CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVEN.

Bella heaved out another heavy sigh as she stood before Diana's room door, contemplating whether to knock or turn around and leave. Ever since they returned from the human world, her and Diana have not had a girl to girl talk like they used to have before they left. Because of everything that had happened and was still happening, Diana had changed a lot.

She used to be the jovial girl who would start up conversations and make meetings and gatherings very lively, but lately, that has not been the case. She was always the first to leave Achilles' office after meetings and she spent most of the day in her daughter's bedroom crying and praying to the moon goddess.

Bella was overwhelmed with all sorts of emotions. She was extremely devastated to the point where she didn't even have the courage to initiate a conversation with Diana. She also felt guilty because her own son was healthy. Most times, she wondered if things would not have gotten that bad if they did not leave. Maybe if they did not leave, they would have found a way to settle things before they got to that level.

She felt so guilty and ashamed that she could not even face Diana, but she knew she had to, because she owed her an apology for leaving the pack and letting them all perish.

"Come in." Diana's voice came through from the bedroom, snapping Bella out if her downing thoughts. Slowly, carefully, she stratched her hand forward and creaked the doorknob open. Once the door opened up, she took a step forward and peeked into the room to scan the scenario of the room before stepping in.

"Bella" Diana called as Bella closed the door behind her.

"Hi." Bella greeted as calmly as she could. Her heart was pounding hard in her chest and the guilt she felt in her heart almost made her faint when she saw how pale Diana had become. She even looked sick. Her always straight and well kept hair looked completely disheveled and the dark circles under her eyes proved that she had not gotten any sleep for many nights.

"Diana." Bella called calmly as she took calculated steps towards her. She was seated on one of the couches in the sitting area with a book in her hand. She was smiling as she looked up, but Bella could tell it was a forced smile.

"Hi, what brings you here?" Diana asked calmly as Bella sat before her.

"Well…" She said and shrugged. "I noticed that we haven't really had a girl to girl chat since Achilles and I returned, so I figured I could come over so we can chat, but if you're busy, I can just go back and come later when you are free."

"Of course not!" Diana denied flatly as she threw the book on the table and patted the space beside her for her to sit. "Sit right here and let's have a girl to girl chat. I'm happy you came Bella, I was so bored that's why I started reading that book."

"Ahhh… thank you." She thanked Diana and lowered herself to the space she had patted a while ago.

When she made herself comfortable, she turned to look at Diana and suddenly, all the words flew out of her mind, leaving her completely blank. She was heartbroken and guilty at the same time and she didn't even know what to say to Diana.

"Diana I'm sorry." She suddenly blurted out and Diana's eyes opened wide in shock.

  "Sorry? What for?"

"For leaving. I swear I would not have accepted to leave if I knew something like this was going to happen. Please forgive me."

"Bella, there's nothing for you to be sorry about. Achilles took that decision, not you. Yes, I was mad for a few months, but I finally came to the understanding that he did what he had to do to protect his family. That's what every man does. Please stop saying sorry. Actually I'm very happy that you two decided to come back so we can fight this war together. I should be saying thank you, not you saying sorry." Diana explained and Bella quickly brushed off the tear that had managed to trickle down her left eye.

  "I… I … I just feel guilty whenever I think of baby Bella's situation."

"There's nothing for you to be guilty about. You didn't bring this affliction upon us, so please, stop feeling guilty."

"I promise I will do all I can to stop this, even if I have to kill Alpha D'argan myself, I promise I will do it to stop all this from happening."

"I know you will and I'm thankful for that. Come here." She said opening her arms and immediately, Bella crashed into them, giving her a bone crushing hug as tears fell down her cheeks.

She was happy that Diana was feeling optimistic about their upcoming battle and most importantly, she was relieved that Diana held no grudge against her. Diana was her best friend and only sister in the world, the last thing she wanted was to be on her bad side.

"So…" She said breaking the hug and looking at Diana. "How's Alex?... I mean, I know he's dead, but I believe you kept his soul somewhere, how is it doing?" She asked and Diana immediately smiled as she took out the pendant that was hiding beneath her dress on her neck and Bella's mouth fell when she saw it glowing. "Oh, my goodness! It's beautiful!"

"Right?" Diana asked chuckling. She placed a gentle kiss on it and gently carressed it with her thumb. "Alex is in there waiting for the time when he'll be resurrected. I just believe that after this war, the moon goddess will give me another chance of great magic and I will use it to bring our brother back to life."

"I can't wait for that time to come."

  "Me too."

"What about his body?" Bella inquired curiously and Diana's smile broadened.

"His body has been preserved in a safe place." She responded and all Bella could do was nod.

She could not wait for all that to be over so the family and the pack as whole would be united and happy again. She missed those times.
