"Melissa and I inspected the farmlands today, the crops are doing well and even the sales are good. The agric business is booming and we are not going to be running short of food, ever. Tomorrow, l will meet up with Zayne so we can go inspect the female training ground and see if everything is going well." Tony reported to Achilles who was seated on his chair with his head in his hands.
He was exhausted and frustrated at the same time.
He and Alex were at war with each other and he wasn't haply about it, but he needed to prove his point to him.
"Tony" He called in a tired voice and raised his head up to look at Tony. Everyday of his life, he thanked the moon goddess for choosing him to be his Beta. He could not have wished for a better Beta. Tony served his pack diligently and sometimes, he felt like he did not thank him enough for all the assistance he was giving him. "Thank you very much. Thank you for everything"
"I'm not sure why you are thanking me, but you are welcome." Tony replied with a nod. "Well, it's getting late, I better get going now." He announced as he dropped a file on the table. "Can I go now?" He asked and Achilles leaned backwards on his chair and rocked it back and forth while giving Tony a very serious look that made him uncomfortable.
"After you answer a few questions"
"Questions?" Tony asked nervous.
"Yes, questions. Pretty easy questions which require sincere answers."
"Alright then, shoot!" He said trying very much to sound confident, but at that moment, his soul had left his body to deal with that situation on it's own.
"Are you gay?" Achilles shot the first question and Tony chocked on his saliva.
He bent forward as he coughed hard to clear his throat and stop himself from suffocating. After a few moments of coughing violently, he was fine again, but his head still felt like there were blades in it, tearing his brain apart and his eyes had become blood red.
Achilles sat nonchalantly on his seat, as he waited for him to rise up and reply him.
"What?" Tony asked once he was calm again.
"You heard me the first time Tony, you even chocked, remember?"
The was sarcasm drooling from his response.
"Why would you even ask that?" Tony asked panting and Achilles shrugged his shoulders as he rose from his seat and walked around the table to meet him where he was standing.
"We grew up together Tony, not only as Alpha and Beta, but as brothers and best friends. You have never told me anything about any girl ever before."
"It's not like you told me anything about any girl before Bella showed up." Tony said as he rolled his eyes. "We are pretty much thesame." He pointed out and shoved both hands in his trouser pockets and nodded his head. "Yeah, you are right. We never talked about stuff like that to eachother."
"Exactly."
"But I'm still curious to know though, is it men you like?"
"No! No! No! I don't like men! I'm not gay!" Tony denied flatly and Achilles heaved out a heavy sigh of relief.
"Good. Good"
"Tss… what's wrong with you man?"
"I'm just worried for you Tony. I've been waiting for a long time, hoping you would introduce someone to me, but… you haven't. Or, could it be that you are seeing someone in hiding?"
"No… I'm not."
"Ok… cool. But if you have someone, you will tell me, right? We are best friends."
"I most certainly will" Tony agreed with a smile and Achilles gave him a gentle pat on the shoulder.
"Thank you."
"Hmmm." He murmured with a nod. "I should go now." He said and turned to leave.
"What do you think about my sister?" Achilles asked out of nowhere and that made Tony freeze on his tracks. His heart hopped out of his body and began jumping away, but he had no strength to follow it.
He lifelessly turned around to face Achilles who was looking at him with so much uncertainty in his eyes.
He was terrified and he could not help but wonder if Achilles knew about he and Diana.
"What about Diana" He finally mustered up courage and asked.
"I mean, what do you think of her as a woman?" Achilles asked again.
Tony cleared his throat and took a step forward. He had so much to say about Diana that he didn't even know where to start.
Diana was his favorite person in the entire world. She was the love of his life and the reasoned he served the pack so diligently so that one day it would be a better place for them to live and raise their family once everything was over.
She was the first person he thought about in the morning when he woke up from sleep and the last thing he said before he fell asleep was her name.
"She… she's an incredible young woman. This Pack is lucky to have her as their witch." he replied curtly and Achilles calmly nodded his head .
"She is, indeed. So, do you like her?"
"There's nothing to not like about her. Like I said, she's incredible "
Tony had no idea where Achilles was driving to with his questions, but he was already getting uncomfortable.
"Good night, Tony" Achilles wished him with a smile.
"Goodnight, Alpha Achilles" Then he left the office with his mind spinning like a roller coaster.
Achilles dismissed the scene and left his office too. He had been working all day and what he needed to do was go into his bedroom and talk with Bella. That was the only thing that could relieve him of his stress at that moment.
When he got into his bedroom, he met Bella sitting on the bed, reading a book and a smile spread across his lips.
Their baby was definitely going to be a bookworm, just like their mother.
"You're back" Bella acknowledged joyfully as he walked over to her and planted a soft kiss on her lips, before lowering his head down to her stomach to kiss her bump.
"Have you been a good boy?" He whispered and Bella giggled.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm trying to bond with with my son" He tossed his shoes off his fit and got on the bed.
Bella neatly folded the page of the book she was reading before closing the book so she would not have difficulty finding the page she stopped on the next time she wanted to read the book again. Achilles took the book from her and placed it on the nightstand.
She snuggled into his big arms and drank in his very pleasant smell with her nostrils. One thing she noticed was that the pregnancy was making her like people's perfumes.
"That's the latest, sniffing people every now and then" Achilles pointed out and she laughed hard.
"It's the hormones" She defended.
"You blame everything on the hormones." He said laughing as well. "Guess who I was talking with today."
"I hate the guessing game" She told him clearly.
"You are no fun at all."
"I know, so just tell me already."
"I was talking with Tony" He disclosed and Bella felt her heart relocate to her abdomen.
She disengaged herself from his hold and supported her weight on her arm which was lying on his chest as she looked down at him.
"You and Tony talk everyday" She said plainly.
"I know, but we spoke about something different today. We spoke about women"
"Interesting " She exclaimed with a smile. So, what about woman?"
"Well… I'm going to tell you something and I need you to give me your word that you won't tell another soul about it. It's going to be our little secret"
"Oh boy! Not again!" Her subconscious screamed, but she nodded and pretended to be calm even though all her senses and nerves were waging a war against her at that moment.
"I promise I won't say a word to anyone. "
"I don't know if this is actually appropriate, but… I can't help it. I love Diana very much and I'm very protective of her. I don't want her getting hurt in anyway, especially because of a man"
"O..oookkkkayyy…" Bella slurred with her brows raised.
"Well… Tony and I have been friends since childhood. I know his perfections, I know his flaws, I know him inside out and I like him. I like him for Diana and I'm hoping that when all this is over, once the curses are broken, they will be mates because I cannot picture her with any other man, but Tony."
