One month later.
Bella's due date was around the corner and everyone in the castle was on alert. The pack doctor came in everyday to have her checked up and Achilles did not let her out of his sight.
One thing that got everyone even more worked up was the fact that Alpha D'argan had not made a single attack attempt on them, even though the boundary spell had been broken. The entire pack had been suspiciously peaceful and that bothered Achilles. No one knew when the enemy would strike..
"This is driving me crazy." He whispered frustration as he stepped out of the closet. He looked at the bed and his heart ached when he saw an empty bed. He was already used to seeing Bella lying on his bed with their baby bump every time he got of the closet after putting on his clothes. She left for Diana's chambers so they could spend some girl time together about six hours ago and he missed her dearly. He was about to mindlink her when h heard the sound of his room door opening.
He quickly blinked the linking and loocked at the door.
A wide smile spread across his face when Bella stepped into his bedroom with Diana following closely behind.
"What were you girls discussing about for six whole hours?" He asked amazed and Diana rolled her eyes.
"Everything and nothing!" She replied flatly and Bella cackled. "I have brought her safely like you ordered, I'll take my leave now, before I see what I'm not suppose to see."
"Yeah, you should leave now. Goodbye!"
"You look pathetic trying to drive me away, Achilles. Good night Bella." Diana wished, blowing Bella kisses as she left the bedroom. Achilles walked over to to Bella as waiting and drew her into his arms.
"I've missed you." He said kissing her Forehead and Bella couldn't help but giggle.
"You're being dramatic right now Achilles, I've been gone a few hours, not years."
"Please never call that word again. Bella I would die if we were separated for one who year. Goodness, my heart hurts from hearing that." He cried and Bella couldn't help but giggle even more.
Achilles could be such a baby sometimes.
"I want to spend the rest of the night cuddles up in your arms and talking gibberish." Said Bella, looking up at Achilles who was shaking head and smiling.
"As if that's not what you do every night. Come here." He swept her into his arms and carried her bridal style to the bed where he placed her on it and lay by her side. Bella quietly snuggled up in his arms and he held her close, kissing her hair every now and then.
"Diana and I passed by the nursery on our way here. It's beautiful. You did a great job. This baby is so lucky to have a father like you."
"Thank you love." He said kissing her hair again. "And he is so lucky to have mother like you."
"I can't wait to carry him in my arms."
"Me too. I can't wait."
A moment of silence.
"I'm scared." She suddenly whispered as sat up to look at Achilles.
Achilles looked down at her and he could actually see fear swimming in her eyes. He knew exactly why she was scared.
He was was scared as well, but he could not let her know. He had to be strong for her.
"What are afraid of?" He asked anyway.
"Well… it's been weeks since the boundary spell was broken and I'm sure Alpha D'argan knows about it, but he hasn't attacked us or anything. I'm scared he plans to do that on the day I'll be giving birth." She explained and Achilles sat uprught on the bed and gave her a piercing gaze before massaging his face with both palms as a heavy breath escaped his chest.
That's exactly what was going on in his mind.
"There's no way I can deny that because it's the truth, love. Alpha D'argan has a wizard with him and he definitely keeps him updated on your condition."
"I'm so scared." She panicked.
"Don't be. Yes, they are going to attack, but i won't let any of them reach you. Tony, Alex, Diana and I have hot everything planned out and I promise you that you will give birth to our son safely. Nothing will happen to you both." He assured her abd she quietly nodded her head and snuggled into his arms.
Achilles leaned against the headboard slat carely stroked her hair and he went into deep thought.
He was truly terrified of what was going to happen. Alpha D'argan could get a hold of Bella a d their unborn child, the worst could happen and he could lose everything, but he was confident that the moon goddess was on their side. Her father was a good Alpha, his grandfather was a good Alpha himself, his great grandfather and rest of his ancestors had been good Alphas. They rules their people well and they moon goddess was pleased. With them, do they was no reason why she would not take their side in a war like that.
"Everything will be fine, it's just a matter of time and everything will be back to normal." He whispered to Bella and she nodded her head.
"Did you talk to Tony about Diaba again?" She changed the topic
"No. But I will, once all of this over. I would want to get them close and when the curse gets broken, it happens they are not mates. That'll not be good."
"Yeah, true. Talking about mates, I asked you a question about us the other but you didn't respond."
"What question was that?" He asked, even though he knew what she was talking about.
That question plagued him every day of his life.
"What if all this gets over and the curse is broken? What if we find out we are not mates?" Bella asked looking up at him and he planted the softess of all kisses on her forehead before looking their gazes.
"We will cross that breach when we get there." He whispered the same reply Diana had given him and held her in his big arms.
He however, prayed that they were mates, vecagse if they weren't, then things would get very messy, because he was madly in love with Bella abd he was not gooibg to leave her for another girl, neither was he going to let another man take her from him.
