Alpha D'argan was gradually losing his patience with everything that was going on. It had been over two weeks since he gave orders for Achilles to send his daughter to him, but he had not done that.
The only thing stopping him from barging into the wall street pack and killing them all was the boundary spell that was protecting them from himself and his soldiers. Even if he wanted to seek help from the neighboring packs, it was going to be a very long process because no Alpha would willingly send their soldiers to war with the Wall Street Pack especially now that they knew the Wall Street Pack had a witch that was protecting them.
The rogues he usually sent to go cause trouble at the pack were not enough to send on that kind of mission either.
Thinking of all that made him even more bitter as the days went by. He could feel that his health was getting worse and that his doom was drawing near, but there was nothing he could do to stop it. That was what frustrated him the most.
"Alpha D'argan." He heard Calum call and he instantly turned around to look at him.
"Calum." He called back as he walked over to the old wizard with a worried look on his face. "Calum, I feel like I'm losing my mind. I'm going crazy!" He disclosed in a frustrated tone.
Calum looked at the miserable looking Alpha and shook his head. He was indeed losing his mind.
"I sent orders for those children to send my daughter over, but they haven't. They have refused to obey my orders. I can't barge in there and attack them myself. What do I do?" He asked as he walked helter-skelter around the vast living room.
"Well, if they have refused to send her over on their own accord, then I guess you have to go there and take her yourself." Calum explained. Alpha D'argan stopped pacing about and gave him a hard glare.
"Did you not get the part where I said that pack is impenetrable for me and anyone who hails from this Pack? Do you honestly think if I could get into that pack all this charade would not be over by now? Wall Street Pack would have been burnt to the ground and considered history!" He yelled in frustration and Calum sighed heavily.
"Okay … I understand, but still you have to do something to bring that girl here. I spoke with the ancestors and I have found a way to reverse that curse."
"I don't want the curse to be reversed. I want them all killed so all of this can end!" He spoke in rage.
The anger boiling in his heart was so hot that he felt that they would create a hole and flow out of his chest.
"Alpha D'argan, we don't know for sure what happens if that child dies either. Remember, your life is …"
"The opposite of his!" Alpha D'argan rudely interrupted. "It's like an indirect proportionality. He lives, I die. He dies, I live. Simple!" He stated and Calum began shaking his head in denial.
Alpha D'argan was getting it all wrong.
"No …it's not that simple. This is not mathematics. This is a fated Redemption that has a mix of witchcraft and sorcery. You can't just figure it out with your ordinary intelligence." He told Alpha D'argan firmly.
"So… if it's not that simple, what's it like?"
"Like I said, I spoke with the ancestors and I found out something from them. If you drink the blood of the one carrying the redeemer of the Wall Street Pack, then the curse that was placed on you would be broken."
"What curse?" Alpha D'argan asked with a chuckle. "What curse are you talking about?"
"Alpha D'argan, there is something you do not know. That night you ordered the Witch to place a curse on her subjects, she also placed a curse on you and that's why all of this is happening."
"And what was the curse?" Alpha D'argan asked mortified.
"Since you took away their fertility, she used that against you. Any child born of any member of the wall street pack would bring you down!" He announced and Alpha D'argan nodded his head as everything became clearer to him.
He now understood the big deal between him and an unborn child and he also remembered Grandma Diana's last words when he had stabbed her.
They were: "Every finish line is the beginning of a new race."
That night, he had been so elated that he didn't even try to figure out what that meant.
The witch had placed a curse on him and he didn't even know it.
"Arggghhh!" He screamed in agony as he kicked a nearby table, causing it to fly all the way to the other side of the room before hitting the ground.
He was irritated, depressed and frustrated at everything that was going on. He did not want to die!
"Alpha D'argan, you have to calm down."
"I cannot calm down! I am dying!"
"There is a way out!" Calum informed and he immediately stopped shattering things on the floor and walked over to him.
"What's that way out, please tell me." He pleaded almost in tears.
"If your men cannot go themselves to that pack, then I think you should send some rogues to go and kidnap Bella. I know it's going to be hard, but they should at least try and let's see how it goes." He proposed and Alpha D'argan furrowed his brows.
"You think that would work?"
"It's not solid guarantee, but it won't hurt to try. We can't just sit and do nothing. We have to bring the girl here."
"Yeah. That has to happen. I will summon the rogue king immediately."
"Good. Don't you worry, that boundary spell if theirs would not be up for too long, I'm working on how to break it and once I do, you can evade the pack and cause all the calamity you want."
"Thank you very much Calum, I really appreciate you helping me out." He thanked the wizard sincerely and he smiled.
"Any time, great Alpha. I will take my leave now, make sure to keep me updated."
"I most certainly will."
Calum then bowed down to the Alpha before exiting the living room.
The moment he left, Alpha D'argan mindlinked his Beta to come meet him in the living room and in the less than no time, the man was there, ready to execute his orders.
"Alpha D'argan" The man called with his head bowed.
"Summond the rogue king, immediately!" He ordered and the man nodded his head before turning around to leave.
"Let's see how this unfolds." He told himself and walked over to the staircase.
