Days past, Achilles and his sibling were trying to figure out how to deal with Alpha D'argan and his war threats, but the members of the Wall Street Pack were growing impatient especially as the dead threats were becoming even more serious. When they learned that Bella was the daughter of Alpha D'argan, they were all taken aback.
Some were scared that she would bear a child who will grow up to be as wicked as his grandfather, but none of them dared to say that to the hearing of anyone who would take it to the Alpha.
However, they were all terrified of Alpha D'argan's threats because they knew they stood no chance against him if a war broke out, so they decided to make their leaders call a meeting so they could talk to Achilles.
When the issue was presented before Achilles, he almost dismissed the idea out of anger, but Diana advised him to meet the people, have a one on one talk with them and explain to them all that was going on, because he was their Alpha.
They were all seated in the pack hall and Achilles could tell from the looks on the faces of his subjects that all was not well. Some of them looked scared, some had scornful looks on their faces and others had blank expressions. He didn't even know where he was going to begin.
"Go ahead" Diana urged as she nudged him with her elbow to take the podium. Achilles cleared his throat and rose up to take the podium.
He looked down at his subjects with pride in his eyes. Fifteen years ago, when his parents were killed, he assumed the role as Alpha, he had the surviving elders to help him rule the pack till he turned eighteen when they all left everything in his hands. He had been their leader for as long as he could remember and he loved them all.
"I greet you all members of the Wall Street Pack" He greeted calmly and the entire hall went silent. "I was made to understand that lately there has been a few controversies about certain aspects that have to do with our redemption. I would love to hear it from your own mouths."
"Alpha D'argan is threatening have us all killed because we are keeping his daughter. We are scared of what he will do to us when two weeks go by and she's still here with us" A man explained from the crowd.
"Exactly and we all know we stand no chance against Alpha D'argan if he wages a war on us. That man has the best werewolf army in the world and our entire population is like a quarter of his army. If we wait for that war to meet us, there will be another massacre! And we don't want that, do we?"
"No we do not?" The crowd answered in unison.
Achilles looked at the floor and smiled as he shook his head.
They were talking nonsense.
"So…" He spoke on as he looked up at them. "I believe you all know that your leaders and I, together with my siblings are working hard to see how we can deal with this issue, but you all feel like all our efforts will be in vain. Is that true?"
"It's hard to say Alpha. If that plan of yours does not involve finding allies to fight with us, then I'm tempted to think that your efforts will go in vain" Another man spoke and Achilles raised his brows.
They seemed to be driving to something and he wanted to know what that thing was.
"So, if you think my plan is going to fail, what do you suggest we do? Did you all come up with a plan, yourselves?" He asked looking at them.
"Not exactly a plan." The man who first spoke, replied. "But I think it's a solution. If we don't want to get masacred again, I think we should just hand her over to her father and let peace reign." The man spoke out and Achilles was intrigued by his selfishness and thoughtlessness.
Anger rose from within him, but he decided to curb it and stay still.
He wanted to pick that man up by his collar and throw him hard against the wall.
"Yes, Alpha. We all know that Alpha D'argan down not give his word for nothing. If he says he will wage a war on us, he definitely. To avoid all that, let's hand over what he has asked for and stay peaceful" Another man added and a long moment of silence followed.
Achilles looked at his siblings who didn't look happy about what the subjects had just said. He made a silent prayer in his heart, thanking the Moon goddess for making Bella too tired to follow them. She would have felt very bad if she was here to listen to all what the people were saying.
"So, you a want me to send the pregnant Shewolf to the tyrant Alpha, aye?" He asked icily, after a long moment of silence and no one dared to respond. "A few months ago, I presented to you a pregnant Shewolf and I told you that the child she was carrying was going to be the redeemer of this pack. You all were happy about the news. About a month ago, you all reported to me that your wives and mates started seeing periods. That was good news, you all were happy and hopeful. But today, you all have gathered to say that you want me to send that pregnant Shewolf into the hands of a tyrnat just because he said he would wage a war on us if that's not done? You forgotten all about the good things she has and still to bring about in this pack. Everything!"
"Alpha …" A man started to talk, but he cut him off.
"I am not done talking!" He spoke out firmly and then man shut his mouth. A pin dropping silence filled the entire room and no one even dared move a muscle. "Do you all think that the redmption we talked about was going to come easy? Take a look at what happened fifteen years ago. It was bloody, it was messy, disastrous and we all lost everything we had. We all were present when that massacre happened and we saw how intense it was. Curses were placed on all of us. Do you honestly think it's going to be easy to reverse those curses and become that Wall Street Pack we used to be? You say I should send Bella to her pack, what happens after that? Alpha D'argan kills her and we lose all hope of ever getting redeemed. We spend the rest of our miserable lives bowing to that tyrant and we all die without heirs to continue our legacy. Is that what you want?" He asked, shouting at the top of his voice, but no one had the nerve to answer him.
The stern looks on their faces had been replaced with guilt and sadness.
"I understand that you are scared, I understand that you all do not want history to repeat itself, but that doesn't mean you ought be selfish and thoughtless. The poor girl did not ask for this. Her life is in danger, but not once has she tried to give up. She wants this redemption even more than you all and she is determined to see it through. And also, the moon goddess is not foolish. She gave the news of this redemption and that means it's going to happen. There's going to be no war from the tyrant Alpha, so stop panicking and stop thinking things that are not right. I am your Alpha. I have been your Alpha since I was ten years old. When we lost everything, I worked and dedicated my life to getting us back on our feet and I did just that. So why don't you trust me to take of this? Why must you sit and imagine the stupidest things to discuss with me?" He asked clearly annoyed and everyone was still silent.
The subjects gave each other judging looks as they all regretted ever thinking of such a thing.
"Achilles" Diana called softly as she stood before him. She could see that her brother was already losing his temper and she did not want him to talk any more. She gestured Alex to take him away from the hall.
"I will take it from here." She assured Achilles who nodded his head and followed his brother outside.
Diana took the podium and looked down at the people who had sorrowful looks. She read their minds and saw that they all regretted what they had said.
"Just imagine that one day you go home from work and your wife tells you she's pregnant. You call a few friends, announce the good news abd you all celebrate. Your wife bears you a handsome baby and you get to name him whatever you want. Imagine this pack becoming the most pack in the most powerful pack in the world. Imagine that there is no Alpha D'argan to terrorize us or make us live in fear. Just a imagine life after our redemption… just imagine"
She says with a smile before stepping down from the podium. She then turned around and walked away with Tony following her closely.
"Diana" Tony called once they were in the hallway.
Diana stopped on her tracks and turned to face him.
"Yes, Tony."
"You were amazing in there." He complimented and Diana chuckled as a tears ran down her cheek.
"Thank you"
"I look forward to the redemption too." He said and turned to leave.
"Tony" Diana called softly and Tony pivoted on his spot to face her again.
"Yes, princess."
"You can talk to Achilles about it, I'm old enough and I'm sure he'll understand. I'm tired of waiting." She asserted with a shaky voice and Tony inched closer to her.
He had been in love with Diana for as long as he could remember, but he knew Achilles would behead him if he ever mentioned a thing like that to him, so he chose to stay quiet.
Achille was extremely protective of his sister.
"I'll do that once all this drama is over. Can you wait until then?" He asked softly and Diana joined their foreheads together as she bursts into tears.
"I will wait all over again if it means I get you Tony."
"I love you, Diana" He confessed as he brought their lips together as if he wanted to kiss her, but when they close enough, he withdrew himself and walked away from her presence.
He did not want their first kiss to be in hiding.
He wanted to kiss her when they were official, with the knowledge of both her brothers.
That was how much he loved and respected her.
