CHAPTER NINETY

"TONY!" Diana screamed at the top of her voice as she looked at the sticky red substance that had stained fingers when she touched the back of her night gown. She was bleeding heavily and that was not a good sign because she was pregnant.

For the past week, there had been a rapid increase in the rate of miscarriages happening in the pack and now it seemed like it had happened to her too.

The door flew open, revealing Tony who looked all flustered and scared. He rushed over to the bed to meet Diana who showed him the blood on her fingers.

"Tony, I'm bleeding and I can feel the cramps, I think… I… " she stuttered in tears. The reality of what had just happened to her broke her completely. "I think I've lost the baby." She cried.

"No! No baby no, don't say that. '' Tony panicked as he swept her into his arms and bolted out of the bedroom.

"Tony I'm scared." Diana wept bitterly as Tony rushed out of the house to the car where he put her to lie in the back seat and zoomed off once he was seated shotgun.

At the hospital, the nurses immediately brought out a stretcher to carry Diana who was already almost unconscious and just then, two other women were brought in in the same condition. As they pushed the woman into the ER, Tony looked around like he was in a trance.

Everything was happening so fast and his head was spinning like a roller coaster.

In the past year, a lot of children had died in the pack and he had thought it was normal, but for the past week, things had taken a drastic turn.

Almost every child in the pack was severely sick, some were bedridden, like his first daughter, Bella. The pregnant she-wolves were all having miscarriages and even Diana had joined them.

He was confused and devastated at the same time. He did not know what to do at that moment.

Diana had tried to consult their grandmother to no avail. There had been no word from her. Things were even worse than they used to be before the partial redemption.

"Beta Tony." Tony heard a call and the moment he turned and saw a doctor, he rushed over to him with hope filled in his eyes, but that hope was crushed when he saw the sorrowful look on the doctor's face.

"No." He denied as a tear rolled down his cheek. "No…please no. Please tell me she's still pregnant." Tony begged in tears as he held the doctor's hand, but the old man shook his head sorrowfully.

"I'm sorry Beta Tony, but Princess Diana lost the pregnancy, including the other she-wolves who came in. I'm really sorry." He apologized. "Please come with me so I can show you to her room." He Said and led the way to the room where Diana was admitted in. When they got to the door, the doctor apologized once more and left while Tony looked into the room through the almost transparent door and watched in pain and Diana cried and clutched her stomach.

They had just lost a pregnancy and their daughter was almost dying at home. Everything was falling apart.

Five years ago, that night when they found out they were mates, they had thought everything was finally going to be perfect between them. The first four years were great. They managed to rule the people together even though things were not the same like when Achilles and Alex were around.

Everything was moving smoothly until one year ago when children began to die unexpectedly.

"I can see you Tony." Diana spoke through mindlink, shaking him out of his thoughts and he immediately opened the door and walked. It broke his heart completely to see Diana in tears, especially after what had just happened.

"Baby." He called sadly as he walked over to the bed and took her in his arms. "I'm so sorry you have to go through that. I'm really sorry." He apologized as he calmly stroked her hair.

Diana was hurt as well, but she knew crying would solve the problem. What she needed to do was find a way to stop all that was happening and she knew she needed both Achilles and Bella to do that.

"Five years ago, grandma told me something would go wrong in the near future, but I ignored the warning and now, it's happening. The redemption was not complete. For as long as that tyrant breathes, the Wall Street Pack will never know no peace. Our destiny is tied to his life and unless we end it, we will never know peace and happiness."

"So this marks the beginning of another war with the Crescent Moon Pack?"

"Not the beginning, we will just kick off from where we stopped."

"But… How are we going to do that without our Alpha and Luna? They are the only ones who can lead us to war."

"I sent a message to them through their son, I'm sure they must have gotten it. Achilles made me understand he was never going to return to this back the day he was leaving, but I don't think he can hold on to those words anymore. This is his pack, his pups are dying and his subjects are becoming miserable, he needs to come back back and finish what he started." She asserted firmly and Tony swallowed hard because he knew that was a near impossibility.

If there was one thing he knew about Achilles it was the fact he never went back on his word. If Achilles said he wouldn't do something, nothing would make him change his mind to do that thing, so he doubted if the mighty Alpha would change his mind about coming to save the same people that caused him to leave in the first place.

"Diana, even if Achilles got the message you sent through baby Alex, you and I know he won't react to it."

"Then I guess it was about time I paid them a visit myself."

  "What?" Tony asked aghast.

"You heard me. I'm gonna go over to that human world and talk to them myself. They can't let this pack perish, not on my watch!" She asserted firmly and Tony didn't speak any further.

He just kept stroking her hair and wished that her journey would be fruitful because indeed, the wall street pack needed another redemption.
