CHAPTER SEVENTY-THREE

Bella opened her eyes and her lips curved into a smile when the familiar smell of her bedroom hit her nostrils. She lazily sat upright on the bed and scanned around, her heart sommersaulting in her chest out of joy. She was in her bedroom at Achilles' chambers. Last night, when Tony brought her to the chambers, she begged him not to tell Achilles she was back. She wanted to surprise them the next morning so she tiptoed into her bedroom and slept in it.

Almost the entire night, she kept trashing on the bed and smiling, still not believing that she was back home. She also thought about many things, including Luna Elvira. One of the guards who were surely on patrol took her and she knew the moment Alpha D'argan found out what she did, he was definitely going to have he beheaded. Her stomach cramped up just thinking about that and she fought her urge to cry. The woman had been very kind to her and it hurt her to think that there was nothing she could to save her.

"I'm sorry Luna Elvira." She mumbled as she got down from the bed. The time on the wall clock read eight am and she knew that was the time when Achilles and his siblings ate breakfast. She got down from the bed and went into the bathroom to do her business and freshened up before going to meet them.

As she descended the staircase leading downstairs where the living room and dinning were situated, her heart warmed up when she heard Diana's voice. She was explaining something about a magical experience she had the previous night and Bella chuckled calmly. She quickly descended the staircase and headed to the dinning, eager to see their reactions once they saw her. The first person to feel her presence was Diana. She suddenly stopped talking and looked at the door and her mouth fell when she saw Bella.

"Sweet Moon goddess!" She exclaimed in shock as she instantly rose from her seat, casting Bella a stunned look. Achilles and Alex followed Diana's gaze and they both rose on their feet as well when they saw Bella standing by the door and smiling like everything was normal.

  "Bella!" Achilles called in shock.

"The one and only." Bella responded with a smile. Achilles rushed over to her and drew her into a tight hug with his heart drumming in his chest. He could not believe his eyes.

Their grandmother had told them Bella would return, but she did not specify how soon. He was totally stupified at that moment.

"When… how… what…" He stuttered, confused as he pulled her out of his arms and held her away from his body to look at her closely. He scanned her entire body for any bruises or lines from whip lashes, but none of that seemed to be present. He heaved a heavy sigh of relief and bundled her into his arms again. "Goodness Bella I was almost losing my mind." He cried and Bella gently patted his back.

"Achilles, you are squeezing the life out of me." She cautioned and he quickly let go of her.

"I'm sorry, I'm just really happy to see you. When I noticed you were gone, I swear I wanted to come and get you myself, but grandma prevented that from happening. She said you were going to come back to us." Achilles explained and Bella pursed her lips and look up at him.

"It's a good thing you didn't come. That tyrant would've had you killed before you uttered a word." Bella informed him.

Diana and Alex who had been watching from the dining, approached them.

Bella looked up at Alex and all she could think of was the punch he got from Achilles the day she got kidnapped.

She looked from Alex to Achilles and back to Alex, trying to understand what was going on between them that she did not know about.

"Alex." She finally called. Alex stepped closer to her and drew her into his warm embrace, totally ignoring the scawl Achilles had on. He closed his eyes and let out a sigh before kissing her hair.

His love for her had almost made him lose her and he knew it was about time he stopped whatever it is he was doing.

"I'm sorry." He finally whispered before releasing Bella from his hug. "I'm sorry for the trouble I caused you Bella."

"You don't have to be sorry Alex. Those guys were going to kidnap one way or the other. The most important thing is that I'm back home, safe and sound."

Alex smiled and nodded his head before taking a step backwards. Achilles immediately drew Bella in his arms, causing Alex to chuckle.

He still loved Bella, but he knew he was not the one for Bella. Achilles was the man for her. He was not going to stop loving her, he was just going to change to the way he loved her. At first, he loved her as a woman he would love to be with, but from then on, he was going to love her as a sister. Just like he did Diana.

"Come on, I'm sure you are hungry, let's get you something to eat." Said Achilles, leading her to the dining and the others followed them. Once they were all settled, Achilles meticulously served her a heavy meal with a wide smile on his face. Everyone could tell that he was elated to have Bella back.

  Like, who wouldn't?

"So, we are curious to know how you managed to escape. Who help you?"

"You won't even imagine, it was Luna Elvira, Alpha D'argan's wife." She announced and they all stopped what they were doing and looked at her.

  "His wife?" Alex asked, stunned.

  "Yeah."

"Ah… now I understand what grandma meant when she said Alpha D'argan will be betrayed by someone very close to him. The poor woman must be sick of him." Diana clarified as she playfully poked the pancake in her plate with her fork several times.

"I didn't believe her when she first told me she was going to help me. I mean, she's his wife right? But, as time went by, I noticed she was sick of him as Diana rightly said. The tyrant doesn't treat her well. She's miserable. She told me she didn't want the curse to be broken, she wants him dead!"

  "The poor thing."

"Sad thing is, when we got to the boundary, that's when I remembered that she would not be able to come with me because of the boundary spell. I felt so bad for her, especially when one of the guards showed up and took her away." Bella explained sadly.

"She was taken away?" Diana asked aghast.

"Yeah." Pouts her lips. "Someone found us in the woods. She should be dead by now. I feel so bad for her, she deserved better."

A pin dropping silence filled the atmosphere as they all just kept staring into space, not knowing what to say or do. It was indeed a tragic fate that befell the good Luna.
