Achilles was still in shock as he dressed up for work. The conversation he had with Alex in his dream shook him to the core and he very well knew Alex was trying to send him a message which he could not ignore.
His people needed him back at the pack and he had to go and save them no matter how angry he was. It was also his chance to bring his brother back to life.
"Shit!" He cursed angrily as he shot the tie in his hand on the dressing island and groaned in frustration. He had been struggling to knot that tie for several minutes to no avail. No matter how hard he had tried to learn how to knot a tie over the years, he had never succeeded in knowing how to do so. Bella still did it for him every morning.
"To think I'm a fucking Alpha! A fucking King!" He grumbled to himself as he picked up the tie once more and headed out the closet and bedroom to his son's bedroom where Bella was having him dressed up for school.
When he got into the room, he met Bella dressing Alex as usual and a wave of jealousy washed through him. When Alex was still a baby, Bella used to dress Achilles up for work, but ever since Alex grew and started schooling, she never even looked at her husband in the morning. The only things she ever did for him was knot his tie and put on his cufflinks, the rest of the attention was given to the baby which made Achilles jealous.
"Baby." He called Bella as he walked over to meet them, looking miserable with the tie in his hand.
"Love." Bella responded without sparing him a glance. She was putting on Alex's shoes.
"Daddy! Good morning daddy." Little Alex greeted enthusiastically as he lay on his bed while his mum wore his shoes.
"Good morning honey." He responded and kissed his forehead. "How was your night?"
"It was magical."
"Hmmm…magical?"
"Yes daddy. How was your night?" Alex asked in return and Achilles looked at Bella who was now looking at him with a bright smile.
"Well, it was okay. I had a strange dream."
"What was it about?" Alex asked eagerly as he sat upright on the bed to listen to his father's strange dream.
"You two are going to continue this conversation over dinner. Alex, go eat your breakfast, your nanny's waiting for you." Bella instructed and immediately, the little guy sprinted out of the bedroom.
"You have so much influence over the both of us." Achilles nagged and Bella just shook her head as she took the tie from his hand and inched closer to him to knot it on his neck.
"Maybe I wouldn't if you knew how to knot your own tie and put on your cufflinks."
"You know, I won't be surprised if you asked Diana to cast a spell on me so that I will always be vulnerable in your presence."
"Look who's talking about being vulnerable. Achilles please, it's morning. I don't want to laugh just yet." Bella cautioned as she giggled.
Achilles looked down at her and the only thing he wanted to do at that moment was kiss her, but he didn't.
"After breakfast, don't take Alex to school." He suddenly announced and Bella's hand dropped from his chest as she looked up at him shocked.
"I… I don't understand. Why don't you want me to take him to school today?"
"Because I won't be long at work and when I return, we will be going back home." He announced in a quiet but serious tone and Bella could feel her heart drop into her abdomen. She looked up into Achilles eyes to see if he was joking, but she could see that he wasn't. His jawbones were hardened, his eyes were dark as usual and he didn't look like he was going to burst into laughter anytime soon.
"Going back home as in going back to the wall street pack?" She asked just to be sure and Achilles nodded his head.
"Yes, love. We are going back to the wall street pack to help our people. They need us." He further explained and immediately, Bella crashed into his arms and engulfed him a tight hug.
All night, she had been thinking of ways to convince him to change his mind about not going back home to help their people and there he was, deciding on his own. She was grateful for his change of heart.
"Thank you love. Thank you so much for the change of heart. I didn't get any sleep all night, I kept thinking of ways to make you change your mind without us getting into a fight."
"Well, I had this strange dream where I met Alex in some weird white room and he urged me to come. He also told me there's a chance for him to be brought back to life if we defeat and kill the tyrant. Also, my little niece is on a sick bed, I can't just leave her to die when I know there's something I can do to save her. The moon goddess would definitely punish me for that and Diana will never forgive me."
"Exactly. Oh my goodness Achilles…" she said and hugged him once more. "I'm so happy we are doing this."
"Me too love, me too. Get all what we'll need ready. We leave the moment I return from work, I won't be long anyway."
"Okay."
"Stay safe." He cautioned as he kissed her and turned to leave.
"No breakfast?" She asked with a frown.
"I'll eat when I return." He said with a smile before walking out again.
A wide smile spread across Bella's face, but soon dissapeared when something crossed her mind. Something that had to do with their son.
"Oh my God." She cried as she headed out of Alex's bedroom.
