpha '' The two men exited the bedroom and headed straight for the living room which was located downstairs. Once they got there, the sorcerer, who was comfortably seated on one of the sofas, arose from his seat and stepped forward to greet the almighty Alpha.
"Accept warm greetings, Alpha D'argan"
"Thank you very much Calum, you may take your seat" Alpha D'argan offered and the Soccerer returned to his seat.
Once they were both seated, the Beta exited the living room to give the two men privacy to discuss whatever it was they wanted to discuss.
"I took off the moment I saw your letter. How are you feeling right now?"
"Not good, not good at all. I mean, the sickness isn't that bad, but psychologically, I feel like something bad is going to happen to me. I am immortal. I am not supposed to get sick and the nightmares I've been having scare me to the core"
"Speaking of nightmares, what have they been about? If I may?" The sorcerer asked, giving him a critical look and Alpha D'argan heaved out a heavy sigh of frustration as he rubbed his forehead with his fingers.
Those nightmares have been terrifying and thinking of them at the moment made him feel nauseated.
"The nightmares are about my doom. Every Night, I dream of me dying or my pack being taken away from me. They always feel so real and I wake up panting and sweating like I was being chased. I can feel it in my gut, something's coming. Something big is coming!" He lamented and the sorcerer gave him a long look before nodding his head.
"Yes, you are right, something is coming. The nightmares, the sickness, these things are not supposed to be happening to you. If they are, that means something is definitely about to happen." the Sorcerer explained and Alpha D'argan felt fear rising in his heart.
The reality of what the sorcerer had just explained was not something he could deal with at the moment. He had ruled for just fifteen years and having a war to fight was too soon!
"Have … have… you…" He stuttered nervously. "Do you know what this thing is? What is it about? What exactly is this thing that's on the way?" He asked worriedly.
"When I received your text, I tried to consult the ancestors, but they refused to show me anything reasonable. In my vision, the only thing I could see was a pregnant She-wolf. I don't know from which pack she hails from, but I feel like that child she is carrying has a lot to play in this"
"A pregnant She-wolf, a Child!" he repeated in disbelief. "What can a child do to me? This is outrageous!"
"You never know, Alpha. The moon goddess has her ways."
"If that is the case then I will send my men to evade every pack and have every pregnant She-wolf killed. I cannot afford to lose all that I have because of a child. That will be blasphemous!" He cried.
"You will do no such thing. Remember the laws, the moment you stage such an act, you will be struck to death! You cannot do that!"
"I can't just sit here and do nothing! I am getting sick, I am dying, my story doesn't end like this. I have to do something!" He lamented in pure frustration.
Everything the sorcerer had just told him was confusing and overwhelming and he had no idea how to go about it. He needed to do something to redeem himself and his pack as a whole.
"Alpha D'argan. I helped you get to this level. I gave you the power to defeat the strongest Alpha and you made his pack miserable fifteen years ago. You have been on the top for the past years and no one has been able to bring you down."
"I know that… but right now, there is a possibility that someone will and that scares me. That scares me to the core!" He cried.
"What I need you to do right no is sit down and listen to me"
"I'm calm. I'm calm" Alpha D'argan assured him as he lowered himself to his seat once more.
"Good. I just said I saw a pregnant She-wolf in my vision, we have no idea which pack she is in, but … we have to find her?"
"How are we going to do that?'
"Magic! Magic can do anything. We will need to start from the neighboring packs"
"The Wall street pack is out of this. All their she-wolves are barren. There has not been a single offspring born for the past fifteen years" Alpha D'argan explained and the soccerer quickly shook his head.
"You can never be so sure, Alpha D'argan. Nothing is impossible for the moon goddess to do."
"But they are barren!"
"Yes, they are and that is all the more reason why my revelation makes sense. They are all barren, so what if mysteriously, one has conceived. Don't you think that's a problem?" he asked and Alpha D'argan leaned against his chair and went into deep thought.
What Calum just said made a lot of sense. His war was with the Wall Street Pack. They were the ones he slaughtered and made miserable. If his destiny was tied to a pregnant She-wolf, then that She-wolf had to be from the wall street pack.
"You are right!"
This isn't really certain, but to confirm our doubts, we will need to send them a message, claiming that we know about the pregnant She-wolf. Their reaction will confirm our doubts." Calum explained and Alpha D'argan gave him a critical look.
"That would be difficult!"
"What do you mean?"
"For some time now, I have been sending my men to go cause trouble in the pack, but they seem to be unable to cross their boundary. There's a boundary spell protecting them from me and my men. Their witch must have somehow casted that spell before she died" He explained.
"That will not be a problem, with time, I will figure out how to break the spell. For now, I will need to magically send the letter."
"Calum, I don't know how much I can thank you for this"
"You do not have to thank me. We are have been good friends for a long time now and it is my duty to help you in such situations"
"I have one request to make," Alpha D'argan proposed.
"What's that?"
"Stay here until all of this is over. I promise to give you the best royal treatment you could ever wish for. Woman at your disposal, fine wine and banquet meals. All I ask is for you to stay here and help me with this quest of mine"
"Request granted!" Calum replied with a smile and Alpha D'argan let out a hysterical chuckle as he thanked him.
He knew with Levi by his side, he would win every war that was on the way.
His plan was to locate the pregnant She-wolf and once he found her, he would kill her and the unborn child to end everything.
If only he knew …
