CHAPTER EIGHTY-SEVEN

Diana rushed to her private room crying, but she instantly stopped when she saw her grandma sitting on her usual spot by the window. She paused on the spot and looked at her in total disbelief. The war was over, so she thought she was gone for good, but it seemed she had thought wrong.

"Grandma." She called, sniffling tears as she took calm, calculated steps towards her grandmother. She was still very unsure if it was her or not, but her doubts evaporated when the old woman turned and it happened to be her grandmother.

"Grandma" she called and burst into tears. Those were one of the times when she wished her grandma was there in her actual physical body so she could hug her. She was so heartbroken that needed someone to hug and comfort her.

"What is wrong Diana?" Grandma asked even though she knew what was going on.

"Grandma it's… it's Achilles." She Said within violent sobs. She took sometime to steady her breath. "He has relinquished his rights as Alpha of the pack, grandma. He's leaving." She explained amidst tears and her grandmother walked over to her. "Grandma, is there no way to stop him from leaving? Please I don't want him to go." She cried.

"Diana, that is your brother's choice, no one can stop him."

"But grandma… the pack needs him."

  "The pack betrayed him!"

"I know, but… come on." She cried. "I don't want him to go. We've never been apart for long, I need him." By then, she was sobbing like a baby and her grandma pitied her, but there was nothing she could do. Achilles mind was already made up.

"Diana, don't cry. I know this doesn't sit well with you, but please don't cry."

"I'm going to miss him grandma. I'm going to miss him dearly." She said trying to wipe her tears away, but fresh tears kept streaming down her cheeks. Her heart literally hurt at that moment and she had difficulties breathing. That was the most heartbreaking thing that was about to happen to her after Alex's death.

"Anyway…" she said, still trying to clean her tears away. "He's not going to stay even if I cry out all my tears. He's still going to go. I was actually surprised to walk in here and see you grandma, is everything alright?" She asked, trying to steady her breath and be calm and her grandma quietly nodded her head.

"I saw what happened. You lost your brother Alex." She spoke and Diana burst into tears.

  She was totally heartbroken again.

One of her brother's was dead and now the other was about to leave her.

"Yes grandma. I swear I didn't see it coming. We got distracted when the baby was born and one of the guards had him killed. One brother is dead and the other has chosen to leave. I feel like I'm going to die." She cried as she held her chest and tried to steady her breath.

"I understand what you are going through Diana. Having both brothers leave is truly heartbreaking, but you will not be alone. You have Tony here with you." Grandma assured her but she scoffed.

"Tony. By midnight we are all gonna be able to detect our mates, how am I even sure he's my mate? If he's not my mate, he's immediately going to get obsessed with whomever she will be and totally forget about me." She lamented and her grandma just stood there, laughing.

"The moon goddess is not that heartless my dear. Come midnight, you will be satisfied with what you will see, I can assure you that." Grandma assured her and she just quietly nodded her head.

She was very exhausted from crying the entire day and she did not want to think about the possibility of her not being Tony's mate because she knew that thought would make her lose her mind. She lovef Tony very much and losing him to another girl was the last thing she wanted.

"So now, let's dive into the real reason I'm here."

"And what could that be?" Diana asked, wiping her tears away for the umpteenth time.

"The redemption is over. By midnight, the last curse will be broken. You all will be able to detect your mates and reproduce as promised, but… Alpha D'argan is still alive, so you all cannot be as powerful as you were before the massacre. The tyrant is still alive."

"I don't know why I didn't end him myself." Diana regretted.

"The moon goddess made that happen."

"What was the need then? He is still going to terrorize us. Especially now that the boundary spell is gone." Diana lamented.

"Well, I think there is a way to fix that."

"Really?" Diana asked eagerly. "How can that be done?"

"The moon goddess is angry with the people of the Wall street pack for betraying their Alpha and siding with the enemy, that's why the redemption was not complete. The curses have been broken, but your Paramount power has not been given back to you because Alpha D'argan is still alive. In the future, this could cause more problems. Problems I don't know about, but that shouldn't bother you now, okay?" She asked and Diana quietly nodded her head. "Good. So, the moon goddess is proud of your good work and she has decided to reward you with a chance of very powerful magic to do whatever it is you want to do. From putting up another boundary spell against the members of the Wall Street Pack, to bringing a dead brother back to life." Grandma revealed and Diana gave a surprised glance with her mouth hung open.

"Grandma… are you trying to say that I can bring Alex back to life?"

"Yes, because you have his soul with you, you have a chance to perform a very powerful spell that will transfer his body back into his soul and wake him up."

"Oh my goodness!" She cried and staggered backwards with her hands clutched over mouth to prevent the scream of excitement that was about to escape from her lips.

She raised her head to give her response, but on a second thought, she swallowed her words.

The redemption wasn't over. Grandma just said there could be trouble in the near future and she knew for sure that only the Wall Street Pack was capable of raining trouble on her pack. If she used the power to bring Alex back to life, he would leave together with Achilles and her people would still be left defenseless. Alpha D'argan would attack and the Wall Street Pack would become history.

That was the last thing she wanted to happen.

The Wall Street Pack was a very powerful pack and their ancestors had made sure to maintain that power over the centuries, she did not want her generation to be the one to fail the pack and make it seize to exist.

"Grandma. I love Alex very much and he knows how much I want him alive, but right now, everything's at stake. I know the people of the Wall Street Pack have committed a grave offense and deserve to be punished, but not by the hands of that tyrant. I wish to use that power to set up another boundary spell that will protect us all from that tyrant called Alpha D'argan. I'm going to work on other ways to bring Alex back to life, for now, what I want is the boundary." She explained and her grandmother looked at her with pride in her eyes.

Diana was indeed a selfless watch and she was proud to have her as a granddaughter.

"Your wish has been granted. I will help you perform the spell."

"Thank you grandma." She said and heaved out a heavy sigh. She took out the pendant on her neck which had Alex's soul locked in it and kissed it as a huge tear rolling down her cheek.

"I promise to find another way, brother. I promise."
