Tony was on patrol that morning when he noticed the smell of two strange men at the borders. When he went to check, he noticed it was two soldiers from the Black Wood Pack and when he asked them what they wanted, they told him they had a message for Achilles, from Alpha D'argan.
Tony was hesitant at first to bring them to Achilles, but after he spoke with Diana through mindlink and she accepted, he led them to Achilles' chambers.
Achilles, who was still in bed with Bella, grumbled angrily when Diana told him soldiers from the Black Wood pack had come to see him. He did not want to wake up just yet. He and Bella had made love all night and he was hoping to continue that morning, but his plans had been ruined.
"Fuck!" He cursed silently as he got down from the bed.
"Where are you going?" Bella asked sleepily and he turned around to face her.
"Diana said there are some soldiers from the Black Wood Pack waiting for me downstairs. They claim to have some important news from Alpha D'argan" At the mention of the name Alpha D'argan, Bella's sleep dried up in her eyes and she sat upright on the bed.
"Alpha D'argan?" She asked frightened and Achilles leaned closer to her.
"You don't have to be frightened, love, they are not going to take you. I promise" He promised as he kissed her forehead. "Besides, they are only here to pass some information from Alpha D'argan since he cannot come here himself. I promise to let you know what it is the moment I find out."
"Okay"
"Good" He sat up from the bed and walked into the closet where he lazily put on his underwear, a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt.
He wanted to go downstairs and listen to what ever the soldier had to say and return to Bella.
"Is it going to take long?" Bella asked once he got into the bedroom.
"No, it's not. You stay in bed, I'll be right back. We'll do this all day" He said with a cocky smirk and Bella blushed hard. He blow her a kiss in the air and walked out of the bedroom.
As he descended the staircase, he could already perceive the strange smell from the soldiers and he prepared himself for the news that was about to reach his ears.
His siblings, Diana and Alex were already present in the living and he was happy, but kept a straight face. The last thing he ever did was smile in the presence of potential enemies.
"Alpha Achilles" Both soldiers addressed in unison as he stepped into the living room.
He stood on his spot and shoved both hands in his trouser pockets as he gave them both very critical looks. They were indeed members of the Black Wood Pack and the way they looked nervous made him understand that his presence intimidated them. Just the way he wanted it to be.
"You do know that it's six am in the morning, don't you?" He asked coldly and the two men looked up at him.
"Yes, we do" one of them replied.
"And what is that important thing you have to say that could not wait until later in the day, you just had to come at this time and ruin my perfect morning?" He asked annoyed.
Both Diana and Alex were a bit confused.
"Well… Alpha Achilles. We did not come here on our own accord. We come bearing news from Alpha D'argan"
"Speak up and be on your way already" He old them in an irritated tone.
"Alpha D'argan said to tell you you have two weeks to deliver his daughter at his castle, else he's going to wage a war on your pack '' One of the soldiers announced.
Achilles and his siblings exchanged perplexed looks as they tried to figure out what the guard just spoke about.
"What daughter? What do you mean by his daughter ? Alpha D'argan doesn't have a daughter and most importantly she's not with us!" Achilles explained.
"The pregnant Shewolf is his daughter." The guard announced and all three of them were paralyzed with shock.
Achilles shot his eyes wide open as he took an unconscious step backwards. He took out his left hand from his trouser pocket and wiped off the bead of sweat that had trickled down his temple.
His heart was actually threatening to hop out of his chest at that moment.
"What?" He finally asked in shock.
"The pregnant Shewolf, the one carrying your child is Alpha D'argan's daughter." The soldier repeated and Achilles' mind went into total disarray.
He was speechless at that moment so he just turned around and walked away from the soldiers.
Diana understood what her brother was going through and decided to step in to reply to the guards.
"You tell Alpha D'argan that we have heard the news and will report to him when we have areply to his request. You may leave" She ordered and immediately, the guards exited the living room.
The three siblings stood at different corners of the living room, each one of them thinking critically about the revelation.
Bella was Alpha D'argan's daughter.
Everything made sense to Diana.
They had always speculated that there was something that connected Bella to Alpha D'argan for her to be able to bear a child that would bring about his downfall. When they found out that she originated from the Crescent Moon Pack, they thought that was the connection, but what the guards just told them connected the dots even better.
The birth of the child Bella was carrying was bale to bring the about the downfall of the tyrant king because they were related.
Because he was his daughter and because he failed her as a father!
"It all makes sense now" She finally spoke out and her brothers turned to face her.
"Please don't tell me you believe those idiots" Alex pleaded and Diana looked at him confused.
"It's not like there's nothing to not believe. It's evident that what they said is true. It all connects way better right now"
"There is no connection. Have you forgotten who Alpha D'argan is? He is a scheming bastard and he will come up with anything just to get to us. Bella is definitely not his daughter, he is lying!" Alex denied flatly.
"And I think you are wrong!" Diana contradicted. "Remember we wondered what possible connection she could have with Alpha D'argan to be able to affect him that much…"
"And we found that connection. We found out that she was a member of the Crescent Moon Pack!"
"That fact only explains why she was able to conceive. That only explains the part where the curse of infertility did not work on her because she has Crescent Moon blood flowing it her veins. That doesn't explain why the birth of her child is able to kill the tyrant Alpha, this fact does!" Diana explained firmly and Alex rolled his eyes so hard that his eyes balls almost went up onto his brain.
He wasn't getting it at all.
He did not want to believe that Bella was related to the man who had brought the downfall of their entire pack.
"Will you two stop arguing?" Achilles spoke out in a gentle voice as he turned to face them. "Sit down, both of you" He commanded. "Now!" He roared when he sensed their hesitation and immediately, they both made themselves comfortable on separate couches.
Diana was eager to listen to what her brother had to say, but Alex was grumbling like a child who had been given very little food to eat.
He woke up that moment on a very bad side because Bella had left him at night just to go and spend the night with Achilles. He saw when the she woke up, but had decided to pretend to be fast asleep so as not to make things awkward. Just looking at his brother at moment made him want to bite his head off.
"Alex, I know this is hard to take, but Alpha D'argan is not lying. Bella is his daughter!"
"No, I'm not!" A voice denied firmly from above and that got their attention. They all looked up abd saw Bella descending the staircase.
"Bella…" Achilles called as he walked over to the staircase to meet her.
"What are you doing here?" He asked calmly as she stepped into the living room.
"I couldn't bring myself to stay there after you told me there was news from Alpha D'argan, please tell me it's not true. Please tell me I'm not the daughter of that tyrant." She pleaded in tears abyd Achilles just took her into his arms.
"It doesn't change anything" He assured her as he led her to a couch where he put her to sit.
Alex looked at them in pain as he swallowed the needles in his throat. Diana notice the tension in the living room and became very uncomfortable.
She had mixed feelings.
She was happy that Achilles and Bella were together, but she was sad that Alex was hurting because of their union. She was also afraid of what would happen if he insisted on getting Bella for himself.
"So…" Achilles' voice interrupted her thoughts. " As I was saying, Alpha D'argan is not lying. Bella is indeed his daughter"
"And how is that possible?" Alex asked, still not convinced.
"Remember I told you guys what Mr. Donovan explained to me. Bella's mother used to be a servant at Alpha D'argan's castle and it should not be strange to you that that moron has no respect for women. He definitely slept with Bella's mother and that's how she got pregnant with Bella before she escaped from the pack. Does that make sense to you now?" He asked, looking straight into his brother's eyes.
Alex, who now came to realization nodded his head and sighed deeply.
"That son of a cow. He has no shame."
"He has no shame indeed"
"He threatens to wage a war on us if we don't hand Bella" Diana reminded them.
"We are already at war with the tyrant Diana, that flimsy threat of his is not going to make me do as he says. I'm never sending Bella to that pack. Never!" Achilles made clear.
"I'm never even going to allow it. Now that we know his plan, I think we need to work together to plan on how to go about winning this war that he waged on us."
"We definitely will." Turns to Bella. Come on love." He urged and Bella rose from her seat. He took her into his arms and looked at the others once more. "But not right now… I have more important things to do" He said with a cocky smile that made Bella blush hard. She buried her face in his arms as they both walked away.
Diana watched Alex as he looked at them disappear up the stairs with anger burning his eyes.
"If I were you, I will forget about her because she has already chosen who she wants to be with" She advised and left the living room.
"We'll see about that!" Alex murmured to himself as he followed her.
