CHAPTER NINETY-ONE

"Dad, you promised to tell me about aunt Diana during dinner." Alex reminded his father who seemed to have forgotten his promise. He had been excited all day for that moment. He wanted to know more about his father's mysterious sister and if there were more family members he didn't know about.

Ever since he was born, he had never been taken to any relatives house and none had ever come to visit them. Even when they went on vacations, they were always just the three of them and somehow, that made him sad and left out because his friends at school always spoke about their aunt's, uncle's and cousins, but he seemed to have none.

He wanted to know more about his aunt Diana, if she had a child as well so he could play with him or her.

"Ah…" Achilles exclaimed pretentiously. He had prayed all day for Alex to forget about that promise so he wouldn't have to explain everything to him, but it seemed his prayers were not answered. "Ah… yeah." He replied, looking at Bella who calmly nodded his head at him.

"You see love, your aunt Diana iss my younger sister who lives far away as your mother rightly said and it's been a while since we last saw each other."

"Why not, did you two get into a big fight?" He asked innocently and Achilles shook his head and chuckled.

"Of course not. Your aunt Diana and I would never fight with each other.

"Then why doesn't she come to visit? Or, why don't we go to visit her?" He asked curiously and bother Achilles and Bella exchanged confused glances, not knowing what to say next.

"Because aunt Diana has been very busy, but now she has come to pay you a visit." Diana spoke from the door and both Achilles and Bella turned to look at her with their eyes wide open in shock.

Achilles instantly rose from his seat with his heart pounding hard in chest.

Diana was standing by the door, smiling at them with tears filled in her eyes. She was nervous to be in their presence because she had no idea if they would welcome her in their home or chase her away.

"Aunt Diana!" Alex, who immediately recognized her, rushed over to her and Diana picked him up in her arms and engulfed him in a warm hug. The last time she saw him was the night his parents had taken him away, he was still a newborn.

She was happy to see that he was growing up strong and healthy and he seemed to have taken all his features from Achilles.

"Diana." Bella cried in tears as she rushed over to Diana and they both shared an emotional hug that made Achilles shed tears.

It was then he realized how much he missed his baby sister. It has been five good years since they last saw each other and now that she was standing before him, he had no idea what to do.

"A hug will do." Diana replied his thoughts and without warning, Achilles walked over to where she was standing and drew her into his arms as tears spilled down his cheeks.

"I'm sorry." We're the first words that came out of his mouth once she was in his arms.

When he made the decision to leave the pack, he did not even think about her or how much they were going to miss each other. He made a very selfish decision and he regretted it every day of his life.

"I'm sorry for everything." He apologized yet again and Diana disengaged herself from the hug to look up at him.

"There is nothing for you to be sorry about, Achilles, you did what you had to do for your family. I understand."

"Please have a seat." Bella offered anf they all walked to the living room. They had all forgotten about the dinner they were about to eat.

"Is everything alright with the pack?" Achilles asked once they were seated.

"Alex, give your aunt Diana a kiss and go eat your dinner. Daddy and I will join you soon."

"Okay mummy." He agreed as he pegged Diana and rushed over to the diner to eat.

Bella turned to Diana and signalled her to ride on.

"One year ago, things began getting bad, but I didn't think it was serious so I decided to turn a blind eye to it. But for the past two weeks, things have taken a drastic turn. We have lost over ten children in the pack and uncountable miscarriages. I'm actually coming from the hospital right now, I had a miscarriage too." She explained in tears.

"Oh my God!" Bella exclaimed with her hand covering her mouth.

"You… you… you lost a pregnancy?" Achilles asked quietly and from the sound of his voice, one could tell that he was deeply hurt.

"Yeah and that's not all. All the children in the Pack are sick, including my daughter, Bella and we fear that they might all die soon if something is not done. We have all lost our ability to give birth once more. Who knows what will happen to the children if something is not done about this issue?"

"And what exactly has to be done?" Bella asked, worried.

"Alpha D'argan still lives, that is why we can never be fully redeemed. We have to kill that tyrant before we ever enjoy the peace we crave and to do that, we need you all to return to the pack."

"That's not going to happen!" Achilles denied firmly.

  "Achilles' innocent children are dying."

"They are paying for their parents' sins."

"What about your niece, Bella?" She asked in tears and Achilles' heart sank in his abdomen.

"What sins did her parents commit that she has to pay for? You know how fervently I fought for this redemption. You know how much Tony supported you throughout that war and there are several innocent people who are going to lose their children for nothing. Achilles I know you are a man who never goes back on his word, but I beg you to reconsider in this situation. Yes, your people wronged you, they betrayed you and you have every right to be very angry with them, but letting us all perish is too much. The Wall Street Pack needs its Alpha and Luna. We need you both to come back home and redeem us from this predicament. Please." She pleaded in tears.

Both Achilles and Bella went mute.

Diana quietly rose from her seat and left their house without them saying any word to her.

Left to Bella, they should follow Diana back to their pack that same moment, but Achilles was still contemplating.
