"Diana, hold on!" Alex called out and Diana immediately stopped walking and turned to face him. He needed clarifications.
"What do you mean by Grandma wants to speak with us?" He asked walking closer to Diana and her shoulders sagged.
"What exactly do you not understand about that?" Diana asked in a bored tune.
"Diana, do you realize that Achilles and I have not seen grandma for fifteen years now?"
"Yes, I know that." Diana acknowledged.
"And that there are better ways by which you could have told us that she wanted to see us. Not just walk in and drop the bomb like it was some normal thing." He tried to explain, but Diana did not seem to be getting him.
"And what isn't normal about grandma wanting to talk to you two?" Diana asked, confused and when Alex noticed that she wasn't getting his point, he let it go.
His siblings never seemed to see any sense in the things he said.
"Nothing at all. Forget it."
"Well, I can't get out of my chambers because of the boundary spell."
"It's broken and you had better not try to do anything stupid. Grandma has summoned you two to talk about Bella's kidnapping." She further explained and the guys quietly followed her out of the living room.
When they got to Diana's chambers, she led them to her private room and at the door, Achilles hesitated to go inside. The last time he was there, Bella was lying lifeless on the ground and their unborn child was dead. It took a while for that awful memory to stop haunting him, but now that he was going into the room again, he had no idea how he was going to handle himself if those memories came back.
"Achilles, is everything alright?" Diana asked when she noticed his hesitation to get into the room.
Achilles instantly nodded his head.
"Yeah, everything is alright." He lied smoothly and stepped into the room. Bella closed the door behind them and the two brothers froze on their tracks when they saw their grandmother seated by the window at the other end of the room, facing the window.
"Grandma" Achilles called and their grandmother turned to face them.
A wide smile formed on her lips when she saw her full grown grandsons. She instantly rose from her seat and walked towards them.
She badly wanted to hug them, but she couldn't because she was merely a ghost.
"I knew you two will grow up to be very fine men." She complimented and both brothers chuckled as they looked at her totally bewildered.
It had been fifteen good years since they last saw her and they were beyond happy to see her again.
"How have you been, grandma?" Alex asked and she snorted.
"You can't ask me that question, I'm a ghost. I should be asking you that instead. How have you been?"
"Well, grandma, me telling you that would be a waste of time because I know you have been watching me all this while and you definitely know what I've been up to." Alex explained and their grandmother smiled and looked from Alex to Achilles.
"Your brother's bond is instead very strong. I was thinking you two would have attempted to kill each other by now. I'm impressed"
"Grandma, I know what happened between us was crazy, but there's no way I'm ever going to think of killing my own brother. That's just impossible." Alex added and Grandma Diana smiled proudly.
"I'm very proud of how you all turned out to be. Even without parents, you all managed to raise yourselves the right way. You parents must be very proud of you."
"I hope they are."
"Alright then, let's get into the real reason why I called you here. It's about Bella's kidnap. Achilles, I asked your sister to lock you up in your chambers with a boundary spell because I know how irrational you can be sometimes, especially during times like this. I didn't want you risking your life and that of Bella's."
"Grandma, on a very serious note, I'm troubled. Bella is with the most evil man in the world right now. He could hurt her anytime he pleased, that's if he hasn't already."
"He hasn't…"
"But he plans to." Achilles cut her off.
"Achilles…" Diana called in a warning tone and he pursed his lips as he regretted what he just did.
"Sorry grandma." He apologized and stayed still.
"Like I said, he plans to hurt her, but you don't have to worry, he won't get the chance."
"I… I don't think Iunderstand . How won't he get a chance?" Achilles asked, confused.
"Alpha D'argan thinks he rules over the werewolf world, he thinks he's by far the most powerful werewolf and that everyone fears him. Well, that is not a lie, a lot of people fear and hate him too. They are just too terrified of him to show it. One of these days, he's going to be betrayed by someone very close to him and he won't even see it. That's why I'm instructing you all not to go over there and cause a scene. This redemption has an established course it has to take and the last thing you want to do is obstruct that course."
"So, this means someone from his castle is going to help Bella escape?" Diana questioned and their grandma nodded her head.
"Exactly. No harm is going to come to Bella, I can assure you all that."
"But…I don't think I understand. Alpha D'argan needs Bella to be able to stop this redemption, now that he has her, why isn't he doing what he is supposed to do?"
"Because what he has to do is not as simple as it seems. The only thing you have to know is that Bella will return unharmed, so you stay still. I will take my leave now." She said as she turned around and vanished into thin air before any of them could say another word.
The three siblings were awestruck by what their grandmother had just told them and they had nothing to say to each other. Diana and Achilles quietly made themselves comfortable on the couches in the sitting area while Alex stayed on his feet and paced about.
They were all confused and speechless.
