While little Alex rested, Achilles spent the entire afternoon talking with Tony about the things that had been going on in the pack, while Diana and Bella spent time catching up on everything they had missed out together.

　　Despite the fact that Achilles was angry at the subjects that had betrayed, he was heartbroken to hear from Tony that his pups had and were still dying. He wanted to redeem his people from that predicament no matter what!

　　"Tony." Achilles suddenly called.

　　"Yes, Achilles."

　　"We have spoken about everything except what you did to the subjects who betrayed us during the war, especially the Gamma, Carter." Achilles pointed out and Tony nervously scratched his head.

　　He had decided to give them all, especially Carter a second chance and so far, so good, they had been doing well. He however, had no idea how Achilles was going to react to that.

　　"Achilles." He called quietly as he nervously rubbed his palms together.

　　"Yes, Tony."

　　"When you and Bella left, I got confused and I honestly didn't know where to start. Diana was devastated and shut herself out from everyone for a month. Even the fact that we were mates did not make her warm up to me during that time. Like I said before, I was confused. I had no idea how to go about handling the entire situation. I had to make sure the subjects were okay, had to control every business sector, every agricultural sector and every other thing that had to do with the pack. I needed help and I needed help from someone experienced, so I pardoned Carter. I didn't execute him, I didn't banish him, I gave him another chance to be the Gamma of this pack and since I pardoned a leader who betrayed his pack, I had to pardon the subjects as well. It's been five years since that happened and they haven't caused any trouble. Carter apologizes for what he did everytime we meet and he's doing best to make it up to the pack and most especially to you." Tony explained, hoping that his Alpha would understand and not have him punished for making a rash decision.

　　A long moment of silence flew by and the two men didn't say a single word to each other. Tony was scared as to what was running Achilles' mind, while A hilkes was intrigued by the wisdom Tony had applied in that situation.

　　That was something he would not have done if he were the one to handle the situation and he was proud to have such a wise Beta.

　　"Tony." He finally broke the silence and Tony turned to face him.

　　"Yes, Achilles."

　　"I would never have been wise enough to do what you did. Our ancestors and the Moon goddess must be very pleased with you. Thank you very much for what you did." He spoke with a smile.

　　Tony heaved out a heavy sigh of relief with his left palm placed over his chest. He was scared that Achilles would be enraged by his decision to pardon Carter and have him punished.

　　"I … I learned from the wisest person I know, which is you, Achilles. You might not have done the same thing I did, but you would have done something even more favorable. I know you would." He praised and Achilles just shook his head calmly because he knew that was not true, but he did not want to argue with Tony because he would only end up receiving more praise. Something he did not want.

　　"Tell Carter I would love to see him in my office this evening. We need to have a heart to heart talk. I need to find out why he did what he did. Carter had always been a devoted servant. I have to find out what I did to push him to that extent and if possible, apologize to him."

　　"I think you should talk with him and try to find out why he did what he did, but I don't think you owe him any apology. Even if you wronged Carter in any way, which I know you did not, he had no right to take things too far by sabotaging a redemption we all worked so hard for. Do not apologize to him for anything!" He cautioned and Achilles lifted both hands in the air as if to surrender to someone holding a weapon against him.

　　"Understood! Now don't beat me up, great Beta!" He teased and Tony calmly shook his head.

　　Before he left for the human world, he and Carter had a talk that did not end well, but he still wanted them to talk again.

　　"Speaking of which, the subjects are in the hall right now, they are ready for you to address them." Tony announced and Achilles rose from his seat and led the way out of his office.

　　The moment Achilles and Tony walked into the hall, everyone went on their knees and Achilles was taken aback by the gesture. Their heads were bowed down and the entire hall was dead silent. The only sound that could be heard was the sound of his footsteps walking towards the podium to address them.

　　When he got there, he stood still and scanned around the hall. Everyone had their heads bowed down. He also noticed that Carter, who used to be on the stage with him, had joined the crowd and he was on his knees as well.

　　He could feel how sorry his people were for betraying him and the anger in his heart gradually melting.

　　They had made a mistake that taught them a very bitter lesson and they were sorry, now it was his turn to forgive them, no matter.

　　"You all may rise up." He ordered and immediately, they all rose to their feet, but no one's gaze dared to meet his.

　　"I am not here to reprimand you all of what you did years ago. Your Beta has explained to me all what has been going on and how sorry you all are for betraying me, your Alpha at the time when I needed you the most and I have decided to forgive you. I have also been informed about the recent miscarriages and deaths of my pups, that's why I'm here so we can all work together to stop this nonsense from escalating. So all I need is your support. I have returned home to lead you all as your Alpha,please do not betray me again. Let's all work hard to take down the enemy and have the freedom we all deserve."

　　"We promise to be on your side till the end, great Alpha." A courageous elder spoke from the crowd, causing Achilles to smile.

　　"Thank you."

　　"We are very sorry for the trouble, Alpha Achilles. We promise never to do a thing like that again." Another elder promised and Achilles just nodded his head with his eyes focused on Carter who still had his head bowed down.

　　"Gamma Carter, report to my office immediately!" He ordered and left the hall, heading back to his office.
