CHAPTER FIFTY-FOUR.

  FLASHBACK

"Diana"A familiar voice called as Diana was about to walk out of the gate. She rolled her eyes in annoyance as she contemplated for a while, wether to stop and listen to what Achilles had to say, or to walk on. They just had a heated argument a while ago about her fight training.

She hated it and she had begged him several times to let her stop doing the training, but he had blatantly refused even after she brought up the fact that she had magical powers and did not need physical strength to defend herself.

"Diana" The voice went through again and this time around, she stopped and turned halfway to face him.

  "What?"

"You don't have to be so angry, I'm doing this for your own good!" Achilles tried to explain, but her sixteen year old self was just too stubborn to want to understand, so she huffed in anger and walked away, leaving her brother feeling bad for himself.

When she arrived at the training ground, she looked around with a lot of disdain in her eyes. She hated going there and most especially, she hated the fact that she had to endure so much pain and scolding from trainers during practice. She walked into the dressing room where she dropped her bag in her locker and and went out to join the other girls in the field. When she got there, she was enraged by what she saw.

All the girls were standing around Tony, the Beta of the pack and giggling shyly as he tried to demonstrate to them a fighting technique. Diana stood a few meters away and peeked at them and she felt her blood boil in her veins when she noticed that almost all the girls were trying to flirt with him.

The usual saying was that her brothers, Achilles and Alex were the most handsome guys in the entire pack, but for her, Tony was.

He wasn't as tall and muscular as his brothers, but he was tall and muscular to some extend and everytime she looked at his strong arms, she wondered what it would feel like to be wrapped up in them.

She had a very fat crush on Tony, but she had never dared to tell anyone. She was scared that if her brother found out, she was going to be punished severely and for Tony, she did not have the courage to let him know. She was five years older than her and the girls he mingled with most at times were his age mates who were more mature and of course a million times more sophisticated than she was.

She knew Tony would never be interested in a girl like her.

"Diana" Tony suddenly acknowledged, causing her to snap out of her thoughts. She looked up at him for a whole lot of minutes and all of a sudden, she stood up from the grass and began running away.

"Diana!" She head him call as he ran to catch up with her, but she kept running until she found herself in the woods.

"Diana!" Tony called yet again, but she still did not stop and as she ran on blindly, she gave an unexpected step into a slightly deep part of the path and tripped on her ankle. A sharp pain travelled from her ankle up to her heart and she let out a loud scream as she fell hard to the ground and held her ankle.

She held her ankle and burst into tears the moment Tony stooped down before her. She was panting from all the running and trying to breathe and she could not contain the pain so she kept crying.

Without saying a word, Tony carefully held her ankle and examined it for a while.

"Is it broken? Please tell me it's not broken" She pleaded in tears.

"No, it's not. It's just a sprain, it'll heal before you know it." He explained and She let out a sigh of relief. "May I know why you suddenly ran off? Did I do something wrong?" He inquired, but Bella stayed mute. "Bella please, I need you to reply me, if I did anything wrong, just tell me so I'll apologize and…"

"Apologize ?" She asked as she chuckled in frustration.

"Yes, I will" He said in a serious tone.

"Then I think you should apologize to me for being so handsome that the girls can't stop forcing themselves on you. Apologize to me for being five years older than me, because that's the reason why you can't notice me. That's the reason why you can never consider getting close to me!" She spoke out in anger and her words stunned Tony to the core.

He took out a handkerchief from his trouser pockets and leaned closer to her and gently wiped her tears away.

Diana watched in anger as he acted like he had not just heard her rant about something so serious.

When he finished wiping her tears, he gently scooped her into his arms arms and began walking out of the woods. Those were the same arms Diana had always wondered how it would be like to be held in.

Her wish had finally come to pass, but she was just too angry to enjoy the moment.

"If anyone has to apologize for my looks…" Tony broke the silence as he walked on with Diana in his arms. "Then that person should be the moon goddess because she's the one who created me. I can't also apologize for being five years older than you because that's something I have no control over. However, that's not a reason to make me not notice you. As a matter of fact I have and my heart flutters every time I see you walk into the field with those pink and purple mini sports wears you always have on. I want to be close to you, Princess Diana, but I can't because I am your brother's Beta. He needs me to help him rule this pack and he won't be getting that help if he kills me. Your brother is very protective of you that's why I'm waiting for the time when you'll be mature enough so that I'll take permission from him first before getting close to you." He explained and Diana found herself smiling like an idiot in his arms.

"If that's the case then, why do you let the girls flirt with you?"

"Because it's the only way to make them learn self defense. But since I know it makes you upset, henceforth, I'm going to stop them. How does that sound?"

"Relieving" She replied with a giggle and Tony just shook his head and walked on.

That's exactly how they had been loving each other in secret for the past four years.

"He's a good man" A voice snapped Diana out of her thoughts and she jolted in fear as she turned to look who it was. She let out a breath she didn't even know she was hiding when she saw her grandma.

"Grandma" She called as she struggled to wipe her tears away. "I didn't realize you were here"

"That's because you were lost in thought" Grandma pointed out and Diana chuckled in pain.

"I was just… thinking… you know, about Tony. How all this began. It's been four years grandma. Four good years"

"Do you want me to tell you a secret?" Grandma asked with a smile and Diana quietly nodded her head. "You and Tony have a very bright future together. He's going to make things right just like he has promised. All you have to be is patient " Grandma spilled and within the twinkle of an eye, she was nowhere to be found.

Diana chuckled as tears of joy kept streaming down her cheeks.

"I'll wait all over again if it means I get you Tony."
